Main Male Leas Disqualified

Main Male Lead Disqualified C2

“If the webtoon were to be made into a live-action adaptation, would it feel like this?”

Black hair, thick eyebrows, a high and straight nose, strong jawline, and a physique so tall and solid that the infirmary bed looked small in comparison. Though his eyes are closed, his irises would probably black as well—most people had the same eye color as their hair.

Hanbin was frozen in place, staring in awe at the face that looked like it had stepped right out of a comic book.

“What am I thinking? He’s a real person.”

Hanbin is the type to get annoyed whenever people comment that a celebrity looks like a webtoon character. Yet here he is, comparing a regular person to a male lead.

He needed to snap out of it.

“Who are you?”

While Hanbin was slapping his own cheeks to focus, Jeonghwan suddenly opened his eyes. He frowns at Hanbin, who is causing a commotion between the infirmary curtains. He is already feeling unwell and now some weirdo was staring at him.

“Uh, no! I was just about to come in because I wasn’t feeling well either!”

Flustered, Hanbin quickly slipped into the bed next to him.

“Ugh, so tired.”

Letting out a groan that didn’t match his age, Hanbin yanked the curtain shut and held onto it tightly, just in case Jeonghwan tried to pull it open and pick a fight.

“Hmm?”

Jeonghwan thought Hanbin’s voice sounded strangely familiar.

“No… maybe I’m imagining things.”

Shrugging it off, Jeonghwan settled back into bed.

Oddly enough, his body suddenly felt lighter. Just moments ago, he felt like he was dying, but now he felt fine.Just as he was about to get up, he closed the curtain and lay down.

I think I’lll rest a little more before leaving.

“Huh?”

Hanbin was about to read a webtoon before going to bed when he noticed something strange.Thinking the page had glitched, he refreshed it, but no matter how many times he checked, the webtoon he had read yesterday had vanished from his library.

“I knew it. The unlocked episodes and the free event seemed too weird. Guess it was an error.”

Although the male lead had been frustrating, his good looks had made up for it. Hanbin felt a little disappointed.

“Was it a preview for a webtoon launching next month?”

It was around the time when he forgot about it, believing it was just a temporary error made by the platform.

“Wait… it’s back!”

Hanbin shot up in bed, staring at the webtoon titled , which had returned in the gift box.

“Now that I think about it, last time this webtoon showed up, it was at this exact time too.”

He tried to take a screenshot to ask about it online, but the platform’s security prevented him from capturing the screen.

“Other people must be talking about this webtoon too, right?”

However, when he searched online, no results came up. It is as if the webtoon didn’t exist for anyone else but him.

“Am I dreaming?”

Maybe his IP gained access to a test page due to a developer mistake. If this is the case, he should report it to the platform.

Episode 2: Romance in the Infirmary

Hanbin was about to contact customer support, but  he remembered that the customer service center is not available after 6 o’clock. He was about to press back but could not after seeing the episode title.

“The infirmary? That’s such a classic romance setting. But will there be romance with that male lead?

He could not resist his curiosity and clicked on it.

[Next time, watch where you’re going. Don’t wander around near the goalpost for no reason.]

The episode started right where the last one ended, with Jeonghwan’s sharp words.

Hanbin immediately frowned.

[You’re the one who wasn’t walking around with his eyes open. You got hurt too.]

The next panel is a close-up of Jeonghwan’s knee, showing blood trickling down.

[It’s fine. I’ll take care of it myself.]

Jeonghwan brushed off his knee a few times and turned to leave.judging from the way he is frowning,he seems to be quite badly injured.

[Wait, come with me. You ran over because of me and fell, right?]

[Me?]

In other webtoons, it is common for the male lead to flinch as if he had been caught. But instead, Jeonghwan just looked at the female lead like she was speaking nonsense.

[I have no idea what you’re talking about.]

[There’s no need to be embarrassed.]

Hanbin sighed. The male lead seemed completely indifferent, but since it is still early in the story, he figured that is expected.

“Well, he’ll eventually fall for her. That’s how these stories always go.”

Despite the frustrating attitude, the two of them looked good together visually. The art style is beautiful enough that it covers up any awkwardness in the storytelling.

“Since it’s the infirmary, the nurse probably isn’t there, so the female lead will treat his wound. That’s classic.”

Sure enough, the next panel showed an empty infirmary.

[The nurse isn’t here.]

In webtoons, not only in romance but also in other genres, school infirmaries are always empty. In reality, most nurses worked diligently, but fiction has its own rules.

[How did I get to the infirmary?]

Jeonghwan muttered, glancing around in confusion.

“What? Did they mess up the dialogue? Why is the male lead talking nonsense?

Hanbin squinted at the screen, confused. The male lead acting as if suddenly teleported made no sense.

[Roll up your pants. I’ll treat…]

Just as Hanbin expected, the female lead offered to help.

“Here we go.”

But the next panel left Hanbin speechless.

Hanbin doubted his eyes in the next panel. He scrolled up and down but the picture didn’t change.

Jeonghwan completely ignored the female lead’s help and skillfully cleaned the wound, applied medicine, and put on a bandage. He even sprayed pain relief on his ankle.

When the female lead tried to assist, he waved her off and said.

[Don’t even try. Are you willing to pay for the damages if a non-medical professional like you touches me and makes things worse?

Hanbin’s anger rose at Jeong-hwan’s line that was beyond imagination.

“What?! You’re not a medical professional either!”

Shouting in frustration, Hanbin is certain that if this webtoon ever officially launched, criticizing Jeong-hwan would become the top-rated comment.

“If not for his face, he’d be a villain, not a protagonist.”

He angrily poked the screen, pretending to jab Jeong-hwan’s eyes.

“How can a person like this love someone ?”

Judging from the lines and expressions of the character Jeong-hwan that are sometimes incomprehensible,it doesn’t seem like the writer is writing a solid story.

Despite the odd character development, Hanbin was curious how the writer planned to turn this into a romance.

“This was the last panel.”

When the screen wouldn’t scroll any further, Hanbin checked the comment section.

“I’m first again.”

Even though the male lead said such nonsensical things,it’s surprising that there is no comment.Instead there should have been a comment cursing at the male lead. Even the least popular webtoons usually have meaningless comments like “Ah,I’m first”,which is really strange. It seems like it is only visible to me because of a site error.

[If it were not for his face, he would be a villain. And he’s treating himself even though he’s not a doctor? I don’t get why she has to fall for this prickly guy…Yeoju wakes up. Please tell me he’s the sub, not the main one. I’m begging you.]

Hanbin wrote a sharply critical comment, hoping that his opinion would serve as feedback before the official launch.

Just above the comments, the preview for the next episode appeared.

[Episode 3: A Rainy Day Romance]

“Huh, there wasn’t a preview last time. Are they adding more now?”

“But it isn’t a test page.”

Hanbin tilted his head.

“But this webtoon always makes me super sleepy after I read it. Is it just because it’s past midnight?”

His eyelids felt heavy. He blinked slowly, and when he opened his eyes again, something about the room looked… different.

***

“Hanbin! Wake up!”

His mother nearly smacked his back, but seeing how exhausted he looked, she stopped herself.

“You went to bed before midnight, so why are you so tired?”

Hanbin frowned.

“Wait… I slept before midnight?”

“Yeah, you left your light on again, so I turned it off at exactly 12. You must have fallen asleep before that.”

Hanbin tilted his head after hearing his mother’s words.

But Hanbin distinctly remembered reading the webtoon at midnight.

“Did I imagine it?”

Hanbin thought it was strange, but figured his mother must have gotten the time wrong and shrugged it off before grabbing a vitamin drink and checking his phone.

“Huh? It’s gone again.”

The webtoon had disappeared once more.

Hanbin sighed.

“I should report this to customer service.”

As he typed out a complaint, he glanced at the time and hurriedly grabbed his bag, running out the door.

Just as he was sprinting, a wobbling bicycle crashed into his back, sending him sprawling onto the pavement.

“Urgh.”

The cyclist put his foot down, pressing a hand to his forehead as if he had a headache.

‘I guess it’s a bit much to ride a bicycle on a day when you’re not feeling well.’

Jeong-hwan is not in a good conditions, and his head began to hurt more after he thought he hit someone while riding his bike. He stopped for a moment, put his hand on his throbbing forehead, and took a deep breath. At that moment, a clear voice rang in Jeong-hwan’s ear.

“No, if you hit someone, you should run over, ask if they are okay and apologize. That’s all you can say, huh? Huh?”

Hanbin, who was sensitive because his condition was not good, and was angry because of the traffic accident, let out his anger. Hanbin, who was getting angry all the time, looked up in a strong mood.

“Huh?”

Hanbin opened his eyes wide after seeing the bicycle man’s face. It was the handsome guy he saw at the infirmary last week.

“Wait, you say it again.”

The guy stopped his bike and started to get closer to Hanbin. He was handsome, but he was scary. Hanbin hesitated and stepped back. However, before Hanbin stepped back, Junghwan came a step closer and said while pushing his face in.

“Try to get angry at me again.”
