"Master——" The fish flopped around wildly on the floor, struggling, trying to find a way to survive. But how could a fish continue to survive without water?

Nian Bing flew to the front of the lounge chair, tightly gripping Cha Ji's hand. His own hand was shaking, and so was his heart.

Cha Ji's hand was already a bit cold, and there was no rise and fall at his chest. Nian Bing's trembling finger was placed under Cha Ji's nose. He was expecting, hoping, but everything was so cruel. All hope had turned into mere illusions. Cha Ji was gone, succumbing with a satisfied smile on his face.

Tears uncontrollably poured down. Nian Bing, in extreme grief, could surprisingly not make a sound. His body kept shaking, and scenes from the past kept flashing through his mind. Cha Ji had saved him, brought him to Peach Blossom Forest, and imparted all his knowledge to him. Over the years, Cha Ji had cared for him as if he were his own father. Only eight years, why just a short period of eight years? Master! Nian Bing was still waiting for you to see him reach the peak of culinary arts. How could you just go like this? Didn't you want to see Nian Bing become the top chef? Master, why did you have to die, why?

Nian Bing's heart was bleeding. Besides the time when he was in Ice God Tower, this was the saddest moment of his life. Bowing his head, tears fell onto the ground. He saw the Righteous Sun Knife with a faint heat flow flowing along the blade. That was his master's favorite thing. On the ground, a few crooked lines appeared, "Nian Bing, I'm afraid I won't be able to wait for the fish soup you're making. Actually, ever since my tendons broke, my heart died with them. For a chef, not being able to personally prepare a dish that they have learned is worse than death. I kept clinging to life after that, not wanting to let my culinary skills die with me. Nian Bing, your master is selfish. Here, let me say sorry to you. Although I am gone, my skills remain. I believe that you will continue to pass down what you have learned, amplifying the greatness of culinary arts and becoming the best chef. I don't want to leave so soon. But, my body has long been unable to bear it. Every time, I've told myself that I need to hold on until you surpass me. Heaven has not been unkind to me. He let me hold on until this day. Nian Bing, do you know? When I saw your cooking skills surpassing mine, my heart was extremely excited, much more excited than being able to cook with my own hands again. Don't be sad, it's pointless. Pour all your emotions into your mastery of cooking and learning magic. Finally, I must remind you, revenge is necessary, but you should act according to your abilities. I must go now. After you come back and see this, take what you should take and leave my body alone. I like this lounger. Burn everything here. If I can turn into ashes in your fire magic, I can die content." By the time he wrote the last few words, they were already very blurry. If it weren't for Nian Bing's familiarity with Cha Ji's handwriting, it would be hard to recognize, especially the last character "so," Cha Ji only wrote half of it.

"Master, are you really gone?" Nian Bing's tears had already soaked Cha Ji's chest. He carefully combed Cha Ji's hair neatly, stood up, took a step back, and knelt on the ground with a thud, hitting the ground nine times with his forehead, "Master, I know, you don't want to see a weak Nian Bing. Don't worry, I will become strong. From the moment I left the Ice God Tower, I told myself to be strong. Tears should only flow from the eyes of the enemy. But today, I cried. Master, rest assured, as long as Nian Bing is alive, I will fulfill your last wish and carry forward the culinary arts. This is my promise to you."

He stood up, sheathed the Righteous Sun Knife, and firmly wiped the tears from his face. After taking a deep last look at Cha Ji's body, he resolutely walked out of the room.

The wind was calm and the clouds were light. The sunlight cast into the Peach Blossom Forest, creating scattered shadows on the ground. The breeze brushed against his face, bringing the fragrance of peach blossoms. Nian Bing took a deep breath, suppressing his inner grief. According to Cha Ji, he took some purple gold coins from the empty wall in the kitchen, and simply wrapped them in a bundle and carried it on his back.

One step, another step, he kept moving forward. When Nian Bing took his seventeenth step, he abruptly turned around, "Master! I must take my leave. On the day I've honed my skills, I shall return here to mourn your spirit. Fire! Burn on, intense flames, in my name, I command you. Roaring, raging flames, follow my lead, reduce everything to ashes. A Prairie of Fire". As the Righteous Sun Knife unsheathed, a radiant red light burst forth. Clear points of red light visibly came together towards Nian Bing's body. The intense heat engulfed Nian Bing's body, as though he was the embodiment of a flaming war god. Pointing with the Righteous Sun Knife, flames erupted, instantly consuming the two wooden houses beyond the kitchen.

Staring at the immense fire before him, Nian Bing seemed to envision the smile of his master again. His vision blurred, but he fiercely resisted letting his tears fall. Deep within he made a vow that from this day forward, he would grow stronger. Only the strong could live longer, and only then could he best fulfill his wishes and his master's.

A Prairie of Fire, fourth rank large scale fire magic. Although it's also fourth rank magic, due to its wide coverage, only an advanced level mage could wield it. The searing flames soon reduced the wooden house where Nian Bing had lived for eight years to cinders, and along with it, his master, the Ghost Chef, Cha Ji, also fell into the eternal dust.

Everything had vanished. With tears in his eyes, Nian Bing embarked on the journey that Cha Ji had set out for him. He had no idea what lay ahead, but he knew very well, no obstacles could halt his steps.

The Peach Blossom Forest returned to its previous calm, the ruins of the wooden house emitting wisps of blue smoke. An hour after Nian Bing's departure, the original pile of ashes abruptly shifted, a few sounds of broken wood echoing. An entire plank flipped from beneath, and a stumbling figure emerged as if crawling out from under the ground, covered with dust.

"Clever lad, you're really ruthless! If I hadn't acted quickly, I would've really ended up as ashes." The figure that suddenly crawled out from the ruins was none other than Cha Ji, who was previously presumed dead.

Dusting off the dust from his body, he seemed quite spirited, not showing any signs of illness. Looking in the direction Nian Bing had left, Cha Ji laughed, "You fool, I had to deceive you once more. If I hadn't made you believe that I was dead, how could you focus fully on pursuing the pinnacle of culinary arts? Damn, this turtle breathing technique could really harm people. Luckily, I've been practicing for a long time, so I could hold my breath for long enough. Well, it was burnt down so clean, it seems I have no choice but to leave. Should I find her? Let go, since I have nothing left here. I will do what I have always wanted to do. If I could see her again, I would die in contentment. Nian Bing, journey well, maybe one day, we, as master and disciple will meet again. Ha-ha, ha-ha-ha-ha."

Nian Bing was walking on the highway, his heart still immersed in the grief of Cha Ji's demise, obliviously duped by his master once again. The Righteous Sun Knife and the Morning Dew Knife were both tucked in his arms, the alternating flows of cold and heat constantly stimulating his body. Since the ice magic power continuously circulated within his body, he didn't feel the heat despite the bright sunshine.

Bing Xue City, the master asked me to go to Bing Xue City, then I must head there first.

Not needing the cart, not having to follow Cha Ji's footsteps, Nian Bing walked fast. He suddenly wanted to leave, forsake this heart-wrenching place. But he also knew, he would return here someday, that time; the bitter and resentful Rong Nianbing will be returning.

"Great ice element! Please lend me your fury, send us across this lost shore. - Blizzard." With nobody on the highway, Nian Bing voiced a large-scale ice attribute spell. The surrounding air instantly grew cold. Under the influence of the blue magic power, the Ice-Snow Goddess Stone released a massive magical effect. Snow and wind combined, turning the area covered by the magic power into an ocean of snow. With a slight smile, his body moved, swiftly and abruptly. He was already wielding the Morning Dew Knife. Wrapped in the faint blue light, his body moved with the wind and snow, levitating, and although not too high, but with an astonishing speed. In the blink of an eye, he disappeared at the end of the road.
