Mage Legend

Chapter 545: Travel and Travel Beyond Chapter Fifty-Four Giant Object_3

The answer to unraveling all mysteries must be hidden behind that archway. Lynch stared in a daze at the entrance, towering over twenty meters high. Such a gigantic entrance could easily allow a Titan Giant to pass through effortlessly, but the stone bridge they crossed would certainly not permit such a large creature to cross. So, what exactly was this place built for? Merely for the pursuit of grandeur? Lynch approached the gate, letting the light from his magic wand illuminate the carvings on the archway. On the smooth and clear stone wall, a large amount of text was inscribed with silvery-white rock iron.

As Lynch looked from one end to the other, he was secretly amazed. The content on it used complex and intricate expressions, many of which Lynch, who prided himself on mastering languages, had never seen before. Morgan found ancient Dwarf Language on it, but Zilvra did not discover any traces of Drow Language.

"The construction here must be over a thousand years old, at least before the God War," Lynch said. "The builders who could collect so many languages would not deliberately abandon Dark Elf Language, unless the Drow had not yet emerged at that time."

"That's true!" Morgan pointed at the words on the wall and said, "Since they dare to call this place the Omniscient Temple, they must naturally have a great understanding of the world's knowledge. But I want to see, who has such a big mouth? Can they even know my Morgan's carving techniques?"

The group stepped through the gate. On the bridge, they could admire the grandeur here, but now they could only lament their insignificance. In such immensely large structures, they were like unnoticed grains of sand in a corner. Even though Lynch used all his power to illuminate the path, it was only like the light of a firefly on a summer night, never able to illuminate the vast and deep night sky.

Fortunately, the massive entrance hall was not long; otherwise, the heavy sense of oppression here would have long shaken their confidence to continue forward. A spiraling staircase appeared before them, the tall steps even exceeding their height. Looking up, the densely packed steps spiraled upwards, leading to an unseen dome.

"I say, can we climb up there?" Morgan sighed. "Only a Giant or Titan would have the stamina and body to climb here. To be honest, this is the first time I've been a bit envious of their height."

"So, you finally started to confront your shortcomings; I should congratulate you," Zilvra said. "Lynch, this is really too difficult here. Even my Floating Technique can't sustain to the top of the stairs. Do you have enough Flying Magic?"

"I think we might not need to fly up," Lynch's gaze never lifted to look at the stairs but focused on the floor of the room. He walked over to a low rock and tapped it lightly with his magic wand. "What do you say, everything along the way is so tidy, but why is there a lonely rock here?"

"I don't know either, it might be some mechanism!" Morgan came over, holding a warhammer. The rock suddenly shivered and moved away from the Dwarfs' direction. Lynch hurriedly cast a force field wall to trap the thing.

"Reveal your true form!" Lynch pointed his magic wand at the rock. "Are you an enemy or a friend, immediately declare!"

The stone somersaulted a few times within the transparent force field, finally stopping its roll. It wobbled a few times, revealing four silvery-gray little eyes, blinking at the three of them.

"What exactly is this thing?" Zilvra asked. "Undead or Constructed Creatures? I can't hear it breathing; likely, it doesn't have any life at all!"

Lynch was also very puzzled as he looked at the rock with eyes. In his heart, he agreed with Zilvra's words that the creature had no life aura. If his Eye of Insight was not malfunctioning, he could perceive through the creature and discover its secrets. But now, he could only open his mouth to inquire.

"Lynch! I know what this is!" the Dwarf suddenly laughed and jumped up, embracing the Mage's body. "This is a Rock Spirit, the legendary Rock Spirit! We indeed found that place!"

Lynch barely managed to free himself from the Dwarf, or else those tightly clasped arms would break his ribs. He seized the excited Morgan. "What on earth are you talking about? Rock Spirit? What have we found? Explain it clearly."

"Let's not talk about this first, Lynch, do you have gemstones with you? Give me a few," Morgan stretched out his hand and said, "Set this cute little fellow free, it won't harm anyone."

Zilvra frowned, increasingly questioning Morgan's aesthetic standards. How could a messy rock be associated with cuteness?

The Mage took out a bag of gemstones and handed it to Morgan, then released the magic barrier. The Dwarf cheerfully pulled out a Yellow Crystal Stone, displaying it with his fingers to the Rock Spirit. The stone, which initially tried to slip away quickly, indeed stopped, its little eyes gazing at Morgan. It seemed to be attracted by the gemstone's glow, desperately wanting it but hesitating to approach.

The Dwarf tossed the Yellow Crystal Stone to it, and the Rock Spirit only pressed the gemstone under its body after it settled. The Dwarf then took out an emerald green jade, at which point the Rock Spirit ran to the Dwarf's side. Although it lacked any muscles to make expressions, Lynch clearly felt the longing in its eyes. The Dwarf gave the emerald to the Rock Spirit, then gently patted the stone. The Rock Spirit was obviously no longer afraid of Morgan and followed him without wanting to leave.

"Lynch, no doubt about it, we've discovered that legendary gigantic treasure!" Morgan said. "According to records, a Dwarf prospector once discovered moving stones, which inherently loved and collected gemstones. He named them Rock Spirits and formed a bond of friendship with these amiable and kind creatures. The Rock Spirits then led him through the Gem River, allowing him endless time beneath the earth. In the end, the Dwarf left, recording his exploration journal but was never able to find his way back to the treasure he discovered."

"Is this the clue you used to locate treasures?" Zilvra said. "But truly, congratulations. After that Dwarf, you became the second little one to find a Rock Spirit. As the proverb goes: Dwarves grow like stones, their tempers like stones, their bodies like stones, and they love stones, who says they aren't stones?"

But by then, Morgan was already riding on the Rock Spirit's head, being carried around by the stone, occasionally rewarding it with a few more shimmering gemstones. Unexpectedly, despite its clumsy appearance, the Rock Spirit actually had a very flexible body. Lynch initially cheered for the Dwarf with laughter, but he gradually became serious.

"Morgan, have you ever considered a problem, the few gemstones just now have completely disappeared," Lynch said. "If they feed on gemstones, the so-called Gem River may have long turned into a dry tunnel." The Mage raised his hand, pointing at the enormous stairs above. "Moreover, do you think the gemstones in our possession are enough to appease the Rock Spirits that are flocking over? You might have attracted all the moving stones here..."
