Marrying Mr CEO: Be My Bride

Chapter 15: CHAPTER FIFTEEN

Lynn woke up late the next morning because shs had spent most of the night awake, thinking and thinking about everything and BT the time she had slept and woken up she had made up her mind about the answer she was going to give Alex... she got ready but remained in her room, feeling anxious till she heard a knock on her door... she walked away from the window she was standing by and opened the door to see a pretty lady with an expressionless look on her face... "Good morning ma'am, I was told to call you down for breakfast... Mr. hult has to leave for work soon, " the lady said to her, and before Lynn could respond, the lady turned and walked away...

Lynn left her room also and walked behind the lady, her heart racing in her chest... Alex was seated at the breakfast table when she walked in, and he raised his eyes to look at her... "Good morning," He greeted...

"Good morning." Lynn greeted him back in a low voice and took a seat... Marcus was standing at the side of the room, and Lynn wondered if he would remain their and listen in on the conversation she was about to start... she didn't feel comfortable talking about such a matter with him standing there, so she decided not to say anything till Alex asked her about it himself...

"How was your night... I'm sure you had a lot of thinking to do, " Alex said, and lynn swallowed... she turned to look at him as he took a sip out of his coffee. "it was okay," She answered, and he nodded...

"Then should we have a talk after breakfast or do you need more time for thinking?" He asked...

"we can talk after breakfast," Lynn responded and ate her breakfast quickly because she was hungry and had skipper dinner the previous night... Alex acted like his attention wasn't on her, but his full attention was on her...

while Marcus observed both of them from where he stood... he hoped everything would work out as planned...

Alex was done with his breakfast, but he waited till Lynn ate till she was full because he knew she didn't have dinner and would probably be hungry... when she was finally done, he stood up and lynn stood up also and followed after him silently... it was still hard for her to fathom the fact of everything that was happening... it felt a long dream that felt real and vivid...

"I accept your proposal," Lynn blurted out her decision when both of them were in his study... her heart beating frantically in her ribcage as she stared at him for a reaction...

Alex nodded and made sure not to act like he was glad that she had finally accepted... He acted like he wasn't the one who had more to lose... "But I have my conditions," Lynn added.

She placed her hand on her lap and swallowed... she had to be bold and tell him what she wanted straight up... If he didn't agree to it, then maybe this 'job' wasn't for her... Lynn had decided to classify it as just a job and nothing else... a job that would change her life for good...

Alex nodded. "May I hear your conditions?" He said, and Lynn cleared her throat...

"I don't want an elaborate wedding," She started, and a small frown settled on Alex face... That was the reason he wanted a fake marriage in the first place, because of the ceremony, he wanted to show everyone that he was married... so they could leave him alone... But now she was stating that she didn't want one...

"Why?" He asked, hoping she could give him a valid reason...

"If you want this to work out for you, then you wouldn't want me to do this...I don't think I can handle such a wedding," She explained...

"I see. I also have my conditions, too. " Alex stated, and lynn felt her heart almost drop. what conditions did he want! wasn't it enough that he asked her to marry him..

"First of all, you have to move out of your place and move in here... I need to watch you so you don't change your mind at the last minute, " Alex said, and Lynn scoffed... Why the hell would she change her mind when fifteen million was involved... She would be a fool to run off and lose that amount to someone else... "I won't run off, I don't trust you either." Lynn glared at him a bit...

"You also have to prepare for the wedding.... you will appear in public with me a few times also, don't worry, I will make sure your face won't be seen, " Alex said, when Lynn was about to speak up about that... She couldn't risk her coworkers recognising her...

"I'm also not quitting my job," Lynn added to her conditions, but Alex wasn't happy with this condition...

"You need to quit your job if you are going to become my wife... what if words get our that my wife works as a waitress" Alex declared but Lynn shook her head in disagreement, she loved her new job and couldn't quit just like that, not yet, It was so soon...

"I can't just quit my job. I just got the job, and you said it yourself. You won't let my face be seen, so no one can find out about it!" Lynn spat out...

"You won't need it anyways...I will provide anything you want.... all the necessities you need... so your salary is irrelevant, " Alex replied, and lynn sighed exasperatedly...

"it's not about the salary...it's just...the first job I really like," Lynn explained in a low voice... she had worked many part-time jobs, but this was the first place she felt really accepted without walking on eggshells... everyone was so nice to her... and she was finally settling in... it made her sad to think that she had to quit so abruptly...
