Christmas ’23 Omake – 1A’s First Christmas Part 9
Luke 2:14
“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!”
Her eyes brightened. "Oh my god, it IS you isn't it?!" she said.
Momo seemed to press herself into his side possessively. "Who is she?" she asked.
James shrugged. "I've got no clue," he responded nonchalantly.
He didn't even know who she was, let alone met her. She was cute enough to where he suspected he would remember her if he had.
Himiko raised her eyebrow in curiosity.
"I'm a huge fan!" the singer said.
James smiled politely. He thought that would be it, but it wasn't meant to be.
She looked over at some of the security. "Can he come up here?" she asked.
After a few moments it seemed she got some kind of permission.
She waved him over. "Come up here!" she said excitedly.
Wasn't it supposed to be him enjoying her performance?
Momo's eyes darted between the singer and James not sure what to do.
James shrugged and went up. He wasn't super thrilled to go up to an impromptu public performance, but some exposure couldn't hurt.
One of the techs handed him a regular handheld mic before he head on to the stage since unlike the performers who were mic'd he wasn't.
She hopped over him giving him a big hug. "It's so exciting to meet you. This is the best Christmas present ever. I'm your biggest fan. I've been following you since your Tokyo Rain shoot. There's so much I want to ask," she prattled excitedly.
She looked over at the crowd and had an awkward realisation. "Ah! I'm so sorry. I got a little distracted. So some of you might already know, but James here is a famous model from Japan. I've been a huge fan for years, but he disappeared from the scene a year ago. He hasn't even been posting on social media," she said ending with a pout.
James shot her a playful smile.
"Now imagine how surprised I was to see him at the U.A. sports festival," she said dramatically.
There were some murmurs in the crowd. The U.A. sports festival might be one of the biggest events of the year in Japan, but it didn't have near the same fame in the rest of the world. Most of all in the United States which had their own events. After it being brought up though some recalled having seen him.
All Might did have some fame in the United States after all and him becoming a teacher for U.A. this year had brought some extra attention from Americans that it usually wouldn't have had.
"Of course I wanted to congratulate you, but also wanted to ask what your plans for the future. Are you done with modelling?" she asked.
He smirked. "It isn't a priority at the moment, but who knows..." he said casually, leaving it up in the air. If his mom needed him he would probably help her out, but modelling itself was just a means to an end. Not something that interested him all that much for its own sake.
"For the next few years I'll be focusing on my training at U.A. though so I hope everyone can support me in my dream to be. hero," he said.
The audience cheered loudly. Heroes were kind of just the most popular type of celebrity in this world. The job was like being a police officer and some kind of idol all wrapped in one. At least it meant the pay was much better than for a police officer. Well for those heroes with some popularity. For the complete unknowns the difference probably wasn't all that much.
James smiled giving them a dramatic bow. "Thank you, thank you very much," he joked getting some chuckles from the crowd.
She actually looked a little nervous. "Sadly I'm not the only one here and don't have a lot of time. Since you are up here, how about I sing you a song? Which song would you like me to sing?" she asked.
He didn't actually know any of her songs, but rather than admit to this instead he smirked and teased: "I think it would be more interesting if you sang the song you would most like to sing to me."
She blushed, but a smile broke unto her lips. "Ok, let me see... Oh I know," she muttered.
She went on to sing a poppy romantic song about love and longing. Rather than playing to the crowd it was obvious she was playing to him as if he had been the love interest the song was about. Some of the girls in the crowd screamed in excitement.
It was at least an interesting experience. He hadn't ever been serenaded on stage before and who knows if it would ever happen again. He humoured her by going along with it and watching her with a warm smile. He didn't mind if she got the wrong impression and as a star the chances of her actually expecting too much from him was minimal.
Although it wasn't really his kind of music he had to admit she was a talented singer and performer.
She came back over to him her breathing a little rushed recovering from performing.
He smiled watching her. "That was great," he praised her.
She blushed, probably reading way too much into his praise.
"W-well as much as I hate to say goodbye already I think I'm not alone in wishing you good luck in becoming a hero," she said with some of the crowd cheering along with her.
Before he got off stage she covertly slipped him a piece of paper with her phone number on it. "Call me," she whispered.
When he got back to his spot Momo was giving him a disapproving glare that he simply ignored. Seeing that it wasn't working she changed strategy with the glare turning to a pout as she glommed on to him making sure her breasts noticeably pressed into his side.
