Los Angeles Legendary Sleuth

Chapter 497: Envelope_3

Then, he took the envelope, went out, and drove quickly to Daisy's house.

The Mercedes sped down the street, partly because he was worried about Daisy's safety, and partly because he was concerned about being watched from the shadows. Being too calm at this moment was unusual and might reveal his intentions to the other party.

Luke drove the car to Daisy's doorstep and called her to come out and meet.

Los Angeles nights carried a hint of chill, Daisy opened the door, draped in a coat, and sat in the passenger seat of the Mercedes, "Luke, what's going on?"

Daisy showed a concerned expression, wondering why Luke suddenly came to see her.

Luke handed the envelope to Daisy, "I just returned home from a friend's party and found the envelope under the door mat."

Daisy opened the envelope and saw the photos inside, showing a look of shock, "Why are there these photos? I don't know the man in the pictures, and I haven't been to the beach recently."

Daisy turned on the car's overhead light and looked again carefully, "This woman looks a lot like me, but my shoulders are slightly narrower and my waist is slimmer.

Who is she?

Why does she look so much like me?"

"Do you have any sisters of similar age?"

"No, definitely not. This should be a composite photo. Who would do such a disgusting thing, putting my face on someone else's body."

Luke asked, "Did you offend anyone recently?"

"Isn't my job about offending people on behalf of clients?"

Luke opened his phone and found the surveillance screenshot, "This is the person who placed the photos at my house, do you recognize him?"

Daisy took the phone and looked, "Isn't there a front-view surveillance screenshot?"

"No."

Daisy shook her head, "I can't recognize him. Do you think the person who left the photos is targeting you or me?"

Luke smiled, "Do you have any recent admirers?"

"You still have the mood to joke? I don't need these idiot admirers." Daisy sighed lightly, "What are you going to do?"

"Although it's not a big deal, it's disgusting. We need to find this person quickly to prevent him from spreading the photos."

"Exactly, I don't want these photos to show up at the law firm's office.

How can we catch him?"

Luke had thought about this question before coming; this person's method wasn't clever, finding his flaws wouldn't be hard.

"In a moment, you open the passenger door and act like you're going to get out.

Then, I'll pull you back, drive away from this neighborhood; if someone is watching, they'll surely think we're having a conflict, and I might be a threat to you.

Maybe they'll take action."

Daisy looked out the car, "Do you think someone is watching us?"

"Not sure, but how will we know unless we try?"

"Okay."

Daisy took a deep breath and, following Luke's instructions, opened the car door. As soon as her feet touched the ground, Luke pulled her back and forcefully shut the door.

With one kick on the accelerator, the Mercedes sped away.

Not long after the Mercedes left, a gray Ford sedan followed.

The car didn't tail too closely, just keeping a distant pursuit, without turning on its headlights.

The Mercedes circled around and returned to the Reed Community.

After Luke parked, he opened the driver's side door and somewhat roughly 'dragged' Daisy into the house.

The gray Ford sedan also drove into the community, parked near the Luke family house, still without headlights on, inconspicuous in the dark night.

Inside the car, a white man in a hoodie parked his car, took a telescope from inside, revealing an excited expression, muttering,

"There's good show to watch..."

"Bang, bang..."

Just then, the car's glass was knocked fiercely.

The hoodie man turned to look and was startled to find a black face pressed against the glass...
