Mage Legend

Chapter 488: Travel and Non-Travel Travel Chapter Thirty-Seven Sea Banquet_2

"Thank you for your kindness, Captain," Lynch said with a smile. "I'm just looking for some fun; winning or losing doesn't matter."

"That's good, Mr. Lynch. I've got to go take care of something," Jebor quickly vanished up the ship's ladder. He had already completely forgotten about the strange sounds he'd heard.

Lynch picked up the Powerful Wand standing in the corner, its Necroman Magic Pearl shrouded in a gray mist. Within this swirling thick cloud, pairs of eyes could faintly be seen peering out. Lynch murmured a spell, the white light emitted from his palm pressing the gray smoke back into the magic pearl, restoring everything to calm.

"I didn't expect to attract so many vengeful spirits in these waters and even found quite a few banshees. Could there be a dangerous reef nearby?" Lynch shook his head and said, "Haven't been out for a few days; I wonder if Zilvra would be angry. Hopefully, tonight's party will brighten her mood."

The first to see the mage stepping onto the deck was the fishing Knight Macken, who had taken up fishing after discovering Soka's great fondness for fish. The old knight waved at Lynch in greeting before turning his attention back to his fishing line.

"Lynch, you finally came out," Zilvra said, throwing a wooden piece far away, nearly missing the target with Soka. "It's not easy; it seems your research has made some progress, right?"

"It's still far off; studying that stuff isn't an overnight thing," Lynch stood by the ship's railing, letting the little angel take a break. He said, "Since it's a long haul, I'm not in a hurry. There's a party tonight; I can take it easy for a change."

"A party?" Soka pounced in excitement, "Lynch brother, does that mean there'll be lots of delicious food?"

"Of course there will be." Then, Lynch introduced them to the customs of Ningfeng Day, advising them to avoid returning to the cabin after nightfall to respect the crew's taboo, and said, "I'll go check on Macken's fishing rod; he keeps failing to catch big fish, and that's just not the party spirit."

"I'm looking forward to tonight's show then," Zilvra smiled and said, "Hope it's as fun as you say."

"It will be, it will be." Lynch came to Knight Macken's side, patting his shoulder, "Knight, what are you planning to catch with that? Doesn't look like your catch is doing well."

"You've been off the deck these days; how do you know that?" Knight Macken jerked his hand up but found nothing on the hook. He was somewhat disappointed, preparing to re-bait it, and said, "Should I switch to a net? This is really slow."

"Yes. If you work fast, I'll be able to enjoy more fresh seafood these days," Lynch took Macken's fishing rod and examined the hook material carefully, "Although not ideal, it's still usable. Today, I'll show you how to fish."

After speaking, Lynch surveyed his surroundings to ensure no crew members were looking their way, quietly casting a magic spell on the hook before swiftly tossing the now yellow-glowing hook into the water.

"Hold the rod, Knight Macken," Lynch placed the rod in his hand, then picked up a rope on the deck to tie around the knight's waist, "Hold on tight, a big fish will surely bite."

Macken watched as the mage tied him to the ship, feeling both nervous and curious, "Lynch, what are you trying to catch? What kind of fish?"

"Shark," Lynch said with a smile, "I cast a charming animals spell on the hook; the bigger the shark, the more it'll see the hook as a tasty morsel. They definitely won't let go, and won't be able to, so it'll be up to you then."

"Shark? Is that tasty?" Macken gripped the rod tightly, fully aware of the danger of such creatures living in Moon Harbor City, naturally giving his all to battle it, "Will it cause any harm to the ship?"

"No, no," Lynch's Eye of Insight kept watching around the hook, suddenly shouting, "Everyone hold onto something nearby, the ship's about to rock violently!"

After about a quarter of an hour, Jebor looked heartbrokenly at a few good bottles of wine knocked over in the turbulence, Soka rubbing a little bump on her head, while the white tiger, still dizzy, couldn't walk straight "cat steps," and Lynch laughed heartily at the sweat-drenched Macken, "Knight, how was it? Got your workout in, huh?"

"Indeed," Knight Macken tossed aside the broken fishing rod, sheathing his heavy sword back. Yet he contentedly looked at the massive shark tied to the ship's side. Such a battle was enough to carve a shark's pattern on his old armor. Wiping his sweat, he said, "This'll be enough to feed everyone on the ship."
