Lust System: Sword Genius in Women's World

Chapter 167 Knocked Out

Both of them heard footsteps coming from the first path and turned towards it, and Xavier saw that it was Mari, and a smile formed on his face, but the look on her face was different.

"Humans!" She muttered.

Mari held a bag filled with crystal, but she dropped it the next moment and immediately took a fighting stance, going on all fours.

Xavier was shocked, but then he remembered that the illusion mask was the only thing keeping his identity, and now it was gone, and the dragon beside him looked like a human.

"Wait, Mari, it's me," Xavier spoke as he stretched his hands, trying to calm her down, but she wasn't buying any of it.

Immediately, she dashed forward towards Xavier, but in his eyes, she was a little slow. He quickly moved out of the way, but the dragon behind him didn't, as he saw her hands moving.

*BOOM...THUD!!*

Mari landed on the ground with a thud as a punch from the howling star connected with her face. The dragon was already throwing herself forward to protect Xavier before he moved away, which gave her more freedom to attack.

Mari landed on the ground unconscious, a single hit was all it took.

"Why did you attack her?" Xavier asked.

"I didn't want to, my body just moved...and besides, why is she attacking?" She asked.

"We're not in human territory, and besides, I'm not sure she'd seen humans before now. Of course, she would attack, but you could have held back your punch," Xavier spoke as he walked towards her.

He couldn't tell if she was seriously injured or not, but he knew she was physically strong so she shouldn't be injured even though it was a punch from a dragon.

Xavier watched Mari closely, making sure she was still breathing. Her chest rose and fell slowly. She was fine, just knocked out. He let out a small sigh and turned back to the dragon woman, who still had her arms folded, looking annoyed.

Xavier couldn't go further without her because she was the one who knew the dungeon, but he could go if he wanted, because the trap that killed him wouldn't be able to if he was stuck in the same situation.

"So you're stuck here, that's the reason you needed a dragon, if you had gone to the mountains, you would have been killed for sure" She spoke.

"Why do you say that? With how powerful I am, wouldn't dragons want to partner with me?" Xavier asked.

"Dragons don't fight war, we try not to involve ourselves with any other species, we've stayed on the mountain long before the people settled here...I know your intentions, you're planning to kill, not just one person but a lot of people"

"The kingdom I grew up in was attacked by demons and beasts, that's the only reason I'm here, a teleportation spell randomly teleported me here... wouldn't you want to kill the people if your lands were attacked?" Xavier asked her and she didn't reply.

"If you have won your war, would you let me go...I know I'm now your slave, so answer truthfully, I can't stop you even if you decide to keep me," She spoke.

"I'm not planning to keep you, unless you want to stay on your own," Xavier replied, and she chuckled.

"Also, how did you die in the first place, did another dragon kill you or what?" Xavier asked.

"I don't want to talk about it" She replied.

"Oh, that's something I really want to know, I know it's not any of the people here, so either another dragon or a dragon rider, which was it?" Xavier spoke.

The smile on her face faded, and she looked away for a moment, her fists tightening. Xavier couldn't tell she was trying to resist, but it didn't work.

"Yes," she finally said. "An older one… an ice dragon."

Xavier raised a brow. "Ice dragon?"

She nodded slowly. "He was stronger… older than me by hundreds of years. I thought I could challenge for a seat, prove myself worthy as one of the next primordial. But I was foolish."

"Primordial? What is that?" Xavier asked.

"Leaders of the dragons, twelve in number...you can challenge for a seat and one of the primordial would be chosen at random, you can only challenge once in 100 years" She continued.

Her eyes darkened as she remembered. "His cold cut through my flames like it was nothing. My golden flames could melt anything, yet I couldn't touch him. I fought with everything I had, but in the end, he crushed me."

"It wasn't necessary to kill but that didn't stop him from ending me, he knew I would one day challenge for a seat"

Xavier studied her face. For the first time, she didn't look angry. She looked… bitter.

"So that's how you died," Xavier muttered. "Killed by another dragon"

She glanced at him, her tone sharp again. "Don't mistake it for weakness. I lost because he was ancient, with power I hadn't reached yet. If I meet him again, I will kill him."

Xavier gave a small smirk. "Do dragon riders participate in this challenge, I could help you win"

She scoffed, turning her head. "Don't flatter yourself, human. I don't need you. You just happened to be lucky"

"Lucky doesn't have anything to do with it. If the dragons would let you challenge for the seat again, I'll be happy to go with you," Xavier spoke.

"That would be your end, once you arrive at the mountain and the other dragons see me as a slave, it doesn't matter how I came back to life, you'll definitely be killed" She replied.

"You'll have no choice but to protect me, so you'll be the one to die first, and no matter how ancient the dragons are, I'll still find a way to escape," Xavier replied.

'Wait...I just thought of something, this dragon is female right?'
