Chapter 473: Case Closed (Part 3)
The murderer can't be dead.
You naturally won't continue searching for the body."
Luke said, "The most dangerous place is often the safest place."
Ivony David praised, "Wow... that's a great summary, very insightful."
Luke continued, "You used the clues found by the police to deliberately set up Little William Moses and Danielle Winters as if they killed each other.
No matter which body we find, the other person will be suspected as the murderer.
That's how you get someone to take the fall for you.
You can then get away clean."
"Take the fall!" Ivony David nodded, "That's right, I not only want to kill them, but also have them take the fall for me."
Luke sensed the change in attitude and asked, "What did you find about last year's car accident?"
Ivony David retorted, "Why should I tell you?"
Luke earnestly said, "It's Kaya Ray's father who wants to know. I know your relationship with him isn't good, but he also loves Kaya Ray deeply.
If Kaya Ray knew, she surely wouldn't want her father to be kept in the dark, what do you think?"
The deputy "..."
How do you know? You haven't even met him?
Why do I feel like you're taking my lines!
Ivony David sighed deeply, "Just like you said, Kaya's father doesn't like me, and I don't like him either.
However, I don't want to see Kaya get hurt anymore...
The one driving at the time wasn't Danielle Winters, but Little William Moses.
Danielle Winters took the fall for him."
Luke asked, "Is that why you approached Danielle Winters?"
"Yes." Ivony David showed a look of sorrow, "When Kaya had the accident, I was still in prison, and didn't even know about it.
She used to visit me every week, but in the last month, she didn't come at all. I guessed something might have happened.
I thought of many possibilities, Kaya had other things to do, Kaya's parents didn't allow her to visit, or even suspected that Kaya was going to break up with me...
In hindsight, I realize I was such a jerk for doubting Kaya's love for me.
When I got out of prison, I heard that Kaya had already passed away...
I felt like my whole world collapsed, everything became meaningless.
I became desolate, living day by day."
Ivony David wiped the tears and continued, "Later, I heard that Kaya's mother also passed away.
I didn't like her mother, but I still attended her mother's funeral, wanting to see Kaya off in some way.
I saw Kaya's father at the funeral, he had aged a lot, and seemed lifeless. He didn't even recognize me.
Suddenly, I felt a bond with him, a feeling of shared suffering, I even thought about taking care of him in place of Kaya...
But later I thought it over carefully, that wasn't what he wanted.
After leaving the funeral, I decided to seek justice, not just for Kaya, but for myself and Kaya's parents too.
The driver not only killed Kaya but also destroyed us."
Ivony David bit his fingernails and said, "Through friends, I found out about Danielle Winters, learned she was imprisoned, and started writing letters to her, becoming her pen pal. With my deliberate approach, we became friends.
Later, she and Little William Moses had a falling out, and I became her substitute boyfriend.
I continuously learned about the details of that hit-and-run case. Once Danielle Winters got drunk and complained a lot about Little William Moses, that's when I found out it wasn't Danielle Winters but Little William Moses driving that night.
It was Little William Moses who killed Kaya, he was the true culprit."
Luke asked further, "Why did Danielle Winters take the fall for Little William Moses?"
"Danielle Winters said that Little William Moses was on drugs at the time, he was all hyped up, basically driving under the influence.
If the police found out, the sentence would be severe.
Danielle Winters hadn't taken drugs, she was still underage, taking the fall would result in a lighter charge. Little William Moses even told her she wouldn't have to go to prison, just do some community service.
At the time, Danielle Winters and Little William Moses were still deeply in love, so without thinking much, Danielle agreed.
A drugged driving, a scapegoat!
They truly are a match made in heaven, don't you think they deserved to die?"
Little Blackie curiously asked, "Why did they have a falling out?"
Ivony David sneered, "After going to prison, Danielle Winters felt wronged, made a lot of demands on Little William Moses. At first, he accommodated her, but later got impatient.
A man who lets a woman take the fall for him, do you think he's worth relying on?
I'm not a good person, but I'd never let my woman suffer."
Luke asked, "How did you orchestrate Little William Moses and Danielle Winters to kill each other?"
Ivony David replied, "Danielle Winters wanted me to steal her mother's car. Seeing that car gave me an idea.
I put on a wig and dressed up as a woman to attack Little William Moses.
But I was too nervous, even though I hit him, I didn't kill him, which I regretted for a long time.
Then, I planned a second move, convincing Danielle Winters to take revenge on Little William Moses.
To have Danielle bring him to a remote place, then I'd 'teach' him a lesson and get some compensation for Danielle.
Danielle was always resentful about taking the fall for her ex, so my plan aligned with her feelings.
She drove my BMW to lure Little William Moses out of the hospital, I got into the car midway, held Little William Moses hostage with a revolver, and handcuffed him.
When he saw the revolver, he must have started to suspect us.
I gagged him, preventing him from communicating with Danielle, making him think that she wanted to kill him.
Danielle played along well, complaining the whole way about taking the fall for him, and said many threatening and resentful words.
When the car reached the abandoned factory, I excused myself to go to the bathroom, leaving Little William Moses and Danielle in the car.
Then, sensing an opportunity, Little William Moses strangled Danielle to death.
As he tried to escape from the car, I shot him dead.
I still remember his desperate eyes, I told him the truth, but before I could finish, the bastard stopped breathing...
Afterwards, I cleaned up the scene, buried their bodies separately, and left different evidence near each body. No matter which one you find first, the other will have evidence and suspicion of murder.
I thought the plan was foolproof, but I didn't expect you to find out."
The police car arrived again at the location where the BMW was abandoned, under Ivony David's indication, dug out Little William Moses's corpse. The corpse was already decomposed, the smell wafting far away, and a revolver was found nearby, with Danielle Winters's fingerprints on it.
Just as Ivony David said, if the police had found this body first, they would indeed suspect Danielle Winters of shooting Little William Moses to death and issue a wanted notice for her as the murderer.
If not for Kaya Ray hiding a photo of Ivony David in a photo album sleeve, letting the deputy know about their relationship, the police wouldn't have suspected Ivony David as the real culprit behind the scenes. Ivony David's plan might have succeeded, and Little William Moses would have been framed as a fugitive by Ivony David.
The police wouldn't have found Little William Moses's body.
This case would have become a mystery.
Ivony David's love for Kaya Ray drove him to murder, and Kaya Ray's love for him led to his capture.
Perhaps this is fate's arrangement.
