Chapter 1: Chapter 1: Yumi and the Spell that Gone Wrong (Again)
The sun was rising over the horizon, illuminating the narrow streets of the small magical city of Kazan. Among the ancient brick buildings, the imposing Fuyu School of Magic stood out on top of a hill. It was the first day of school after the holidays, and the students were rushing to not miss their first class. But no one was in a hurry more than Yumi Takahashi, the young blonde wizard with greenish eyes.
Yumi, wearing her signature blue sorcerer's hat with a red interior, was walking hurriedly through the center of town, holding her blue crystal wand as she muttered to herself. Her blue cape with red lining fluttered in the wind as she tried to remember the teleportation spell.
— I just need to concentrate and... Ready! I'll be at school soon!" — Yumi said, smiling confidently, while pointing her wand.
She took a step back, closed her eyes and began to mutter magic words. The wand's crystal began to glow, and small sparks of magical energy danced around it. A portal began to form in front of him. But, as usual, something went wrong.
-I am Yumi Takahashi, the future great mage! Fuyu Teleportation School... No, wait... It's just ME who wants to be teleported!
In the next moment, a huge explosion of magical energy filled the place. Yumi opened her eyes and saw a blinding flash. When the light dissipated, something was different. Very different. Instead of finding themselves in front of the school, the entire Fuyu School of Magic had disappeared... along with the rest of the town.
Yumi was alone in a vast desert plain, with three red suns shining in the sky.
-Ah... What did I do this time?!" — Yumi exclaimed, throwing herself on the floor in despair. — "I just wanted to teleport... now I've teleported THE ENTIRE SCHOOL?!
Suddenly, she heard a familiar voice. — Yumi! What did you do now?
It was Kenji "Ken" Yamamoto, his best friend and eternal adventure companion. Ken was tall, with shaggy black hair, always dressed in his light and practical gray and blue cloak, suited to his skills in barrier magic and combat. His sarcastic look revealed how used he was to Yumi's antics.
— You know, I don't even know why I'm still surprised... — he said, crossing his arms while looking around. — Teleporting the entire school to a parallel dimension? That's new, even for you.
— I didn't do it on purpose! I was trying to get to class faster and... well, you know how I am! — Yumi giggled nervously as she stood up.
—Yes, I know exactly what you look like- replied Sakura Fujimoto, who was approaching elegantly. Sakura, with her long light pink hair, was dressed in an elegant lilac sorceress's dress, decorated with ancient runes. She carried an enchanted fan, which she used to cast her illusions. Sakura looked around with a calm expression, but with a slight hint of confidence.
— Parallel dimension, right? Well, at least this time it didn't turn anyone into a frog... — Sakura Fujimoto said, sighing, as she examined the strange environment.
Before they could respond, a large, imposing figure appeared out of nowhere. Ryo Tanaka, with his athletic build and a worried expression, looked around. Ryo wore light leather armor covered by a long green cape, which flapped in the wind. His earth magic made him the protector of the group, always ready to take action.
— Yumi! Are you well?! — asked Ryo, running to her. He seemed more worried about Yumi than the fact that they were in a strange dimension.
— I'm fine, but... I kind of... well, I transported the entire school to this place. Ryo was momentarily silent, then laughed nervously, scratching his head. — Of course yes... Nothing new here! — he said, with a gentle smile.
As the group tried to process what had happened, the environment around them began to change. The ground began to shake slightly and strange round creatures, resembling giant furballs, appeared from the distant hills. They made funny noises, like a mix of meows and grunts.
— What are... these things? said Kenji, with a blur of confusion and fascination. — I think they're... cute? — Yumi said, leaning in to take a closer look. One of the creatures jumped up to her, smelling her cape and then trying to chew it.
— AHHH! Is this CUTE?! This thing wants to DEVOUR ME! — Yumi shouted, while running in circles, with the little creature hanging on her cape. Kenji let out a laugh.
— It looks like you made new friends, Yumi! Sakura looked at the creatures more closely. — I think we can handle them, but we better be quick. We need to find a way to get back to our dimension before things can happen.
Suddenly, a dark shadow crossed the sky and everyone looked up. A gigantic winged creature, with three heads and enormous wings, appeared from the clouds. She let out a deafening roar.
— IS THAT what you mean by worse things, Sakura?! — Yumi asked, terrified, trying to hide behind Ryo.
— I warned you! — Sakura replied, maintaining her composure. Ryo snapped his fingers, and the ground around the group began to rise, creating a stone barrier. —Leave it to me! I'll protect everyone until we think of something! Kenji, with a specific smile, positioned himself next to Ryo, creating an additional magical barrier.
— Come on, Yumi. Now would be a great time for you to do something right for the first time today. — Oh, of course... No pressure! — Yumi muttered, raising her wand shaking with nervousness.
The winged creature descended towards the group, ready to attack. Eyes wide and in a cold sweat, Yumi closed her eyes and cast a spell. A blue flash shone, and suddenly, a huge cloud of colorful bubbles enveloped the creature.
The beast's three heads looked at each other in bewilderment as they tried to bite into the floating bubbles, their fangs passing right through them. The confusion was so absurd that even Kenji had to blink several times, not believing what he was seeing.
— Well, Yumi... it wasn't the most powerful spell, but it was certainly the strangest — said Kenji Yumi giggled, relieved. — I told you it would work! I just didn't say how!
With the monster temporarily neutralized, the group realizes that the situation is much more complex than it seems. Now, they need to find a way to escape the dimension on the side and, at the same time, deal with the strange creatures that inhabit this bizarre world.
Suddenly, the monster let out a deafening roar, causing the ground to shake. In panic, everyone started running desperately, tripping over each other, screaming. The adrenaline and chaos turned the moment into an almost comical scene, with Kenji running ahead while trying to maintain his balance.
— We're going to need a plan... or at least more bubbles! — said Kenji, with a mischievous smile, as he looked back and saw his friends stumbling and dodging the furious creature.
The winged creature's roar echoed throughout the parallel dimension, causing the group to run for their lives. After an impromptu confrontation with the three-headed monster, the team managed to neutralize the threat with a cloud of enchanted bubbles. But peace was brief. What seemed like a quick victory was about to be overshadowed by a new challenge.
