Loosh was in surprisingly good health when we found her, though she was exhausted after all the healing she'd had to do.

I was bandaged and needed to rest, so I took light duties and just spent the next cycle going around threatening and cajoling the people we could get to in Peralt's network.

Moll was invaluable with that, because his involvement changed people's perception of what had happened. We encouraged the story that he'd killed Peralt, and I gave him a place as my right-hand man and a figurehead in lots of cases as part of the new leadership. It meant the takeover appeared internal, rather than a gang war that Peralt lost.

All told, we had saved and converted over seven-hundred of Peralt's people and made sure all of his businesses continued as they were.

As Loosh reminded me nightly as we settled down. None of that would have been possible without the Siroth's organizational skills and echoes already in place.

She was right, of course, but I suspected she was reinforcing their importance because she sensed I would be turning my back on the Siroth very soon, now I was technically as powerful as Peralt.

She needn't have worried. I wasn't intending to break away until I understood exactly how all of the businesses worked and I knew the names of each and every echo.

When I did make my move, I'd need to make sure I could remove them root and branch.

All things to contemplate later. Right now I was all about keeping what we'd won and nowhere was that more important than the treasure room.

Peralt had been a serious hoarder and once the hard yards of settling everyone down was done, I spent a full day picking through all of his gear.

Despite not being able to use half of the enchantments on my new gear, I actually started feeling like a multi-world gang lord.
