Chapter 777: Newlyweds
Kiernan stood on a balcony, overlooking the beautiful island of Nightingale, as the eternal night covered the island.
"…I honestly didn't expect you to be that stingy Bella's son. From what we've seen of her, her having children was the most impossible thing in the world."
Zeus came over and said.
"Is that so?"
Kiernan said with a chuckle.
When the children of Abracadabra found out about him and Bella, they were very much shocked.
It meant that Kiernan had some of Abracadabra's blood in him and realized where his talent could've come from.
Bella had been widely considered the most gifted Abracadabra family member, and if it wasn't for her rebellious nature, she would've already succeeded Karl-Michael as the head of the family.
"Your mother has always been very against being married, and that's why nobody expected her to actually have a child."
In that moment, Christmas appeared in the balcony, crossing her arms under her big chest.
She was standing on heels, so she was taller than usual.
"Where is my mother?"
Kiernan asked.
"…I think she dragged your wife elsewhere. I've never seen Bella dote on someone as much as Aoi."
Christmas said.
"…Give it back, you stupid!"
In that moment, Light ran past the balcony with a teddy bear-holding Charity chasing after him with a big pout on her face.
Light had stolen her favorite teddy bear.
The vibes were very lighthearted, and it seemed like the entire island was celebrating alongside them.
"Light, don't bully her!"
Christmas screamed angrily.
She was Charity's big sister, and they were extremely close, and she thought of Charity as the cutest thing in the world.
…
Elsewhere in the castle.
"…Puff."
Karma smoked a cigarette on the courtyard bench, a small cloud of smoke billowing around him as he exhaled.
Tap! Tap! Tap!
In that moment, he heard the sound of footsteps, and from sensing the person's energy, he could already tell who it was.
Karl-Michael slowly made his way over to him with his usual unhappy and stern expression on his face.
It seemed like he had a frozen expression, as he always looked like this.
"Can I sit?"
Karl-Michael asked.
"…Sure, sir."
Karma moved to the side, making space for Karl-Michael to sit down, and he then sat down.
"I'd like to hear from you how you met my daughter."
Karl-Michael crossed his legs and said.
"I came here as a tourist about twenty years ago. I was an aspiring martial artist back then, and I traveled the world to get strong.
"One night, in the inn I was staying at, I went to the bar to get a drink, as I wanted to get a little loose, so I had a few drinks.
"It was very rowdy in the bar.
"It was at that moment that your daughter, Bella, sat beside me, and she was already very beautiful back then.
"She changed the vibe of the entire inn, and everybody there started to behave more respectfully and politely.
"I was amazed how one person's presence can change the entire atmosphere of a room, but she was able to.
"She saw that I was looking at her, and she smiled at me in return. We started talking, had a few more drinks, and then ended up in my room.
"When I woke up the next morning, she was gone."
Karma said, dropped the cigarette to the ground, and stomped it with his shoe.
"…Destiny works in strange ways."
Karl-Michael whispered.
"Excuse me?"
Karma looked at him with a raised eyebrow, as he couldn't completely hear him.
"If you hadn't decided to come to Nightingale on that day, when Bella and I had an argument, you two wouldn't have met, and she would have done it with someone else.
"That meeting was a one-in-a-billion chance.
"If you two hadn't met, Kiernan wouldn't have been born, and humanity would currently be in war with the Animal Kingdom.
"The World Sea would be a battlefield, and the pirates would still be roaming and growing stronger with each passing second.
"The mainland of humanity's lands would be a battlefield. Destiny sometimes works against you and sometimes in your favor."
Karl-Michael said.
"…Yes, it's a very special thing."
Karma said.
They didn't speak another word and just watched the shooting stars falling from the sky.
…
"…Mmh, yeah."
Aoi and Bella were sitting on the bed and talking with each other with smiles on their faces.
They were getting to know each other, and Bella was really growing to like this cute and smart girl, who managed to capture Kiernan's heart.
She knew that the woman who managed to do that must be a special one.
Knock! Knock!
In that moment, Kiernan knocked at the doorframe, and the two women looked over.
"Mother, are you trying to steal her from me?"
Kiernan approached with a smile.
"Just getting to know my daughter-in-law~"
Bella stood up and hugged Kiernan tightly. He responded to the hug by putting his arms around her in return.
After the hug, Bella noticed that Kiernan and Aoi were looking at each other—a growing desire in their eyes.
She realized that they had one thing to do before the marriage ceremony was completely over.
"I'll leave the two of you be~"
Bella waved her hand with a bashful smile before quietly slipping out of the room.
The door closed.
"Whew…"
Kiernan pulled off his tie and loosened the top button of his shirt, feeling the weight of the long day finally lifting off his shoulders.
"You alright?"
Aoi asked with a smile.
"I think I am about to lose my voice. I swear I talked to a couple hundred people today."
Kiernan fell on the soft bed, feeling the softness of the mattress under him, and wanted nothing more than to relax.
However, in that moment, Aoi gathered her courage and sat down on his lap, looking at his face with desire.
They had sexual intercourse many times before, but she was now feeling surprisingly nervous because it was the first time they were doing it as newlyweds.
"…I want you to know that I am really happy I met you, Kiernan."
Aoi said with a serious look on her face.
It was obvious she meant every word she said.
"The feeling is mutual."
Kiernan pulled her close, and their hot breaths touched each other's faces before they shared a long, passionate kiss.
