Luisa and the Witcher

Chapter 39: Elf witcher

"Really?" Luisa responded.

"Yes, really." Lindsey replied and her father walked in almost immediately.

"I see you have found the book of the gift bearers," Max announced his presence.

"Yes, Mr. Reign. Lindsey here told me that it was possible to summon the gift bearers and if you are worthy, they will bestow the gifts on you. One of the easiest ways to get your gifts as a high elf," Luisa immediately mentioned.

"Yes. But...(Sighs) it's not as easy as it seems. Even if it's successful, you still need to learn how to harness the gift. It could be dangerous, especially the fire aspect. And you could be disappointed if the bearer does not find you eligible for the gift," Maximilian responded.

"I'm ready for any circumstances. In that way we could also get to find out if as a mixed breed I get all the gifts or just one," Luisa tried as much as possible to convince him.

"(Sighs again) What's with the rush Luisa? Things turn out close to perfect when you take your time in it. I know you must feel devastated to not have your elf gifts at this age but this should occur meticulously and spontaneously," Mr. Reign explained.

"(Sighs) I'm not doing this for myself, neither am I doing it because I'm desperate or devastated. Well I am but for a solely different reason. Have you duo heard of the history of the catastrophic Li`caburs?" Luisa asked.

"Yes," both father and daughter responded.

"Well, they are back. I and Zeke fought with one in the last mission we went and I have to tell you, it wasn't easy.

"So if history was to repeat itself again, we have to be prepared and we are going to need all the skills and help there is, in order to defeat those snake creatures," Luisa continued.

"My god! This hasn't been brought over or mentioned to the high elf council," Max commented.

"I guess the witcher council hasn't finished debating on the issue yet," Luisa shrugged.

"I'm going to speak with Zeke about it tomorrow," Max noted.

"Okay." Luisa responded.

"Fine Luisa. But a lot of things are required in summoning the bearers. One, you have to perform the ritual alone, so you have got a lot of practicing to do.

"Secondly, the ritual needs to be performed when the gold moon appears," Maximilian elaborated.

"Then I will be waiting, and ready!" Luisa responded, so determined.

When she got home that day, she decided to bring up an issue that has been bugging her for some while now.

Zeke and her were in his study room when she asked the question that has been on her mind for some while now.

"Zeke, aren't there any elf witcher? Well asides me of course. Of wood elf origin precisely," she asked.

Zeke gazed at her, "Hmm. What an interesting question?"

"Well of course there are. I mean the human population is always the highest but there are also a lot of vampires and a few elves. Why do you ask shortie?" he added.

"Mr. Reign is truly amazing. But I want to learn how to obtain my wood elf gifts directly from a wood elf," Luisa answered.

"It's okay, there's nothing wrong with that. But then, why a witcher?" he asked further.

"Well, you know. I just wanted to get help from a fellow wood elf Witcher like myself who hasn't gotten their gifts regardless of being a Witcher."

"Alright. I do know some. But there is one I know closely, he is a trustworthy man," Zeke mentioned.

"Really! That'd be nice. Thank you Zeke," she responded.

"Then it's settled. We'll leave for Kimoira the day after tomorrow, to meet him," he replied and she nodded in agreement.

As decided, they embarked on their journey to Kimoira the day after the next day.

They soon arrived there and alighted from their carriage.

"Okay Luisa. You may go to your quarters, I will see if the witcher is in Kimoira. If he is, I will send for him. So don't wonder too far, i'll send for you also once the elf witcher arrives," Zeke informed.

Luisa nodded and started to walk away. She was going to her quarters but she just used it as an opportunity to go see the little elf boy. She walked towards the new recruits quarters instead.

"Hello there," she greeted the human receptionist at the entrance. He was a man, he returned the greetings.

"Uhm...where exactly are the new recruits right now? 8-12 to be precise?" she inquired.

"Oh, they are currently at the library room," the man answered.

"Ah okay," she responded and turned around to leave.

She soon ran into Carter.

"Hey, Luisa? I didn't expect to run into you here in Kimora today," he began.

"When did you return?" he asked further as they started walking together.

"Just today. How have you been?" she asked.

"I'm good. What about you?" Carter inquired.

"I'm fine." she responded.

"I can see that. So, where are you heading to?" Carter continued.

"Library room for the witchers," she answered.

"Oh, bummers! Restricted bondary, i can't go there. I was hoping to spend some time with you," he expressed.

"Sorry I've been really busy lately. One of these days, I'll make sure to spare some time to hang out with you again," she smiled at him and he returned the smile.

"Okay." he replied sheepishly.

"Restricted bondary? But I do see you a lot around here, why so?" Luisa inquired.

"Yes but not everywhere. As a mage assigned to the witchers section, it's one of the privileges. One because I get to see you," he grinned and she let out a soft chuckle.

Luisa finally got to the library room and she had long bid Carter goodbye before entering. It wasn't so hard to locate the elf boy.

"Hello Zatara," she greeted.

"Hello witcher Luisa," he replied so politely.

She laughed, "I have told you, Luisa would do,"

"So, how have you been fairing?" she added.

"Fine I guess. It... really hasn't been easy," he confessed.

"I see. Glad to know you are doing just fine, you don't have to worry. I'll make sure to be here to assist you whenever and however I can," Luisa told and the boy just nodded.

They spent some time together and Luisa ended up tutoring him and some other few boys before Zeke finally sent someone to send for her.

"Luisa? I was told you were here..." started the witcher who was sent.

She followed him to where Zeke was and when she got there, there was another witcher with him. His pointed ears obviously telling of which kind he was before becoming a witcher.

-The elf witcher!
