Los Angeles Legendary Sleuth

Chapter 368 Informant_2

"I just wanted to have a proper talk with you."

"Talk about what?"

"About Billie Warwick's affair."

Quentin Hagsk retorted, "Are you a cop, or are you a detective?"

"That's not important, you just need to answer the questions honestly."

"What do you want to ask?"

"Last time, you said that you had a thing with Billie Warwick, is that true?"

"Why do you want to ask that question? Are you asking as a cop, or as a private detective?

Moreover, that's my personal business, and it seems unnecessary to tell you."

"OK, if you're not willing to cooperate, then I'll have to arrest you for assaulting an officer."

Quentin Hagsk showed an angry expression, "You are a despicable bastard, first using a gun for a sneak attack, now threatening with your police status, I have no respect for you."

"Do I need your respect?"

"If you dare to fight me fair and square and convince me wholeheartedly,

I can answer your question.

Not like this.

I hate dealing with despicable people."

"I am a despicable person?" Luke laughed, "Last time in the garage, it was you who attacked me from behind, and if I hadn't been alert enough, you would have knocked me out from behind.

This time, we agreed to meet alone, yet you brought two minions along.

If I am a despicable person, then what are you?"

"OK, let's not talk about the past.

How about we fight one on one like true men?

If you win, I'll tell you everything I know.

If you lose, we'll be even, and I won't say a thing." Quentin Hagsk also had his own calculations, it was better to take a chance than to be threatened by Luke with an assault on an officer charge.

He was well-built, often involved in fights and brawls, and he was quite confident in his own strength.

Beating up Luke would also give him some satisfaction.

Seeing this, Luke also took out his handgun and placed it on the car, "Then let's fight."

After all, Luke was working part-time, and the so-called arrest for assaulting an officer was just to scare the other party; it would be troublesome if things got escalated and he ended up at the police station.

Moreover, Luke needed Quentin Hagsk's help for Danny Carter's civil lawsuit settlement, so the best strategy was to deceive and coax him into reaching his goal.

Stripping off his jacket and placing his badge on the car, Luke beckoned, "Come on."

Clasping his fists, Quentin Hagsk made it clear, "Let's get this straight, this is a voluntary contest, don't claim I assaulted an officer if you lose."

"Stop the chatter, if you can knock me down, you can go wherever you want, no one will stop you."

"Don't start crying later," Quentin Hagsk said as he clenched his fists and placed them by the sides of his face, adopting a boxing stance.

Luke had experience dealing with these types of ruffians; they often bullied the weak and feared the strong, and the best way was to beat them into submission.

Luke was prepared for a quick fight, aiming to decisively overpower his opponent. The stronger he appeared, the easier it would be to subdue Quentin Hagsk.

After Quentin Hagsk took up a boxing stance, he began to advance on Luke with the intent to attack, while Luke adopted a defensive posture.

Quentin Hagsk moved forward, Luke stepped back.

Quentin Hagsk feinted with his left fist, then threw his right fist at Luke's head. Luke dodged to the side and retreated again.

Quentin Hagsk showed no signs of stopping, continuing to swing his left fist at Luke.

Luke blocked with his right arm; however, this time he didn't retreat but threw a left hook at Quentin Hagsk.

Quentin Hagsk quickly tried to block and dodge.

Luke's attack was a combination, swinging his right arm and landing a punch to the opponent's abdomen.

The punch was extremely fast and fierce, striking directly on the opponent's abdomen.

"Bang!"

Quentin Hagsk winced in pain, his body spasming.

Seeing his chance, Luke stepped forward, grabbed the other's body, and executed a bear hug slam.

"Bang!" This slam was even harder, thoroughly disorienting Quentin Hagsk.

Luke had no intention of stopping, he relentlessly pounded on his opponent's head and then took the chance to lock Quentin Hagsk's neck in a chokehold.

"Errgh..."

Quentin Hagsk made a pained sound from his mouth, clutching at Luke's arm.

Luke kept tightening his grip around Quentin Hagsk's neck, his face turning red and his strength fading.

Luke continued with his hold but stopped short of going too far, as if he was tiring out a hawk, leaving his opponent in a state of oxygen deprivation.

Quentin Hagsk's face showed pain and fear; another squeeze from Luke's arm and he was sure he would suffocate.

This feeling... was utterly powerless, utterly terrifying.

After what felt like ages, Luke finally released his arm.

"Cough, cough..."

Quentin Hagsk lay prostrate, coughing violently and taking deep breaths.

Putting on his leather jacket and his gun, Luke stared down at the semi-prone Quentin Hagsk, "Want to try again?"

"No, I'm convinced…"

"If you had beaten me fair and square last time, I wouldn't have thoughts of revenge," Quentin Hagsk admitted resignedly.

With Luke holding higher status, stronger strength, and being more ruthless, Quentin Hagsk had no choice but to admit defeat.

Losing to someone like that wasn't shameful.

"What do you want to know? Ask."

"Your relationship with Billie Warwick?"

"She is my good friend's girlfriend; I slept with her. Of course, she likes me too, saying I'm better than her boyfriend."
