Los Angeles Legendary Sleuth

Chapter 463: The Arrest (Part 3)

"Bang!"

Luke's punch was sharp, directly stunning Tommy.

Although Tommy was slim, he exercised regularly and was in good shape. Instinctively, he stepped back, shook his head, and didn't fall directly.

Luke didn't intend to let him off the hook. Taking advantage of Tommy's daze, he pressed on, stepping forward quickly, attacking left and right, and relentlessly pummeling Tommy.

Tommy could only raise his arms to block, tightly protecting his head.

Luke changed his attack direction and punched him in the stomach.

Tommy felt a burst of pain in his stomach, acid rising, and his body curling up like a shrimp, leaving an opening in his defense.

Luke landed a left hook, hitting him directly in the head.

"Bang!"

This punch from Luke was powerful and heavy, knocking Tommy to the ground.

Luke didn't continue to beat him; he needed this guy conscious to interrogate him about Enco Dumate's whereabouts.

Luke wasn't only proficient in boxing but also skilled in jiu-jitsu and wrestling. However, due to their significant difference in boxing levels, other fighting techniques had no chance to be used.

With Tommy on the ground, the surroundings quieted down. The biker gang people shook their heads and sighed, but no one stepped forward to provoke any further.

Firstly, they were intimidated by Luke's identity as a police officer.

Secondly, Luke's boxing skill was high, and Tommy's loss wasn't unjustified.

Luke extended a hand and pulled Tommy up from the ground, "Do you need to go to the hospital?"

"No, your punches aren't as powerful as you think." Despite the pain, Tommy was unwilling to admit defeat.

Luke put on his badge and said, "As promised, tell me where Enco Dumate is."

Tommy didn't answer directly; he looked towards the bearded man.

The bearded man nodded slightly.

He didn't know what had happened and didn't want to clash with the police unnecessarily. He just needed a way out; otherwise, how would his boys see him? Would they think he was afraid of the police, and how could he still hang around in the future?

Luke swiftly defeated Tommy, winning fair and square, effectively providing everyone a way out. Even if his boys were unconvinced, they had nothing to say.

Not convinced? Why don't you fight him yourself? If you can't beat him, don't talk trash.

What? Fighting is too childish, use a gun.

Get lost, you moron, if you want to die, don't drag us down.

...

Ravenwood community.

A black Ford SUV stopped in front of a white brick and tile house.

Luke got out from the passenger seat and whispered a few instructions to Mrs. Dumait, who was getting out from the back seat.

Mrs. Dumait nodded, walked to the door, and knocked on it.

"Knock, knock."

A moment later, the door opened a crack. A white man poked his head out, looking surprised at Mrs. Dumait, "What are you doing here?"

Mrs. Dumait yanked the door open, looking furious, "You coward, hiding away when things go wrong. Are you still a man?"

The man was none other than Mrs. Dumait's husband, Enco Dumate. He retorted, "How did you find this place?"

"Those hooligan friends from your bar told me."

Enco Dumate pushed his wife aside, glancing around the door's sides, saw Luke standing to the right, and demanded, "Who are you?"

Before Luke could introduce himself, Enco Dumate looked at his wife, "Fuck! Where did you bring this pretty boy from?

How dare you betray me!"

Seeing this jerk made Luke furious as well because this jerk almost got him shot and now even called him a pretty boy.

He directly swung his right fist, punching Enco Dumate's left cheek.

"Bang!"

"Ah!" Enco Dumate was knocked to the ground, cursing, "Fuck! How dare you hit me, I swear, you're dead."

Before he could regain his composure, Luke already straddled him, handcuffing his hands and asking, "Ma'am, you're not going to report me, right?"

"No, I can't thank you enough."

"LAPD, you're under arrest." Luke smiled, pulling Enco Dumate up from the ground, and found a gun on him.

Mrs. Dumait also walked over, swung her fist, and landed a hard punch on his right cheek.

"Bang!"

"You bastard, do you know you almost got me and our daughter killed?" Mrs. Dumait seemed not yet satisfied, vigorously hitting Enco Dumate.

Enco Dumate turned his head to dodge, "What the hell happened? Why are you arresting me?"

Luke said, "Drug dealers broke into your home, took your wife and daughter hostage, and accused you of dealing drugs."

"Oh, no, you've got it wrong, I swear to God, I'm not the one dealing; it's Harry Sabo."

Luke said, "Now's not the time to shirk responsibility; it's time to rescue your daughter first."

"Where is my daughter? How is she now?"

Mrs. Dumait, agitated, pointed at Enco Dumate's nose, "How dare you ask? This morning, four men broke into the house, said you took goods without paying.

Couldn't find you, they forced us with guns. Luckily, the police arrived in time to save me.

But our daughter was taken by them. They want you to ransom her with money; if you don't go, they'll sell her to a brothel."

Mrs. Dumait started to cry, a harsh edge in her voice, "What the hell did you do? Our daughter is only eight, she's terrified.

If you can't rescue her, I'll die with you!"

Luke could feel Mrs. Dumait's determination; it seemed more than just words, perhaps a mother's love for her daughter.

Enco Dumate also realized the seriousness of the situation, dejectedly saying, "I never intended to harm you, never expected them to take our daughter.

Things shouldn't have turned out this way; it's all messed up!"

Luke said, "Then why did you take the goods without paying?"

"I told you, it wasn't me, it was Harry's idea, I'm just a runner." Enco Dumate seemed reluctant to say more, shifting his tone, "What can I do to rescue my daughter?

I'll do anything to save her."

At this moment, Luke also couldn't bother questioning about Harry Sabo. The urgent task was to rescue the kidnapped little girl, "The kidnappers demand you pay back the money to release your daughter."

Enco Dumate, weakly said, "But I have no money right now."

Luke said, "We know the kidnappers' hideout. Now, the priority is to keep the kidnappers calm.

You'll need to call the kidnappers if necessary, telling them you'll pay the ransom to prevent them from harming your daughter.

The police will look for an opportunity to rescue your daughter."

"Okay, I'll call them now."

"Not now. If you call directly, it'll not only fail to relax the kidnappers' vigilance but also arouse their suspicion." Luke had successfully captured one of the kidnappers; the best approach was to have the captured kidnapper make the call and then hand it to Enco Dumate, making the kidnappers believe Enco Dumate was already controlled by his associates, to lower their guard.

Of course, this was just the initial plan; the actual operation needed to be adjusted based on the kidnappers' reactions.

Afterward, with Jackson driving, Luke escorted Enco Dumate to the kidnappers' hideout.
