Lucifer Quirk

3 – James

His father actually managed to take the day off to celebrate his birthday and his grandparents, most aunts and uncles from his father’s side all managed to come for the celebration. Unfortunately the same could not be said for his mother’s side of the family who he found were from America. They had met over there while his father was ona business trip and eventually she decided to come here when they decided to marry.

From what he could tell the relationship with his mom’s side of the family was fine, however arranging for everyone to be able to come for a birthday was t as easy when they had to travel halfway across the world. In the end only one of his mom’s sisters was able to make it for his birthday though she did bring everyone’s gifts, cards and shared their well wishes and love.

One of the downsides of being heir to a rich family though was that along with security concerns, being surrounded by maids and butlers and the sizeable plot of land around their home was that he hadn’t had a chance to make any friends during his first year meaning it was just family for this celebration. Though he wasn’t too concerned as making friends with other toddlers would have been quite awkward with his adult mind. He was more than comfortable waiting until school to even worry about making any friends.

The day ended quite uneventfully. His fathers side of the family was loving though due to their upbringing it was a little restrained. Meanwhile his mom’s sister had no such scruples and couldn’t keep her hands off him as she kept telling him how adorable he was while hugging him, pinching him and covering him in kisses. Maybe she was trying to get as much affection in due to her limited time to stay before she had to go back to America. She also made sure to take plenty of pictures to share with the rest of her side of the family.

James got a lot of toys he had no real use for, however thankfully his parents knew him much better so he got plenty of things he could actually enjoy and a bunch of cute clothes to dress him up in that he was sure were all on his mother who loved to dress him up. The things you put up with for those you love.

Over the next three years he continued to impress to the point he was recently even able to convince his parents to get tutors for him both to learn academically and also train his body and some basic martial arts that could help him no matter what quirk he might awaken. He isn’t sure exactly where in the canon timeline he might be but it must be quite close since All-Might is around though he hasn’t been wounded by All-For-One yet since he is still extremely active in his crime fighting endeavors.

His father was indeed some kind of business mogul though he had inherited the family business as he was some kind of heir to a wealthy old family that could trace its roots back to before quirks even became a thing so he was sort of old blood now. His mom came from a relatively well off family from America though they didn’t really have much influence as they had only gained some wealth during his grandfather’s time. He learned his full name was Busujima James because he got his father’s family name his mother got to choose his first name in return.

He had already mastered reading and writing Japanese. Math and at least the basic sciences remained the same as he had learned in his previous life so he focused on the few things that were fresh so he could do well in school while maintaining his training and even if he didn’t get a hero worthy quirk doing better in school was still going to help him. Meanwhile if he did get a quirk any time he saved now was time he could spend training and improving his quirk at that point.

Although it wouldn’t make him happy he would even prefer a villain quirk over no quirk. Many would think it seemed those with quirks deemed to be villainous did suffer a lot in this world due to the prejudice against the very nature of their quirk the quirkless were also judged and denigrated while also being powerless to do anything about it. Plus it is possible to subvert the view on a quirk judged as villainous if you could find a heroic use of such a quirk. Meanwhile barring inhuman experiments there is a dearth of ways to overcome being quirkless.

Worst case scenario his new body had a good family and he seemed to at least be gifted intellectually to some degree swing how fast he was able to learn the language so very worst case he could just do well in school then eventually take over the family business as CEO and live a life of wealth though being rich without a powerful quirk to protect your wealth still has some risks to it.

Now that he was almost 4 he was working to convince his parents to let him skip any form of preschool or kindergarten where he wouldn’t really learn anything and it would just interfere with his learning and training so he could “socialise” with a bunch of young children. He was working on convincing them to let him skip at least until he was 6 in favour of tutors actually continuing to teach him useful things during that time.

One day he woke up way before his usual time screaming due to a mind-rending pain that was spreading across his back pulsating in intensity unlike anything he had ever experienced before in this life and the one before. He was so loud it only took a moment for the closest servants to show up in a panic unable to tell why he was in pain.
