"The photos are fake, I had someone change the face to hers."

"What was the purpose of doing this?"

"I wanted her to feel what it's like when a man gets angry. It wasn't real emotions, just a momentary impulse. Everyone can do something irrational in a moment of impulse, but that doesn't mean I'm a bad person.

I should be given a chance to correct myself, not pushed into the abyss.

You're under arrest."

Luke signaled Little Black to take Elwin Lima to the police car.

Elwin Lima continued to twist his neck and shout, "I'm not the one who's wrong, it's you!

You're unfit to be a lawyer!"

Luke walked over to Daisy, comforted her softly, "Don't worry, I'll take good care of him. You should go back and get some rest."

Daisy pursed her lips, took a deep breath, "I won't go back tonight. I'll wait for you to come back."

"Sleep early, we'll talk tomorrow morning." Luke patted her shoulder.

"I hope I can sleep."

Luke watched her enter the house, then got in the police car with Little Black to take Elwin Lima to the station.

As for Elwin Lima, Luke definitely wouldn't let him off lightly, not just for Daisy, but also for himself.

While Elwin Lima's actions hadn't caused serious consequences, that was because Luke had immediately discovered the photos were fake. If he hadn't, and truly believed Daisy had betrayed him, he would have fallen into Elwin Lima's trap and possibly done something irrational.

Knowing after the fact that the photos were fake, Luke would have felt even more ashamed to face Daisy, full of regret inside.

So those three punches from Luke weren't undeserved at all.

And the charges of intimidation, stalking, and assault on an officer would serve him right.

Finishing with Elwin Lima's matter, Luke returned home after two o'clock in the morning.

Daisy hadn't rested yet, waiting for Luke to come back.

After quickly washing up, the two lay by the bedside, sipping red wine, chatting about Elwin Lima's matter.

At the police station, Marcus and an officer on duty took a detailed statement from Elwin Lima.

The reason Elwin Lima targeted Luke was because he had followed Daisy and saw Daisy and Luke going to the auction house together, dining together, and finally returning to the Luke family home.

Once he was certain of their relationship, he decided to implement his plan.

Originally, he thought seeing those photos would definitely make Luke furious, perhaps to the point of going to Daisy's house and beating her up. He eagerly looked forward to seeing that scenario, curious about Daisy's reaction, so he continued to stalk her, unexpectedly exposing himself.

Listening to Luke's voice, Daisy fell asleep leaning on his shoulder.

Watching the woman sleeping beside him, a slight smile appeared on Luke's lips.

The reason they got together in the first place was because they liked each other, and he could provide Daisy with a sense of security.

And security happens to be the greatest assurance a man can give to a woman.

The next day.

Sunlight poured into the bedroom.

Luke slowly opened his eyes and saw Daisy coming out of the bathroom, asking, "Do you feel better?"

Daisy smiled a little, "I took a bath, and it feels like all my worries have been washed away."

While dressing, Luke asked, "How about taking a day off today? We can go to the beach to unwind."

"I'd love to go out with you, but I arranged to meet a client today." Daisy kissed Luke on the cheek, "Sorry, I'll plan you next time."

"Want to eat before you leave?"

"You eat by yourself, I'm going to be late, I'll take your car." Daisy said, then kissed Luke goodbye again, "I'll come to keep you company tonight."

Luke saw her to the door, watching her drive away.

As expected, people aren't easily changed.

The dependent Daisy from last night was gone, replaced by the formidable lawyer woman once more.

Luke wasn't sure which Daisy he preferred.

"Ding dong." Luke's phone vibrated, he picked it up and saw it was a bank notification.

He received a transfer of USD 800,000.

Luke couldn't help but smile, thinking of having a nice meal at lunch, rewarding himself.
