Mage Kings Rise

"Those of you who will try flaunting your titles will be greatly disappointed within this is institution of education. All the mages here are not tied down by mere nobles with no power, and abuse of your titles will not be tolerated and those who will use their power to bully the weak, just consequences will be felt as per the schools rules. You are dismissed, bid your families farewell and you will be directed further by your year's homeroom teacher, Professor Penelope Bloom." The old man said and finished by pointing at a young woman with long red hair and in red robes with blue edges to them.

The guards escorted us back to the academy's entrance. My parents were there and after bidding them farewell we all met up at the academy's grand Hall. Our homeroom teacher, Professor Penelope Bloom was there with a list of all the students and after reading out the entire list. She handed everybody a map of the school and a booklet containing the academy rules and the consequences to them if broken.

"The school will provide you with all you require and it is up to you to grow your power with the guidance you receive. Head to your respective dorms now, your uniform will be delivered to your dorms. Classes begin the day after tomorrow so don't get too comfortable." Professor Penelope Bloom said to the students. They went to their own respective dorms after they were released by her.

The dorms had been assigned depending on origin, with the purpose of preventing conflict between nobles and commoners but they were all the same except for one set aside for the school's year power houses, the white dragon dorm that was occupied by the school's year power houses which were picked from each year and would hold eight students, no more no less.

Aldin Randell

I had been assigned the white dragon dorm. In comparison to others, it was closer to the classes and was also bigger.

When I got inside, the lobby was empty. I chose to head to my room. Sometime later I got a knock on my door, it was my uniform which consisted of a few robes, which were black and had coloured trimmings and other casual wear together with a golden badge.

I could now settle in the room and unpack my personal items. In the evening I went out for dinner and now in my uniform. We dinned in a large hall. It was occupied by several tables and we would get our food from one end and dine on the table.

I sat down at a table and ate my dinner in silence before a group came over and joined me.

Natalie Solivar

I had come to the capital to partake in the trials of the Lorne Magic Academy. It was tough but I'd been able to attain second place. After getting settled into my room I left for dinner and as I was leaving for the dining hall I heard a loud noise from the training hall. I headed to the source of the noise and found my roommates sparring. It was impressive seeing them fight.

Only after they finished their battles did they notice my arrival.

"It seems this year's first years have finally arrived.' One of them said as he walked out of the ring. "I'm Barrin Evans, of the fourth year."

He was a blue-haired tall muscular guy and so the others followed suit. Terias was a tall beautiful girl with red hair and was also in her forth year with Barrin.

The second-year students were Olivia a girl almost my age with brown hair and Mark Elvan a blonde haired tall boy.

"And I'm Natalie Solivar, second place in the entry trials. But where are the third years." I asked after introducing myself.

"They're on their outing, though they'll be back soon," Barrin said with excitement. "And where's your number one." He added.

"I don't know but I think he also headed out for dinner. That's where I was also headed until I heard you guys down here."

"Then let's head out as well," Terias said. "But first we have to get changed." She said and once they had changed we headed out. Everywhere we went all the students gawked at us, after we got our servings we headed to where the first year's number one was but he had others on his table already so we searched for another table but as we were eating a loud cry was heard.

Aldin Randell

I was quietly taking my dinner when a group of students came by my table and from the looks of it they weren't first years. Among them was the Eddy kid from the trial.

"You should have dropped out from the battle when I told you two, now you'll leave here as a corpse." He said with a smirk on his face. "isn't that right Melvin." He said this time facing one of the boys.

"Yes sir." He answered and facing me added. "Leave your food and follow us now."

Looking at the front surrounding me they all seemed to be of noble origin.

"If you have the strength to I'd like to see you try." I said to them.

I had said this mainly to send them away but they reacted by throwing my food unto my face.

"Know you place you rat." One of the minions said.

I would have simply ignored them but now they had to pay.

"You disrespect me bluntly without a care and calm me a rat, what luck of class and now you go ahead and spill my food on me. Then there going to be consequences for that." Before they could even say another word I froze them whole to the table and stood up to leave but one of them had freed himself, Melvin, with both his hands he conjured a fire attack and fired it at me.

"Die you filthy being." I heard him shout as the attack came at me.

The attack was easy to black since I used water magic to form an ice gauntlet let on my arm but it resulted in a large explosion getting the whole hall's attention and when the smoke from the smothered flame cleared I could see my arm, the gauntlet had several cracks on it before it fell off.

"Seems I have to get serious now." I said loud enough for Melvin to clearly hear me.

The academy had banned reckless combat among students. But once in a while fights would take place among students and so the rule was adjusted that excessive harm was not allowed. Some would use this opportunity to bully and at times the school was forced to get involved.

Right now a fight had broken between Aldin of the first year and Melvin of the second year. One of the guards had to get involved.

Aldin Randell

As I was going to fire an attack at Melvin I felt an arm on my shoulder.

"Do you wish to proceed?" He asked.

"Yes," I affirmed and he walked back to watch what would happen.

Melvin jumped towards me with flames in his arms. When he was close enough I used light to blind him and kicked him in the stomach and sent him flying back.

He landed on his friends. As he was still down I walked towards him and crouched next to him, held him by his hair and pulled up his face to look at me.

"the next time you get close to me, you'll never forget it." I said to him straight to the face."

After executing my revenge I felt content and walked away. Since all my food had been poured down my face cleaned it away using water magic and went for a second serving but everywhere I went all eyes would be on me but none of them chose to approach me.

After getting my food I went and sat on an empty table. But before I even got to take a bite another group sat next to me.

"what is it?" I asked curious about their reasons to sit there.

"Well, we're your dorm mates and chose to sat next to you as nobody was wiling to."

"Nice to meet you all, I'm Aldin Randell," I said to introduce myself.

They all followed suit and introduced themselves as well.

"So we have that dorm all to ourselves."

"Well yes, but that's because we're the best of each year, and thus are treated with great respect," Terias answered.

"And speaking of the best of the best do any of you know Darvin Talor, I couldn't find him in the hall when I came in."

Immediately everyone except Natalie went stiff.

"How do you know that name?" Barrin asked.

"Well he's my best friend and I was hoping to meet him." I calmly answered.

"WHAT!" They all shouted in unison and at the worst possible time, the whole hall was silent.

After a while, they all explained how unsocial he was, and he was also known as the school's strongest students since even Barrin had not been able to beat him and that the third years were currently away on an outing and would soon be back.
