Chapter 12: Evolution
******
Beasts advance from non-attributed to attributed and further on they become magical beasts able to use magic like human beings, the worst part about this is that the power of a magical beast is great and requires great mages for them to be taken down and within magical beasts they are broken down in five tiers. These are the commonly known class used to separate them according to their level of evolution and strength they hold.
Humans are also grouped but directly in tiers in an ascending order.
Richard had initially been facing a tier-one magical beast but just as he was about to land the finishing blow its evolution began.

'I don't think Richard will make it,' I thought to myself as I saw the beast swat him away, he crushed into a tree, and the beast continued to roar, it grew bigger and the mana in the air was getting taken in.
I dashed forward to protect Richard from the beast.
He had passed out when I got there so I carried his body to a place far away from the beast, the area had calmed down when I looked back and the beast seemed perfectly fine when I looked at it, and I could not leave it be, it would cause a lot of trouble.
I fired an ice bullet at it, it was a successful hit but it only left a slight tear on it. For other beasts, it would lead to an instant death and all it did was get its attention.
"If that attack did nothing then I have to go all out," I said to myself.
I fired a large ice orb at it and it was pushed back, as it was getting its footing back I formed my ice armour all over my body, it jumped at me ready to maw me but I dodged it and fired large earth projectiles at it , this only succeeded in piercing its stomach. I continued approaching me, and I used a flash of light to blind it. As it was dazed, I went behind it to stab it with an ice sword. But an earth spice rose almost piercing, but thanks to my armour, I was unscathed. I moved back a bit, but they kept on coming at me, I found myself way back due to the beast's attacks and if I wanted to take it down I had to bring out all my cards.
Using a lot of water in the air I condensed it into a giant blade and now I could attack it but before I could even begin the panther pounced at me, I swung the blade at the approaching beast, and the beast was able to dodge it and I had to move back but I the end I was able to strike it and when I did a wound opened up but the beast continuously came at me and was able to bite my arm.
As it continued coming at me I used this to bring the ice blade fast towards it and pierced its side which caused it to roar out of anger but I was unable to notice the stone shard that rose from the ground until it had pierced my arm, my arm was aching and I had to freeze to stop the bleeding. The pain was great but I had to endure it, if I didn't then the beast would take that chance to take me down.
The beast stumbles up and I used earth spikes to hit it. It tanked the hits and from behind it I used my strongest spell, a light sword and with one go I pierced its head killing it instantly. I could finally rest but as fate would have had it that was not happening. The clouds became dark, the ground began quaking and a pillar of light fell on me.
I had hoped for this but it had come at the wrong time and so mana filled the air rain began poring hard and the quakes grew stronger and then it was calm again and now the mana seeped in me fast, I could feel it feeling every part of my body and it began to burn, I felt a lot of pain but I had to endure it or I would lose consciousness and my life. The pain kept on for a while with its intensity rising but after all mana in the air was gone the pain faded away and so did the raining clouds, the quakes together with the pillar around me faded away.
I now knew I could rest and as I shut my eyes I could see my father run towards me but nonetheless, I still fell asleep.
Richard
The beast swathed me and I hit a tree, my consciousness slipped and when I came to I saw Aldin finish off the beast, his arm and been injured and would have been bleeding but it was frozen. Moments after the beast's death, Aldin began advancing and within those moments his father appeared and when it was over he ran over to Aldin.
It would take me some time to get there because my entire joy was aching. He was alright and had fallen asleep. As and waited for Aldin to wake up I told Richard what had happened while we had been here. But after an hour or so he woke up. He was alright and so we walked home.

It took a whole for Aldin's arm to get healed. But he was happy for having advanced and he went on a mission after getting healed.

After getting better I asked my mother if I could get some armour.
"Normally I would charge you but I don't want you getting hurt." I was so overjoyed at this that I pounced on my mother with a bear hug.
"But you need to bring me the pelt of a magic beast and pick whichever you want. I could not hunt one immediately so I decided to hunt first.
I chose to hunt some special lizards required by the crafter. The forest was distant so Ian and I went by magic. It was hard to hunt them down since they mainly stayed in the ground and live in tunnels. After forcing them out of their tunnels using earth magic and soon it was noon and I had the snake carcases were piled up by Ian which were at the least five meters long. Meanwhile, I went deeper into the woods and as I was walking I came across a pack of fire-type wolves.
They would be the best for my armour and after killing the entire pack I sat aside the alpha of the pack for my armour and used something I had gained from my advancement, not known to any mage. And this was all due to the beast in the dark space
After advancing I had gone back to the dark space. The being had been there waiting for me.
"You have grown well child and heeded my words." The beings said.
"Thank you, but why am I here?" I asked.
"Well that has something to do with you, you are growth and the ring on your finger, you may not be able to use its full potential right now but it will grow with you and strengthen you." He said.
"And how does it work," I asked.
"Right now it will allow you to use devourer touch to feed on your prey but always ensure that nobody sees this or you will be hunted down and as the ring is a dead give away it will be absorbed into your body and will have a mark on your body as it's representation. To use this you need to place your hand on the said victim and using your mind you can activate this feature."
"And why are you helping me," I asked confused with this situation nothing in the entire situation made sense and I needed to know why he chose to help me.
"The reason is important now but when the time is ready I will tell you."
After that conversation, I had woken up and found myself in the woods and now here I was in front of a pile of wolf carcasses. I placed my hand on them and a grey mist began to devour them all. Nothing was left in the mist's wake as everything vanished away but my body was immediately filled with energy I felt as if I had been reborn and felt even stronger. After the excitement wore off I took the wolf off the ground and placed it on my shoulders after which I headed to where Ian was and handed it to him before we headed back to the city and after getting my rewards and handing Ian a gold coin he bowed down and was on his way. I headed back home and placed the wolf's carcass in the back yard and sat on the ground waiting for my mother to arrive and begin forging my armour. As I was on the ground I noticed something strange happening to me
