Chapter 9
08. Cut your hair
Around a little too late this afternoon, Darya visited Irma’s hairdresser.
When I knocked on the door and went inside, the woman just finished cutting her hair and was about to leave.
“Irma, thank you for yesterday. Have this for dinner if you like.”
Place a large wrap with ham and sausage on a table in the waiting space.
“Thank you, Darya. I won’t hesitate to take it. But there’s a lot of it. Have dinner at my place.”
“I’m happy, but I just want to get the job done, so next time, invite me”
Darya finished her remarks and looked in the large mirror in front of her.
A woman with dark faces looks at this one, with heavy corked tea hair just unwrought, black framed glasses on her tired face without any makeup.
“Irma, do you have any upcoming appointments?
I don’t have any more today.
“Can I ask you a favor?
“Sure. How do you do that?
“Just do it. And… undo the colors.”
Darya’s hair is dark red if not dyed.
It seems to be the same color as my mother’s, but there’s no way to be sure.
Beautiful morning burning hair. Hair like cute saffron stuffed grass (strawberry candle) – as a child, I’ve been praised for that by a maid who takes care of me.
When I was a kid, I admired my father’s sandy hair. My eyes were the same green as my father’s, so I wanted my hair to be the same.
“You’re getting longer than I thought. How far do you want to go?
“I want to keep it together while I’m working, so at that rate,”
When I loosened my hair, it was until the middle of my back.
When I lower my back to the chair in the store, Irma brushes carefully on my hair.
“I have the original curl, so it’s a little above my shoulder… can I cut it with this much?
“Yeah. I’ll take care of the rest.”
When Irma nods, she puts a white cape on Dahlia and starts cutting her hair in a familiar motion.
The light sound of the scissors echoed repeatedly.
“You’ve been stretching your hair ever since we got engaged.”
“Because it was Mr. Orlando’s hope. The hair should be longer and the calm colors should be better. After a long time, though it was hard to dye at home.”
“The original hair is even prettier for my skin”
“But red looks flashy easily”
“I think my original hair color is flashy.”
Without resting the scissors, Irma let her mouth snap just a little.
Darya’s hair falls from next to next onto the polished wood floor.
“It’s usually the wish of your fiancée or husband to tell you to come to our house and make it look plain after you get engaged or married.”
“After all, is it a lot of work or home convenience?
“Pre-built would be, but I don’t think so”
Irma stopped her hand just a little and gazed at Darya in the mirror.
Its ears are lit with piercings with colored stones. It’s the same color as Marcella’s eyes.
“I think there are a lot of guys who don’t feel confident about themselves who want to keep their women in the ground.”
“Really?
“If you clean it up, you mean you might be taken from something else, you might be invited, that’s what you’re afraid of, right? Naturally, if it’s flashy, it stands out. If I don’t want to be taken, I want to tell you to brush yourself up while I catch you properly.”
“I see, that’s what happens.”
Darya nodded.
But that doesn’t tie in at all with me.
Tobias didn’t look like he was worried about getting Dahlia.
I’d rather be on the side where they took the guy, but I don’t even think it’s a shame anymore, so fine.
When I finished cutting my hair, I moved to the hair sink at the end of the store.
When you make hot water with the demon stone of water and the demon stone of fire and dissolve the medicine to take the color you were dyeing, you soak Dahlia’s hair.
Then, twice with liquid soap, it was carefully washed and rinsed.
When I applied glossy scented oil and dried my hair with a dryer made of wind and fire demon stones, my hair fluttered to my shoulder tip.
The exorcism of the ‘hairdryer’ as it was in his previous life was developed by his father when Dahlia was a child.
To be precise, it is the cooperation between Darya’s father and Darya.
The young self, who had just begun studying magic guides, used the demonic stones of wind and fire to put together a mechanism that was compact and capable of warm winds.
I tried to surprise my father by making it in confidence, but I didn’t learn it, so I don’t really know how to calculate the output.
Properly made, what was possible was a compact but brilliant ‘flamethrower’.
I remember accidentally burning down the workplace walls and getting a big thunder from my usually warm father.
After being scolded closely, Dalya was half crying and desperately explained how it worked and what she wanted to do.
Then my father and I, who understood, were very excited and stayed up all night, and the next morning the perfect dryer was completed to dry our hair.
It’s also a familiar memory of what it’s like to let a young child stay up all night to a maid just back from vacation and then my father was pretty pissed off.
“You look great.”
“Thank you. It’s lighter and neater.”
In the mirror, a red-haired woman laughs. I haven’t seen shiny red in two years, but I’m still a little unfamiliar with it.
“I just don’t have any customers, and don’t you want a cup of coffee?
I nodded at Irma’s invitation and moved from the store to the house.
“Do you want me to clean up your move, go help you?
“It’s okay, ’cause I didn’t even have that much luggage”
When I received coffee from Irma, I added just a little more sugar than I would normally be able to put in.
“I heard a lot from Marcella yesterday. I’m sorry I can only say things that are moonlight, but, you know, you’re right to break up.”
“Well, I’m glad I broke up with you, too.”
Darya ran out of words, too.
Today, Mr. Orlando came to the tower.
“Just to reflect and apologize, right? Or do you want me to start over because I’ve reconsidered?
“No. I’ll give it to my new fiancée and she’ll give me my engagement bracelet back.”
“Buh.”
Irma’s coffee and table turned out so pathetic.
“Then, idiot, aren’t you?!
Darya rushes back to Irma, angry.
“Sorry! I should have talked to you after I finished drinking.”
“No, that’s good, but that guy, what are you thinking?!
“I’m not loose enough to buy you an engagement bracelet for your new fiancé.”
“No way, Darya, did you give it back?
“Yeah, wear earrings, too.”
“I just sold them both. It’s gonna be a lot of good money.”
Sure, money is needed to live.
I have no family, no plans to marry, and a job as a magic conductor in my hand, but I won’t let you save because it’s a job that costs a lot of money for materials and research.
but at that time, i wanted to disconnect with tobias instantly anyway.
“Anyway, all I could think about was wanting to disconnect. It might be a waste.”
“Well, I think I know how you feel… you’re a magician, you just have to work hard”
Irma re-brewed the coffee and sat in the chair.
Ask Dahlia as she puts the sugar in the cup and stirs it around.
“Hey, you want me to spread the word about Tobias? I think it’ll be a little payback. If you tell our customers, we’ll go around.”
“Stop. I was engaged to that one. That’s what makes me so popular. It seems spicy to be sympathetic. Because this engagement has already become my ‘black history'”
“‘Black History’… hehe, that’s a good thing to say”
The rhetoric in the previous life seems to have worked here as well.
Irma laughed and also brewed me a second cup of coffee for Dahlia.
“Darya will find someone better.”
“I don’t know about that for the time being…… the job is interesting. Besides, I think I might as well take an apprentice when I become an old gray-haired woman and make her aspire to be a better magician than myself.”
“I guess as a friend we should stop, but something, that’s cool too…”
The two laughed from time to time and talked in until near dusk.
