Marrying Mr CEO: Be My Bride

Chapter 11: CHAPTER ELEVEN

Lynn woke up the next morning feeling more refreshed than ever... The bed was softer and bigger than her own, and she didn't feel like she was in a cramped space... But waking up brought to the reality of where she was, and it wasn't her reality... She got up from the bed and walked to the room door... Lynn cracked, opened the door as silently as possible, and propped her through the door. She looked left and right to find an empty hallway... was this house always this empty and quiet... she slowly came out of the room and started to walk down the quiet hallway... she checked her phone and saw that it was still pretty early in the morning. maybe everyone was still fast sleep... But she's had thought wrong because as she came down the stairs... she saw an old man from the night before speaking to two women who had on something like a uniform. They probably worked in the house... she thought...

Marcus immediately noticed Lynn's presence, and she was about to go back upstairs and stay in her room, but he had seen her already... "Good morning, Miss," He said to her, and Lynn showed a slight nervous smile...

"I was about to call you down for breakfast, please follow me, Miss." Lynn was about to decline the breakfast, but she couldn't because she was really hungry... she decided to follow after Marcus, her eyes scanning the magnificence of the mansion...

Never in her days would she have imagined stepping her foot into a place like this... it was so big and she could see there was another hallway as they walked past it and headed to the dining room... just how big was this house?

Lynn's jaw almost dropped the floor as she walked into the dining room and saw the breakfast that was on the huge dining that could contain up to twenty people if not more... The delicious aroma of the food served on the table invaded her nostrils, and her stomach growled violently as she stared at it... Marcus turned to look at her and gestured for her to take a seat, which Lynn did...

She swallowed when a lady with an expressionless look on her face drew out a chair for her... "Thank you," She muttered, and the lady nodded...

Lynn's eyes travelled from the lady to Marcus... where was she even going to start from and why was there so much food, if she was the only one eating... like she had assumed in the beginning, maybe a few other people resided in the house, or perhaps the workers eat at the table...

she waited for at least Alex to show up, but he didn't...

and as time went on, Lynn realised that no one else was coming. The breakfast was meant for only her... she could hardly eat enough because she didn't want to appear greedy, but everything was so good and melted in her mouth as she took each bite... It had been years since she had a proper meal or even breakfast...

She had decided a few years ago that breakfast wasn't her option....only lunch and sometimes just dinner... thinking about what she had been through made her heart ache, and she could feel tears brimming in her eyes, but Lynn blinked back the tears... This was probably just a one-time thing that she couldn't get used to...

She picked up the glass of water and drank from it before standing up... as soon as Alex got back, she was leaving... "Thank you for the breakfast, sir," She said to Marcus, and he nodded... "Just Marcus is fine," he corrected...

"What about Ale... Mr Hult...I need to speak to him," She asked... maybe he didn't have breakfast...

"Oh, my hult left for work already," Marcus answered...

"What!" Lynn exclaimed. How could he leave for work just like that! what about her? she sighed deeply and ran her hand through her hair... if he knew he would do this, then why did he tell her they would speak the following morning ... did she have to wait till he was back!

"When will he be back?" She inquired.. and Marcus shook his head..

"I have no idea, Miss... maybe early or late, it really depends on Mr. hult..." Marcus explained... Lynn felt a bit mad that he just left that way...

she has questions to ask him... "I will inform you when he gets back you don't have to worry," Marcus assured, and Lynn nodded...

She turned to look at a lady who no longer looked expressionless but had a slight smile on her face, Lynn smiled back as her before turning to leave...

Apart from Marcus and two ladies she saw him speaking to, she saw no one else as she walked towards the stairs that led to the guest room.... The house was big and kind of...empty... There was an emptiness to it that she couldn't quite explain....

She sat in her room, waiting and waiting....hoping to hear a knock on her door from Marcus informing her of Alex arrival, but seconds turned into minutes and minutes turned into hours...

Lynn was tired of waiting now... she stood up from her bed and sighed deeply as she walked to her room door. "Maybe he forgot to inform me or maybe he is busy," She muttered as she walked out of the room and into the hallway....

But just as she was about to take the turn that led to the stairs, a door caught Lynn's attention, shs stopped in her tracks and turned to look at the slightly open door and she caught a glance of something covered with a white sheet...

Her curiosity piqued, but she gave her head a little shake... there was no use being nosy... Julia was about to walk away, but something kept drawing her attention back to the room... she sighed deeply and walked towards the room...

why was the door left open... she pushed the door open. further and slowly walked into the room, and the first thing she noticed was the dust... it seemed like no one had been in there for a long time...
