Chapter 644: Heated Debate Over Inheritance, Part 4
"Who suggested we come here to gather concept intelligence?" Igula gritted his teeth, almost raising his hand to smack Ash on the head, but seeing Ash's cute red-haired girl exterior, he reluctantly put his hand down.
"The Four Pillars God Sect has stopped their attack and is voluntarily pulling back their frontline." Gwen put down the information in her hand, which she had collected from various channels tonight: "The frontline is in a standoff position."
"It's normal; the primary target of all mages now is the Angel Inheritance. Even faith wars have to pause for it." Igula lightly tapped the table with his index finger. "Who would've thought a war could be forcibly paused for this reason?"
Senluo Wasteland is undoubtedly the place most affected by the Angel Inheritance—in other countries it might just spark social debate, but in Senluo, it can suppress social unrest!
But when you think about it, it's not surprising. No matter your nation, faith, or race, as long as you can log into the Void Realm, you qualify to challenge the Angel Inheritance.
Even if Mercury Wooden Horse and Qinri Alliance ignore the mages' strong desire for the Angel Inheritance and demand they continue fighting, can't they just goof off, avoid battles, and conserve their energy during the day, waiting for the inheritance challenge at night?
Unless you can stop mages from logging into the Void Realm, no matter how tight the real-world cage, it cannot imprison a mage whose heart has somewhere to go.
"Speaking of which, what progress have you all made?" Ash asked.
Igula: "Just cleared the fifteenth level last night."
Harvey: "Still on the twelfth level."
"I only played on the first day and haven't gone back since," Qikara scratched his head.
"Why not go?" Everyone was surprised. "This is the Angel Inheritance."
"But I'm neither interested in the Soul Faction nor the Prophetic Faction, and I have no talent for them," Qikara shrugged. "My Seven-Colored Wings are already fully formed, and there's nothing to gain in Ghost Inheritance. It's better to continue exploring Illusions."
"Perhaps the Void Realm particularly favors honest kids like me. Last night, I encountered a word suffix bubble and got a super rare Technique Spirit!" said the Beastman Sacred Realm, who excelled in robbery and arson.
Igula was surprised, "Really? So lucky? I'm so envious of you."
Qikara proudly patted his chest, "It's not luck but the inevitable result of my years of diligent cultivation!"
"Then during the day, give me that super rare Technique Spirit."
"Ah? Why would I! It's my thing!"
"Did you forget you're our slave now?" Igula said mercilessly.
"No—" Qikara clung to the blonde bespectacled girl, pouting and whining, making Ash think that coming to Black Robe Town wasn't in vain. Otherwise, he might never have seen such a scene...
However, Ash and the others silently raised their evaluation of Qikara by a grade.
For Qikara to be a Holy Sanctuary Mage, he certainly isn't naive. He is aware the Angel Inheritance doesn't benefit him, decisively abandoning this once-in-a-millennium opportunity. Such discipline and execution are far superior to other Holy Sanctuary Mages.
In fact, his immediate surrender in the Dead City shows he won't be swayed by honor, greed, or luck. He always acts according to his needs—taking what he requires and discarding what he doesn't, never hesitating or being confused.
It's hard to predict the future of someone like Qikara. Perhaps his decisiveness will make him soar, or perhaps his shortsightedness will lead to demise, but one thing is certain—
He's very enviable.
Never doubting himself, never regretting decisions, always blaming others instead of complaining about himself... living like Qikara would make life much happier.
"Compared to the blank concepts, I'm more interested in the Divine Lord's rewards," Harvey said, fingers pinching a fry as if simulating smoking, "A Heavenly Kingdom... does that mean a mage who obtains the Heavenly Kingdom can become the Divine Lord?"
"If someone aside from a Two-winged Mage has a Holy Domain, would that make them a Holy Sanctuary Mage?" Ash questioned, "Though it may not be directly comparable, I think the Void Realm won't allow mages to exploit such loopholes. However, attaining both the Heavenly Kingdom and the Divine Lord Inheritance would certainly make it easier to break through human limits."
"But the Heavenly Kingdom left behind by the Thousand Wishes Phantom after its death..." he pondered, "So the Divine Lord can die too...?"
Igula's mind was shaken. After observing Ash closely and confirming he hadn't maliciously tied it to other thoughts, he breathed a sigh of relief and quickly changed the topic, "Ash, do you want anything else to eat?"
"Let me see..."
Ash looked at the menu and suddenly noticed the milk tea in front of Black Crow was untouched. Looking closer, Black Crow hadn't even taken off his mask, and realizing everyone had been discussing topics about the Void Realm unfamiliar to Black Crow, he felt a slight tug at his heart.
He put down the menu, saying, "I'm tired of the food here. I'll go buy some snacks outside. Tamasi, come help me carry things."
Black Crow paused, then stood up to follow in his footsteps. Igula glanced at their backs and shook his head, pushing Qikara's face with his foot to move him away.
