Mariel: The Goddess of War

Scorching! Scorching! Scorching!

Countless spells fired at each other from both sides. Fire magic, water magic, ice magic, and dark magic were continuously used by each side to attack the other side.

"Everyone, be careful. Don't get hit by their dark magic. You can be dead." Kehal ordered everyone and used his large shield to spread a large barrier to block everyone's attacks in the front row.

Meanwhile, Deric and the other wizards cast their highest level of ice magic and shot at the demons flying above them, freezing and destroying them to pieces.

Claudia and the other healers were helping each other by casting healing spells, while also trying to help creating magic barrier to block the dark magic that was being shot at Deric and the others.

"This time, it's a good thing that our people is ready, so there were no casualties for sure." Deric said with relief, and he shot ice magic at the demons, killing several more.

"Don't overthinking too much, Deric. This time, it won't be like last time. Let's kill them!" Kehal warned as he used his magic sword to slash at the demons that were continuously charging at them.

On the other side, in a large building, the children and the elderly people were protected by some people from the village, including Beatrix, who helped to fight back some of demons that had slipped in their place.

"You guys protect the front; we'll protect from the roof!" one of the people in this group said as he shot magic at the demons who had torn holes in the roof. 

 "Understood!" Eujin replied as he used his shield to block the dark magic attacks that were coming from multiple directions.

"Mania heals Eujin, I can handle them." Raven said as she cast several trap spells on the ground, catching many of the demons. These traps locked their bodies, preventing them from moving away.

Scorching!

The sound of ice magic from Beatrix's staff shot at the demons trapped by Raven, freezing them to death and breaking them into pieces.

"Your traps are really useful; they make me to kill them easier." Beatrix praised Raven's skills.

"Your ice magic is very powerful too, causing those demons to die very quickly." Raven also turned to praise.

The situation in the West and East is not too bad because the other team leaders who were assigned did their jobs well without any worry.

 However, the situation in the south gate was quite critical because most of the group was sent to help Kehal in the north gate where the demons had invaded the most. Furthermore, the group of people fighting here was smaller than the other groups, causing Segal and Mariel to have to face quite this battle.

Scorching!

Ouch! Segal cried out in slight pain. The dark magic energy that had shot into his shield didn't dissipate completely, but instead damaged his body, causing internal injuries. 

"Heal!" Mariel immediately turned to using healing magic on her brother. After that, she quickly used the Dragon Slayer Sword, combined with fire and water magic to slash demons.

"If my magic power is full, there's no way they can survive for long like this." Mariel said. The situation was bad because the demons had attacked the village after Mariel had just gone through a tough battle with Master Kehal, so her body had not fully recovered. Her magic power might have been enough for this fight, but her body was still bruised and exhausted, causing her movements to be noticeably slower.

The other people tried their best to shoot ice spells at the demons, but the more they fought, the more demons appeared and showed no signs of decreasing.

Scorching!

The sound of dark magic shot into Segal's shield with full force, causing him to stagger back several steps. Even though he blocked it, his hand was clearly trembling in pain.

"Such a powerful force… it's impossible… it's just… a demon…" Segal said in shock as he looked up and saw a situation that sent shivers down his spine.

A muscular male mage and a female mage, covered from head to toe in black, were sneering at him. They combined their powers to create a terrifyingly powerful dark magic spell.

"Die!" The female mage shouted confidently, and then their two dark magic powers gathered into a spiral and shot towards Segal.

"I won't lose!" Segal said, raising his defense magic power to its maximum and giving them all to his shield.

Clang!!!!

 The sound of metal shattering into pieces.

Aaaaahhhhhh!!!!! A voice of pain.

"Brother Segal!!!!!!!!"

The spiraling dark magic power was extremely violent and destructive. Segal's shield, which was using its full defense power, was shattered into pieces, causing the dark magic power to shoot into Segal's chest, almost shattering his body.

The dark magic power spread throughout Segal's body and began to rapidly destroy the magic energy lines in Segal's body. However, Mariel was aware of the situation in time and quickly retreated from the fight to use her healing magic power to heal and preserve her brother's life. Mariel used the remaining magic power in her body to pass through Segal's back and tried to block the destruction of the magic energy lines in Segal's body from death.

Ahhhhhh!!! Segal kept coughing up blood. His eyes widened and his body kept trembling. Right now, his situation was critical because he could die at any second.

"Brother, you can't die! No matter what I lose all my magic energy, I will keep him alive!" Mariel said with concern as she continuously released healing magic into her brother's body. 

The other mage had to take Mariel's place, as she had left the fight to save her brother's life.

In Segal's mind, he saw the spirits of his father, mother, and younger sister surrounding him. Everyone had an obvious look of concern on their faces.

"Am I dead, right?" Segal asked them sadly .

"You can't die yet; your dream hasn't even come true!" Segal's father reminded.

"Don't give up, my son." Segal's mother cheered him up.

Suddenly, his sister ran in and hugged her brother tight.

"I'm sorry for everything." Segal said, started crying but his sister used her gentle hands to wipe away his brother's tears that were overflowing and streaming down his cheeks.

"Don't blame yourself, brother. Do you remember the promise that you made to us?" his younger sister asked.

"I remember it." Segal said.

"Make it happen. Mom, Dad and I will always by your side." his younger sister said.

Then they slowly disintegrated along with smiles that sent a full of encouragement to Segal.

"That's right! I absolutely can't die until all those demons are eliminated from this world! I won't give up!" Segal said as he began to gain more and more strength.

Suddenly, Segal's body had a miraculous change that Mariel could feel it. His body twitched and transformed, but it didn't show any signs of injury like it had a moment ago. Veins began to swell all over his body. His eyes turned bright red like blood. The smoke coming out of Segal's mouth was like heat that contained anger. His two tightly clenched hands wanted to release all the magic power from his body.

"Take it back!" Segal shouted and reflected the combined dark magic power of the two of male and female mages back with full force. 

Scorching!

The two male and female mages quickly used their dark magic power to block the reflection of their power, but the surrounding demons were hit by this dark magic and their bodies were shattered.

"How is that possible!! Normal people would never be able to reflect dark magic like this!" A male mage said in a worried tone.

"Be careful! This fight wasn't easy for us now." the female mage warned, urging her dark magic power to its maximum.

In front of the two dark mages and the demons, Segal stood proud with an extremely confident expression. The dark magic power had destroyed his armor and clothes into pieces, allowing everyone to see a strong and muscular body covered in bulging veins. Segal's body was like Kehal when his master fought against Mariel before, causing everyone around him to be greatly shocked by his transformation this time.

"Big brother Segal has turned in Berserk mode too! That's amazing!" Mariel kept praising him, while Segal turned to smile at his sister with confidence.

"Let's kill them, sis!" Segal shouted as he expended the fire magic power throughout his body to its maximum level.

"Sure, Brother Segal!" Mariel replied with a smile and increased her fire magic power to prepare to attack their enemies as well.
