Lost between worlds

Chapter 6: A Shocking Reunion ✿

One blessed day, Krimson finally embarked on his lifelong dream of traveling to space. His family and friends were proud of him, but the fear of the unknown, especially the possibility of losing him, weighed heavily on everyone's hearts. Alora, in particular, was deeply anxious. On the day of his launch, she hugged him tightly and kissed him goodbye, whispering, "Promise me you'll come back."

With a confident smile, Krimson replied, "I will. For you, for everyone."

As the countdown ended, Krimson was launched into the vast expanse of space. A mix of excitement and determination filled him. He felt closer to his late parents, hoping this achievement would make them proud. However, Krimson had no idea that his journey would uncover secrets that would forever change his understanding of his family and his life.

After completing his mission, Krimson was preparing to return to Earth when he noticed something unusual on his radar, a planet

that seemed capable of supporting life. The vibrant hues and dynamic surface captivated him, and curiosity overpowered caution. Despite the risks, Krimson decided to investigate, saying a quick prayer before steering his spacecraft toward the mysterious world.

Upon landing, he was immediately surrounded by humanoid creatures with green skin and oversized heads. Their presence was intimidating, but Krimson recalled his father's advice to always face challenges with courage. Mustering his strength, he stepped out of the rocket, attempting to communicate. The creatures didn't respond, and he assumed they couldn't understand English.

As he explored further, he came across a massive castle-like structure made entirely of sand. When he tried to enter, alien guards stopped him and, after a brief struggle, imprisoned him. Krimson remained calm, though fear gripped him. The guards reported his presence to their king, who was intrigued. It was unheard of for a human, or any species from Earth, to find their planet.

The alien king, shrouded in mystery, demanded to meet the "brave intruder." When Krimson was brought before him, the king's appearance shocked him. Unlike the other aliens, this king had human-like skin and wore a mask.

The king ordered his soldiers to remove Krimson's helmet. At first, Krimson feared this was an execution, but to his surprise, he could breathe the planet's air, it was as supportive of life as Earth.

"The rest of your body looks human," Krimson remarked, studying the king.

"Yes, I'm human," the king replied.

Krimson's curiosity deepened. "How did you discover this planet?"

"That's a long story, one I may share another time," the king responded, his tone heavy with emotion.

"Interesting... What's your name? You might be an unsolved mystery," Krimson said jokingly, trying to lighten the mood.

"I am Kadrew," the king answered. "And you?"

For a moment, Krimson froze. He couldn't believe what he'd just heard.

"Kadrew? That's... my last name. I'm Krimson Kadrew," he finally said, extending his hand in introduction.

The king hesitated, a flicker of pain crossing his face. "You shouldn't be here. Your loved ones are waiting for you. Don't end up like me, trapped in betrayal and regret."

Krimson tilted his head, sensing the weight in the king's words. "I've also lost my dad, but I've been blessed with a loving family that filled the void," he replied.

"Who was your father?" the king asked, his voice trembling.

"He was Kadrew, a mechanical engineer. My mom always said I inherited his passion for discovery."

The king fell to his knees, his tears falling freely.

"What's wrong?" Krimson asked, his voice edged with concern.

The king removed his mask, revealing a face Krimson thought he'd never see again. "Krimson... I am your father."

Krimson froze, his mind racing. He was paralyzed by the revelation, struggling to comprehend what he had just heard. His father, whom he thought had vanished without a trace, was alive, and not only alive but an alien king on a distant planet.

As Krimson slowly regained his composure, his father began to explain. Years ago, during a scientific experiment, he had been transported to this alien world. The creatures saw his knowledge as valuable and crowned him their king. He never returned to Earth, fearing that his dual identity as a human and alien leader would endanger his family.

Krimson's shock gave way to anger, then sadness, and finally understanding. "All this time... you were alive?" he asked, his voice breaking.

"I've watched over you from afar," his father admitted. "I couldn't reveal myself, but I never stopped loving you."

The reunion, though bittersweet, opened a path for healing. Father and son shared stories, mending the broken pieces of their past. As Krimson prepared to return to Earth, his father entrusted him with knowledge about the planet and its people, hoping it would help humanity.

When Krimson finally left the mysterious world, he carried more than scientific discoveries, he carried the truth about his father and the strength of their restored bond.

"Dad, you're coming back with me to Earth," Krimson said, tears streaming down his face.

Kadrew shook his head solemnly. "No, my son. You have a beautiful family waiting for you on Earth. My place is here."

Krimson's voice cracked with pain. "I thought you were the one person who truly loved and cared about me."

"I do care, more than you can imagine," Kadrew replied. "But these aliens... they need a leader. Without one, they might invade Earth again, unnoticed, unstoppable. They killed your mother, and I was only spared because they believed I could help them. I need to stay here to keep them under control and ensure Earth's safety. You don't know the horrors they could bring."

"Then let me help! I won't let you stay here alone," Krimson pleaded, desperation filling his words.

Kadrew placed a hand on his son's shoulder. "Son, you're brave, but this is my responsibility. I was chosen to keep the peace between our worlds. Please, don't send anyone to retrieve me. Promise me you'll protect Earth from your end, just as I'll do from here."

Krimson wiped his tears, determination replacing his sorrow. "No, Dad. I won't give up on you. I'll find a way to bring you back."

Kadrew's eyes softened. "Then I trust you'll make the right choice when the time comes."

With a heavy heart, Krimson returned to his spacecraft and journeyed back to Earth. However, when he shared his discoveries with scientists and authorities, no one believed him. The reports were dismissed as fabricated stories, and Krimson returned home feeling disheartened and misunderstood.

His family welcomed him with open arms, relieved that he had come back safely, but Krimson couldn't fully share in their joy. The weight of his secret and the memory of his father burdened his heart.

One quiet night, as Krimson stood outside gazing at the stars, a familiar spaceship landed near him. To his astonishment, Kadrew emerged.

"Dad?" Krimson called out, running toward him.

Kadrew smiled faintly. "Son, I just came to say goodbye for now. Don't worry about me. I'll visit sometimes, but my duty remains the same, protecting Earth from up there."

Krimson fought back tears as he watched the spaceship ascend into the sky, disappearing among the stars.

"After all," Krimson thought to himself, "no one needs to know about Dad and the aliens. What matters is that I made my mom proud and Earth is safe."

Determined to move forward, Krimson refocused on his life. He poured his love into his family and cherished every moment with Alora.

A few months later, Krimson proposed to Alora in the most heartfelt way. She accepted, and soon their wedding day arrived. Friends, family, co-workers, and fans gathered to celebrate the union.

Just as the ceremony began, a mysterious spaceship descended from the sky. Panic rippled through the crowd, but Krimson raised his hands to calm them.

"Everyone, please! This is my biological father," he announced, his voice steady. "He's been protecting Earth from alien invasions for years."

The crowd gasped as Kadrew stepped out, flanked by two alien guards. His presence was undeniable proof of Krimson's story. Applause erupted as the crowd recognized the sacrifices Kadrew had made for their safety.

After the ceremony, Kadrew pulled Krimson aside. "Congratulations, son. You've grown so much since the last time I saw you. You were only eight then."

Krimson chuckled softly. "Yeah, time flies. I guess this is goodbye again."

Kadrew shook his head. "Not this time. The aliens have found a new leader, someone they thought was lost long ago. I'm free to stay now."

Krimson's eyes widened in surprise. "So that's why they came to Earth? They were searching for him?"

Kadrew smiled, relieved. "Yes, and now their world is in good hands."

Krimson laughed, his heart light for the first time in years. "Looks like we both get a happy ending."

After the wedding, Krimson and Alora moved into the mansion they had purchased during their university days. Kadrew joined them, seamlessly becoming part of their lives. Despite reconnecting with his biological father, Krimson never forgot his adoptive parents, whom he continued to cherish and respect as family.

Ten months into their marriage, Alora shared the joyous news, they were expecting a baby.

Months passed as Krimson and Alora eagerly awaited the arrival of their first child. The mansion was filled with excitement, and Kadrew often shared his wisdom, recounting tales of his own youth and what he remembered of Krimson's early years. Despite his extra-terrestrial responsibilities, Kadrew had found peace being with his family again.

One fateful evening, Alora went into labour. Krimson, overwhelmed with a mixture of joy and nerves, rushed her to the hospital, holding her hand tightly as they waited. Kadrew, along with Krimson's adoptive parents and close friends, stayed outside the delivery room, their prayers and hopes uniting the family.

Hours later, the doctor emerged with a broad smile. "Congratulations, Mr. Krimson. You're the proud father of twins, a boy and a girl!"

Krimson's eyes lit up with tears of happiness as he entered the room to meet his new family. Alora, exhausted but radiant, cradled the babies in her arms.

"They're perfect," Alora whispered, her voice filled with emotion.

Krimson gently picked up the baby boy, who looked at him with curious eyes. "Jake," Krimson said softly.

"And Jessy," Alora added, smiling at their baby girl.

Kadrew entered the room moments later, overcome with pride. He held Jake and Jessy one by one, his hands trembling slightly. "They are beautiful," he said. "Your mother would have been so proud, Krimson."

The family spent the next days celebrating the arrival of the twins. Jake and Jessy became the centre of everyone's attention, and their presence brought immense joy to the household.

Krimson and Alora adjusted to parenthood with love and patience. Kadrew was always nearby, offering guidance and telling the twins stories of the stars. Though they were too young to understand, his voice captivated them, as if the mysteries of the universe were being shared with their tiny hearts.

One evening, as Krimson gazed at the twins sleeping peacefully, he thought about the incredible journey his life had taken, from losing his parents to finding a new family, uncovering the truth about his father, and now starting a family of his own.

He turned to Alora, who was also watching the twins with a serene smile. "We've come a long way, haven't we?" Krimson said, wrapping an arm around her.

"We have," Alora replied. "And it's only the beginning."

As the family settled into their new chapter, Krimson couldn't help but feel grateful for every twist and turn in his life. His journey was far from over, but for now, he was content to cherish these moments with the people he loved most.
