Chapter 485: Travel and Non-Travel Travel Chapter Thirty-Six Mission_2
"Don't always call me sir, my name is Lynch, just call me that." He thought for a moment and said, "Is it Bob the Barrel who told you to call me that?"
"Ah, yes!" Jebor laughed and said, "He told us, 'This time it's a prince and princess from the Mysterious Country coming on board, so don't neglect them, or you won't be able to dock at Mislanda Port again.' Mr. Lynch, to be honest, we sailors are quite afraid of the tavern owner. If we upset them, there won't be any cool rum to soothe our throats, and that's scarier than having no ocean to sail on."
"Yes, I feel the same way." Lynch smiled and agreed, "I've been meaning to ask, how's the food on board? If there's a good cook here, this journey would be perfect."
"Everyone who sails on the sea is a good chef, you can rest assured on that." Jebor patted his chest, "And this vast ocean is the richest market; I guarantee everyone's appetite will be satisfied. Also, in the hold below, there are quite a few fruits and vegetables stored. To be honest, because of the passengers on board, we sailors can also enjoy some nice food on the return trip, always having fresh things to eat."
"That's up to you guys to handle." Lynch pointed to the sea and said, "If possible, we'd love to have more seafood. Besides, the fishmen along the route shouldn't pose much of a threat now, right?"
"Yes! That's the best news for us!" Captain Jebor gently stomped his foot three times, perhaps a habit to express his joy, or symbolically stepping on those fishmen, he said, "The elves did brilliantly this time, finally giving those creatures a lesson. Remember, when the ship is empty, the Conch's swift speed can escape those greedy ones; but whenever we're fully loaded, we have to buy the right to sail safely from them, or face threats to the hull, and no sailor would be in a good mood. It's said that sometimes, even after paying, if they fancy the goods in the hold, they'll still sink the ship. Mr. Lynch, is it true these creatures have especially keen noses?"
"That I'm not sure about." The Mage saw Zilvra and Soka approaching and smiled at Jebor, "Let me introduce you to the two ladies."
But Jebor just gave a slight bow and then apologetically said, "I'm sorry, Mr. Lynch. Though I'd love to meet two beautiful ladies, it's better not to make such introductions to keep my crew at ease. You know, many people are still quite superstitious." He said as he retreated, "Wish you all a pleasant time."
Soka, always carrying a white tiger in her arms, skipped over to the Mage's side: "Brother Lynch, just how big is this blue ocean?"
"I don't know either." Lynch greeted Zilvra first, then explained to the Angel, "Due to terrifying storms on the ocean, there are still many places in this sea we haven't been able to explore. Perhaps someday you'll be able to fly over this whole body of water with your wings."
"Then I'd definitely get lost." Soka shook her head, "If I fly too far, I wonder if I could even find my way back to the ship."
"I think there won't be a problem." Lynch playfully tapped the Angel's nose, "I know you have an extremely keen sense of smell and can always find the hidden fruits each time."
"Soka, your little tiger should be well by now." Zilvra looked at the shy little girl and said, "You should put it down and let it move around some more; that way it will grow faster."
"Okay!" Soka released her arms, and the fluffy white ball finally gained its freedom, happily running around the deck. Soka chased after it, with the sounds of laughter and 'thump thump' footsteps echoing across the ship.
"Zilvra, this is the ocean." Lynch asked her with a smile, "How do you feel about it now?"
"I can't really say. I have mixed feelings." Zilvra held onto the ship's railing and said, "On one hand, it feels freeing, making me feel open and relaxed; on the other hand, I increasingly feel so small and confined by the vastness of this world. No matter how powerful I become, I can't escape this cage. Lynch, do you ever feel this way?"
