Lust System: Harem Of Beautiful Women

Chapter 214: Get Up!!!

Logan took the cigarette and glanced at it. Originally, Luis smoked cheap, everyday cigarettes.

Perhaps because it was his Mother in law's birthday, or perhaps because Lily had become more thoughtful under her elder sister's guidance, she had specifically bought several cartons of soft China cigarettes for him to smoke at home.

Logan snorted dismissively and said, "So young and already so wasteful and extravagant. Your father in law smokes the hard packs, yet you smoke the soft ones. What kind of propriety is this?"

Luis chuckled lightly and could not be bothered to argue with him. He knew this guy was just a contrarian, and talking to him was a waste of breath. If he really could not hold back, slapping him a few times would be more satisfying than haggling with him over every little thing.

Saying this, he shuffled a few steps and found a chair to sit down. Lily, sharp eyed, said, "Uncle, that is the seat of honor."

"I know it is the seat of honor!"

Logan said brashly, "If Arthur were here today, he would sit there. Since he is not, then naturally, I should sit there."

Leah could not help but say, "Uncle, today is my mother's birthday. The seat of honor is reserved for her."

"You have no sense of propriety at all."

Logan sat down on his own accord, looked up, and rolled his eyes, saying, "How old is your mother? She has not even reached sixty, it does not count as a major birthday. It should not be such a lavish affair in the first place."

"According to custom and rules, unless it is a major birthday, the seat of honor is definitely where the man sits."

He shook his head with a know it all attitude, his pedantic scholar act so irritating it was almost laughable. One really wanted to crack open his brain and study what was inside.

Ruth was also angered into laughter, saying, "Logan, this is not a lavish affair. The main point is, my son in law has money and is willing to spend it."

"Exactly!"

Nancy could not help but say, "Uncle, it is my mother's birthday, not yours. When you have your own major birthday celebration, you can even sit on the table for all I care, let alone the seat of honor."

"Do you even understand how to respect your elders?"

Logan frowned.

Ruth swore and grumbled, "You are the one who does not understand. I am your wife's elder sister. How can you be so presumptuous as to steal the host's role?"

Luis secretly clicked his tongue in amazement, thinking that his Mother in law, this shrew, was even using idioms now. She had definitely toned it down a lot today.

If it were her old explosive temper, not only would Logan have been subjected to a torrent of abuse by now, but Daniel would also have scratch marks all over his face.

"Elder Sister, it is not your major birthday..."

Logan was just about to spout his old feudalistic nonsense.

Lily immediately stepped forward and said, "Uncle, even if the seat of honor must be for a man, since my father is not here, it should be for my husband to sit. How could it possibly be your turn?"

"That is right, the man of our family is my brother in law. Uncle, you certainly do not count."

Leah chimed in from the side, saying sarcastically, "This is basic common sense. Uncle, as an educated person, you could not possibly not know this."

Luis watched with sheer schadenfreude. The combat prowess of the Wood family women was truly formidable.

When encountering such verbal battles in the future, he could just fan the flames and then sit back and watch the show. Now, even his sister in law was starting to awaken.

"He, he is a son in law, not a son."

Logan's face flushed red as he said, "Moreover, he is a live in son in law. What right does he have to sit in the seat of honor?"

"Oh, so are you my son or my son in law that you have the face to sit here?"

Mother in law Ruth came over and hugged Luis's arm, carefully watching her son in law's expression, afraid that the term 'live in son in law' would anger Luis.

Seeing Luis smiling as usual, Ruth felt more confident and said even more acerbically, "Logan, even if Arthur were dead.

This seat would still not be your turn to sit."

"A son in law is half a son. Since he is my live in son in law, he is my son. He would not dare to fight with me for it, so what gives you the right?"

Nancy also had no patience for this uncle and snorted, "Mom, perhaps Uncle wants to pay for the meal. Then let him sit there."

"Oh, Uncle wants to treat everyone?"

Lily played along with her.

"This meal is not expensive, just a few thousand dollars. Uncle is so self righteous about it, I suppose that amount is nothing to him!"

Nancy snorted.

Ruth also said, "My son in law is paying for it and he does not even dare to sit in the seat of honor. Where on earth do you get the nerve?"

The onslaught from the Wood family mother and daughters made Logan's old face unable to bear the shame.

Although this rigid angry young man liked to nitpick, he was not someone who would make trouble without reason.

"Get up! If my elder sister's friends see this, they will think she has remarried you."

Eloise was also a little angry. She went over and pulled at him. Logan conceded and stood up, found a random seat to sit down, and began to sulk.

Luis and the Wood sisters exchanged glances, utterly speechless. Sometimes they really could not understand where such people got their confidence.

This kind of person was different from Daniel. He was a classic, ultimate moron, with appallingly low emotional and intellectual intelligence. Getting angry with him felt like a waste of time. Just thinking about it made them feel sorry for the aunt and her daughter.

"Wow, you are here. There are greeters at the door. Please, come in quickly."

The door opened, and a formidable group of nearly ten young married women arrived. They were all old neighbors and long-time card partners, every one of them a familiar face.

Their looks were all quite similar; some were middle-aged beauties, some still retained their charm, and of course, there were some plain ones too. Naturally, the most enchanting among them was the pretty widow Yana. It was said she rarely wore makeup or used skincare products, but she paid more attention to wellness than anyone else.

Her skin was fair and flawless, practically wrinkle-free, plump and as tender as her daughter's. Now, with a slightly more refined appearance, light makeup, and a well-fitting dress, her charm was truly captivating, even rivaling Nancy's.

"Aunt Yana, you look so beautiful today," Lily said, her eyes lighting up.

"Am I not beautiful every day?" Yana replied. As she spoke, she glanced secretly at Luis, her expression a mix of shyness and a subtle, flirtatious sparkle in her eyes.

Luis responded with a sly, lecherous grin. Yana rolled her eyes at him before going to talk to the others.

Their arrival instantly filled the private room with a cacophony of chattering voices and laughter. Luis and Logan exchanged a look, mutual annoyance at the headache-inducing noise clear in their eyes.

Luis simply went over and sat next to him. Logan looked somewhat startled but still managed a smile, saying, "Why didn't Daniel come?"

"Him? He's busy with something!" Luis couldn't be bothered to explain further. Someone like Logan, who thought so highly of himself, looked down on everyone else; he acted like he was second only to heaven itself, and he certainly looked down on Daniel, that idle loafer living off his parents.

Strangely enough, he actually respected Luis. Even without much education, Luis was hardworking and didn't talk much. Though they didn't communicate often, they had never actually had a falling out.

"You and your smoking, you should really save some money. Expenses get much bigger after you have a child," Logan said, frowning and adopting a paternalistic tone. "And this place, why such an extravagant production? Wouldn't it be better for just the family to have a meal together behind closed doors?"
