Los Angeles Legendary Sleuth

Chapter 462: Rescue (Part 2)

Luke reloaded his magazine, kept a vigilant watch with his gun, and slowly ascended to the second floor.

Upstairs was a middle-aged black man, shot in the right arm, shoulder, and leg, lying on the ground and gasping heavily.

Luke approached, kicked away his AK47 with one foot. The gunshot wounds on the arm and shoulder were inflicted by Luke, while the leg seemed to have been hit by a stray bullet, the wound not too severe, possibly caused by a shotgun.

Luke asked, "How are you guys doing?"

David replied, "I got hit by a stray bullet on my back, it's not a big deal.

Mrs. Dumait got hit by a stray bullet in her leg, it needs to be stopped bleeding.

How about you? Are you hurt?"

"No."

In such a confined space, ricochets happen easily, bullets bouncing unpredictably. Although their power doesn't match regular bullets, hitting a vital spot can still be deadly, which is why soldiers wear helmets on the battlefield.

Luke looked at the black man by the sofa, who was hit by a shotgun, not by stray bullets, but directly on target, with a fist-sized hole in his chest, dead beyond doubt.

Mrs. Dumait couldn't care less about her leg wound, pleading, "My daughter, please save my daughter."

David asked, "Where is your daughter?"

"They took my daughter, there were four of them in total, two were here watching me, waiting for my husband to come back.

The other two took my daughter and said if my husband doesn't pay back, they'll sell my daughter to a brothel.

My daughter is only eight years old this year, I beg you, you must save her."

David asked, "How many people are there in total?"

"This morning, a total of four people broke into my house, claiming they were looking for my husband, but my husband wasn't home at all, so they threatened me to call him back, but I couldn't reach him.

Then I heard a knock on the door, they told me to open it.

At that time, they were standing on the inside of the door, holding guns, with my daughter in their hands.

Hearing you were the police, I wanted to report it.

But I didn't dare…

I didn't dare."

David comforted, "You did the right thing, don't get too emotional.

As long as they can't find your husband, your daughter won't be in danger for now, I'll help you bandage the wound first."

While stopping the bleeding, David asked, "Why were they looking for your husband?"

"They said my husband took the goods without paying, asking him for the money."

"What goods?"

"I don't know, and I don't dare ask."

"Do you know where Enco Dumate is?"

"I don't know, and I can't contact him. That bastard only knows about racing and drinking all day, I'd rather he got hit by a car someday than what's happening now because of him.

My poor daughter… You must save her."

"When was the last time you saw Enco Dumate?"

"Yesterday morning, he left home and never returned, I called him but couldn't get through."

David realized that this woman didn't know much about Enco Dumate's affairs.

Second floor.

Luke looked coldly at the black middle-aged man lying on the ground and didn't immediately treat him.

"Save me!

I don't want to die!" The black middle-aged man pleaded.

Luke asked, "What's your name?"

The black man hesitated.

Luke didn't say anything else, just stood there quietly.

But the black man couldn't wait, blood kept flowing out of him, "My name is Rider Kramer, I beg you, save me."

Luke helped stop the bleeding on his arm, told him to press the wound on his shoulder himself, as the leg wound was shallow, not a major issue.

"How many of you are there in total?"

"Six people, but only four came, the other two took the little girl, only the two of us stayed to wait for Enco Dumate."

"What are you waiting for Enco Dumate to do?"

"Make him pay."

"Be more specific."

"They took our goods, promised to pay afterward, but the money never came through, so we had to come and get it ourselves."

"What goods did they take from you?"

"Drugs."

"The 'they' you mentioned, who's the other person?"

"Harry Sabo."

"Did they take the goods together?"

"Yes."

"Then why aren't you looking for Harry Sabo?"

"We can't find him."

"Can't find, or have you already taken him out."

Rider Kramer shook his head, "No, we didn't take him out."

Luke saw the other didn't seem to be lying and asked, "How much is that batch worth?"

"Two hundred thousand US Dollars."

"Where's the little girl?"

"In the Davilar Community."

"Is that your hideout?"

"Yes."

"How many people inside? What weapons?"

"Four people, with pistols, rifles, grenades, bulletproof vests, and two cars."

Luke noted down these equipment, "What will you do to that little girl?"

"We don't want to harm her, just want to get back our money, if everyone took goods without paying like them, we couldn't do business."

"Have they taken goods from you before?"

"No, this is the first cooperation. Because we know they are from the racing gang, they manage that area, that's why we agreed they could take goods first and pay later, but didn't expect them not to keep their word.

We may not be many, but we're not to be trifled with."

"If you can't find Enco Dumate, what will you do to the little girl?"
