Martial Destiny

Chapter 7: Demons(3)

"Some idiots have already fallen under my [Charm]. With that, these stupid humans will do the dirty work for us. In the first phase of my ability, they'll only receive a small boost to their attributes, but gradually, they will become even greater threats." A woman, no taller than 1.60 meters, was speaking to some solidified miasmic shapes.

Despite having a "small" body, the woman's presence was quite striking, as she had pronounced curves. A small birthmark on her cheek added a seductive aura to her, an aura further enhanced by an unknown reason.

"It's a pity that most humans will die to the [Enchanted], or else we could get even more destinies as food." One of the solidified miasmic shapes spoke with a shrill and strange voice.

Players would be horrified to realize that the voices of the demons they had been hearing earlier actually belonged to these solidified miasmic forms.

"Don't be too greedy. The world has received a large number of outsiders today. It seems they were summoned here to help the original inhabitants of this planet fight against us. The idiots don't even realize that we'll only grow stronger with so many destinies available to us!" The woman laughed demonically again, showing a mouth full of sharp teeth.

"Moreover, the bodies of these outsiders are also very suitable for our [Possession]. It'll be much easier to find bodies from now on!" One of the solidified miasmic shapes commented. The voices of these demons were exactly the same, making it impossible to distinguish gender or anything of the sort.

This particular solidified miasmic shape was much larger than the others, even towering over the woman herself, and had a humanoid shape.

"We'll find a suitable form of life for you today, Merrosun." The woman smiled as she spoke, looking at the smoke rising from the village ahead of her.

"The first village will fall today. All your efforts will be in vain, humans. We will conquer this planet as we have done with many others!"

[Sharke][Level: Mortal]

Julius watched the swordsman before him. Dark foam, veins darkening across his body and completely white eyes.

A single demon's voice had been enough to completely transform the player standing before him.

[Charge] Sharke used a swordsman's speed ability to rapidly close the distance to Julius.

The explosive speed of Sharke took Julius by surprise.

'So fast!' Barely having time to react, Julius raised his sword to block the longsword that was almost about to strike him.

Sharke's sword was completely black, as if it was devouring the light from the very world.

TRING

The sound of swords clashing rang out, and it was at that moment that a point of blue light appeared on the dark sword.

BOOM

A small blue explosion emanated from the sword's center.

"Arghh!" Julius had to take three steps back to recover from the impact.

'What the hell kind of sword is that!?' If Julius hadn't been so focused on the fight, he probably would have been complaining to the developers again.

'How dare they give such a powerful weapon to a mere beginner!'

'You've broken the damn game's balance!'

'I'll sue this damn company!'

In that brief exchange, Julius could clearly see the massive difference in their equipment.

And as if that weren't enough, only a small part of Julius' sword remained intact. Several parts of the blade had already disappeared, as if they had vanished...

'DAMN DEVELOPERS, WHY CREATE SUCH A FRAGILE STARTER WEAPON!?' Once again, despite everything going on, he couldn't help but curse the people who created the game.

And once more, it seemed like the game had the ability to read its players' minds.

As if it heard and wanted to mock Julius, the situation had just become even more complicated for him.

Another enraged player had joined Sharke to attack Julius!

A man wearing light armor and wielding two axes stood face to face with Julius.

[MadDog][Level: Mortal]

'Despair and bad luck truly go hand in hand!' Not knowing what to do, Julius looked around, trying to find a place to escape.

Unfortunately, the situation was so chaotic that he couldn't find anything except more problems.

No matter where he looked, conflicts were apparent.

He simply couldn't find a place to flee.

'DAMN IT!'

RIP

The sound of something cutting through the air rang next to Julius' ear, making him realize that he had almost been struck by one of the man's axes.

'DAMN IT, DAMN IT, DAMN IT!' The situation was becoming increasingly dire, and Julius didn't have a single second to catch his breath.

Dark appeared again, following the man with the axes, and swung his great sword, attempting to slice Julius in half.

Tiring

Once again, Julius used his own sword to block the attack.

This time, he could clearly see the reason parts of his blade had disappeared in the previous exchange.

Slurp

Like a black hole, Sharke's great sword swallowed parts of Julius' sword.

It caused the entire upper portion of the blade to simply vanish.

'What the hell kind of sword is that!?' With every passing second, Julius became even more shocked.

[Reinforced Body]

Julius activated a skill to create some distance between himself and the two enraged players.

He managed to create just enough distance to catch his breath for a second or two.

But to Julius' surprise something unexpected happened.

[Release]

Even though Dark was now far away from Julius, he swung his sword again as if he wanted to cut him in half.

And that's when something strange happened.

The parts of the blade that had been swallowed were now flying toward Julius.

Quickly, he repositioned himself to ensure that no shard of the blade struck him, but this caused his guard to break.

The axe-wielding man had already closed in on Julius, swinging his axe trying to land a blow.

'What the hell!' Even with [Reinforced Body] active, Julius had superior attributes to both of them, allowing him to dodge all their attacks, but that was all he was doing.

The only thing he had to attack with was a broken sword.

Even though he could still manage to cut something with it, he would need to get dangerously close.

Which wasn't very wise considering it was a 2v1 battle.

Especially since both of them were completely enraged. It was hard to predict their next move.

'Focus, focus, focus!' Knowing there was no point in trying to find an escape, Julius was fully concentrated on the enemies in front of him.

'Left... Damn, there's an attack from the right as well!'

'He's aiming for my leg...'

'I need to be careful with that damn sword, or I'll end up without any weapon to fight with.'

'Left... right... down...'

'...'

'...'

Julius seemed to have entered a strange trance, no longer thinking before moving, displaying bizarre reflexes. It also seemed that his body temperature had dropped a few degrees, making his senses even sharper.

A small, pale flame flickered in Julius' mind.

'Looks like I'm in the mindless flow again.' It wasn't the first time Julius had entered this state, as he had practiced several martial arts in the past, so he knew a trick or two to enter it more quickly.

The pale flame was part of that trick.

With no time for further reflection, Julius continued dodging, waiting for an opportunity to strike again.

Seconds passed slowly, and Julius just kept moving his body to avoid the axes and the great sword.

"ARHGHH"

"ARHGH"

The two enraged players were foaming at the mouth, giving them a crazier appearance.

'Now!' It was exactly at that moment that Julius saw his chance.

Sharke was in front of MadDog, allowing Julius to use the first player's body as protection against the second player's attacks.

Not wanting to waste the opportunity, he shifted from defense to offense and lunged at the swordsman.

[Charge]

He used only 5 mana points, but it was more than enough to close the small distance between him and Sharke.

Taking advantage of the moment, with the swordsman still enraged, Julius simply drove his sword into Sharke's neck.

Even with the sword almost entirely gone, it was still enough to have part of the blade visible at the back of Sharke's neck.

"AHDSJA!" Sharke began to scream, but with a sword piercing his throat, the only sound that escaped his mouth was blood pouring out.

[Energy Slash]

Not wanting to waste the moment, Julius used the swordsman's third skill to cut the entire right side of Sharke.

RIP

At that moment, Sharke couldn't make another sound and collapsed to the ground.

TAP

The sound of a human body hitting the ground made the pale flame inside Julius' mind disappear, causing him to snap out of his trance.

[Energy Slash: Use Universal Energy (UA) to coat your sword, greatly increasing its piercing and cutting power. This skill allows even a simple knife to cut through mountains, as long as the wielder has enough MANA. Requirements for use: ???/MANA per use (Only the quality and durability of the equipment are restrictions for this skill).]

Having used over 20 mana for that, Julius now had less than 10 mana left.

And in front of him still stood the axe-wielding madman.

Mana: 10 (UA * 10)
