Martial Peak: Chaos Dragon Emperor

Yang Feng, Cang Yan and Fei Yu, soon saw a swarm of illusionary looking black colored insects swarming towards them. The three looked at the insects with narrowed eyes.

"Soul Devouring Insects."

Cang Yan saw the insects approach and quickly condensed a ball of flame in his hand before throwing it towards the approaching insects.

*Boom*

The ball collided with the insects and exploded, enveloping the insects in the resulting smoke. But ... When the smoke cleared the next second, the insects flew out of it without any scratch.

Seeing this Cang Yan's face turned grim as he shouted to the two, "Ordinary Flames won't work! Fall back!". Yang Feng who heard this wondered, 'did he forget that I told him, I would take care of the insects, or did he not believe me.'

Yang Feng shook his head and instead of falling back, unlike his two companions, looked at the approaching insects calmly. "Brother Yang! You..!!!", Cang Yan and Fei Yu noticed that Yang Feng didn't even take a step back and instead kept looking at the approaching insects, causing him to remind Yang Feng to retreat.

But, just as he was about to say something, he was left speechless as he looked at what happened in shock.

Yang Feng waited till the insects were nearly upon him before he acted. He urged his Yin-Yang Harmony Flame, that had been turned to a true spiritual flame and had connected to his knowledge sea, to surge out.

The next moment, grayish flames suddenly appeared in his hand. Yang Feng waved his hand in an arc, causing the flame on his hand to burst out and surge towards the insects.

The insect swarm that was frantically approaching him, suddenly started to feel erratic and turn around, as if afraid of something. But unfortunately, they weren't able to and were hit by the flame.

But Yang Feng was careful not to kill them as these insects would prove to be useful to him. Not stopping there, just as the insects were weakened by the flames, Yang Feng swiftly enveloped them in his spiritual energy and took them into his Knowledge Sea, placing them on the Soul Warming Lotus.

Cang Yan and Fei Yu, who were standing a few step behind Yang Feng, saw how Yang Feng had released a flame and attacked the Soul Devouring Insects. But they were not able to see Yang Feng store the insects in his Knowledge Sea and thought that the insects got burnt to ashes by the flames.

"Conflagrated Knowledge Sea!!", Cang Yan and Fei Yu shouted as the two saw the flames burning the insects. 'but, why does it feel different?', Cang Yan thought as he looked at the Grayish Flames that could only be identified as Yang Feng's Conflagrated Knowledge Sea.

After storing the insects securedly on the Soul Warming Lotus, Yang Feng turned to look behind himself, at the two shocked individual. He said in an amused voice, "well, now that the Soul Devouring Insects have been taken care of. Shell we go look inside."

The two woke up from their shock and nodded before Fei Yu spoke to him seductively, "Hoh. I didn't think Brother Yang would have a Conflagrated Knowledge Sea?"

Yang Feng shook his head with a smirk and said, "heh, well, you didn't ask, did you?". Fei Yu snorted and said, "I can't just ask someone I met 'hey, my name's Fei Yu. What's yours, and do you have a Conflagrated Knowledge Sea by any chance'. Yeah, not my thing."

Yang Feng and Cang Yan both chuckled at that. "Although it's impressive. I don't think that's something for us to pry on." Cang Yan reminded Fei Yu who huffed and the three walked towards the end of the cave.

Along the way, they saw a bodies of a few desciples that Yang Feng felt weren't dead and were in that state because of Soul Devouring Insects in their Knowledge Sea.

So Yang Feng extracted the Insects from their Knowledge Sea as well. He then informed Cang Yan and Fei Yu that those desciples would be full recovered after a few months of rest and healing.

A few minute later, the three reached a dead end. No, it was more like a blocked/sealed door. Fei Yu observed the door a little before she used another talisman to open it, the process taking a few minutes.

The three looked at each other before they walked through the now opened door. As they entered, they came upon a spacious square shaped structure/room.

The room although spacious, was however empty except for four things that were encased in four individual lights.

Those things were; a Saint Grade Sword Artifact, a Saint Grade Goard, a Secret Technique manual and a pitch black having the shape of an egg.

As soon as Yang Feng entered the room, his eyes focused on the black stone. Although the stone looked ordinary, he knew the truth about it. That stone wasn't actually a stone, it was an egg belonging to the Stone Race.

Stone Race is a Race of monster beasts that is a descendant of the Divine Beast Tai Yue. This specific race has the capability of refining any type of ore or mineral, purifying it.

Yang Feng and the three walked towards the four items. Fei Yu looked at the items and exclamed, "Two Saint Grade Artifacts!, A Top Notch Secret Art! and .... What is that?".

Cang Yan was also looking at the items and as he observed the stone... He found nothing special about it, "I... I'm not too sure myself."

Yang Feng internally sighed at how regressed the knowledge of the people of Tong Xuan Realm has become from their isolation. Although the seal had helped in keeping the world safe from outside interference, it had also stopped the development of the world and had basically become a prison for its inhabitants.

Shaking that thought off, Yang Feng raised his hand and grabbed the stone, before turning it towards his face seemingly observing it. The two looked at this and Cang Yan asked, "Brother Yang, Do you know what this is?"

Yang Feng just smiled while shaking his head and said, "Maybe I am wrong. But I have a feeling that this will be of great help to me.", he then looked at the other three things and saw how his two companions were stopping themselves from choosing anything.

This was because, it was Yang Feng who had basically done all the work and the only reason they got here. Fei Yu had been the reason they were even here, so she should also be getting at least one item. As for Cang Yan, he did nothing....

But as Yang Feng looked at the items, he felt them lacking. He himself was a Saint King Grade Artifact Refiner and had an artifact of that grade, so these Saint Grade Artifacts didn't attract him. The same was with his Techniques, although the current grade of his cultivation techniques were unknown, he was absolutely certain that all of them were ATLEAST at Dao Source Realm.

Yang Feng placed the black 'stone' into his Universe Bag and told his companions, "I will be taking the stone, you guys can have the rest."

The two exclamation, "huh?". Fei Yu asked him, "Little Brother Yang, are you sure about it. You can take another thing if you want." Yang Feng smiled and shook his head. The two then didn't ask anything and collected the items before they all decided to leave the cave.

Along the way, Cang Yan used his spiritual energy to take the desciples Yang Feng had purified earlier with them. It only took them less than an hour to reach the Soaring Heaven Sect.

The three, along with the rescued desciples, flew right into the sect and weren't even stopped, which was probably because of Cang Yan and Fei Yu's post of guardians of the sect.

After entering the sect, the three landed on a mountain peak where Cang Yan dropped the rescued desciples to the care of a steward. He then turned to Yang Feng and said, "Brother Yang, you should rest up a bit till I inform the sect master about your arrival."

He then looked towards Fei Yu and continued, "Fei Yu will show you around here." Fei Yu who was about to excuse herself was stunned and before she could say anything, Cang Yan already flew away towards the mountain peak in the center of the sect.

After cursing Cang Yan internally for a few times, Fei Yu looked at Yang Feng and spoke in mock amusement, "well, looks like you'll have to put up with me for some more."

Yang Feng chuckled and said dramatically with a long sigh and wide eyes, "Oh No! I am not ready for that sh*t." Fei Yu looked at him with narrowed eyes for a second before the two burst into laughter.

"*Hah* let's go, I'll show you around here.", Fei Yu then lead Yang Feng around the sect.

Cang Yan landed outside the sect master's residence on the main peak. He then walked to the door and waited for just a second before he got a divine sense message saying,

Cang Yan then pushed open the door of the residence and walked a few steps before reaching a Shoji Door. He then slid open the door and stepped inside before bowing deeply, "Greetings Master, Honored Guest."

Cang Yan greeted the two people present in the room before he looked towards his master, the current sect master of Soaring Heaven Sect, Chu Ling Xiao.

"Master, I have brought him.", Cang Yan spoke, informing Chu Ling Xiao. Chu Ling Xiao nodded and said, "tell me about him."

Chu Ling Xiao started, "Although I haven't interacted with him long enough, I can still tell that he is someone who likes to stay informed about things... He knew about me before I found him and he also didn't seem surprised that I came to look for him."

Chu Ling Xiao listened as his eyes arched in intrigue. Cang Yan continued, "As for his character. He seems to have a carefree and serene attitude, but if one looks closely, he might see something hidden deep within... Something I can't say for sure."

"His strength on the other hand his something I can't quite tell.", slight amount of sweat suddenly appeared on Cang Yan's forehead when he reached here. "On the surface, he seems to have only reached the Peak of 3rd Order Transcendent Realm... *Gulp* but ... Something tells me that I am sorely wrong on that assumption."

Chu Ling Xiao narrowed his eyes at that and asked Cang Yan, "what do you mean by that?". Cang Yan hesitated for a second to find words to express his thoughts.

"... Although his Qi cultivation is what I have told you. He also seems to have cultivated his body to an unbelievable amount .... Likely comparable to that of a Transcendent."

Chu Ling Xiao's eyes widened his pure shock and disbelief as he understood what Cang Yan meant. "Do you mean to say that he might be able to fight a serious battle with a Transcendent, who is using every bit of his strength, with ONLY his BODY!?"

Just then, the aged voice of the other occupant of the room sounded, "I already told you that that boy is someone you can't measure by the norm. He is an anomaly of sort, and excels in everything he does."

Chu Ling Xiao looked at the source of the voice, who was one of his friends and asked, "what else can you tell me about him..."
