Chapter 356 Attack_3
In my view, it's a form of love's transmission, and we support her fully."
"How's Christian doing?"
"He was also affected by the explosion, but his injuries aren't serious, and he has already been taken to the hospital for treatment."
"This is horrible. Why would such a thing happen? Have you caught the suspect who planted the bomb?"
"Not yet."
"God will punish them, certainly will..."
...
After completing the statement, Luke and Jackson drove away.
"Captain, did you know the victim?"
"She was my Jujutsu instructor."
"You're good at boxing, so why learn Jujutsu?"
"I don't want my service weapon taken from me."
"OK," said Jackson, slightly embarrassed, and tactfully fell silent.
"Crackle..."
The radio crackled to life, and it was Raymond, "Captain, we've located the courier who delivered to the Jujutsu Club.
His name is Brando Salvatore, and using the tracking provided by the USP courier company, we've pinpointed his location."
"Where?"
"Near 307 Tomalis Street.
He's driving a black Ford sedan, license plate number 7JKb376."
"Good, we'll meet up there."
"Roger that, I'll contact the patrol officers for assistance."
Jackson turned left, changing lanes, and headed towards 307 Tomalis Street.
A few minutes later.
The radio crackled again with Raymond's voice, "Captain, we've arrived at Tomalis Street and have spotted the black suspect vehicle.
It's currently heading south.
I've posted the location in the chat."
"Are you confident you can intercept it?"
Raymond replied, "There's a lot of traffic here, it might be tricky."
"We're nearby and will get there as soon as possible," Luke opened the chat to view the location and showed it to Jackson.
"Received."
Jackson confirmed the suspect vehicle's position and sped up once more.
After a moment, the radio buzzed again, "Captain, the suspect vehicle ran a red light at the intersection just now.
We were blocked by several cars and couldn't immediately follow.
We're on their trail again, but we've lost sight of the suspect vehicle for now—they might have turned off their tail lights.
I've sent another location, the vehicle is still headed south."
Luke asked, "Have they spotted you?"
"We've been very careful; it's impossible that he detected our tail. I can guarantee it."
"We're also nearby, keep on his trail."
"Roger that."
Luke opened the new location and turned to Jackson, "Now it's your turn to shine."
Jackson hit the gas, "I should've driven my BMW."
Luke reminded him, "In a car chase, it's not always about speed, but about being smart.
Intercept in lanes where he's likely to appear."
As he spoke, Luke began to study the map. The streets from which the car had vanished were interconnected in many ways, making a roadblock challenging to set up, but Luke still contacted the patrol department to request their help in intercepting the suspect vehicle.
The suspect's sudden acceleration to shake off the police indicated guilt, and it was highly possible that they were involved in the explosion.
While Luke was assessing the suspect's escape route, Jackson's excited voice suddenly rang out, "Captain, there's a black Ford Sedan up ahead."
Luke looked up and saw indeed there was a black Ford sedan in the distance, but it was too far to make out the license plate. Luke took out binoculars to observe—the plate number was different from the suspect vehicle's.
"Speed up and catch it."
"Is that the suspect vehicle?" Jackson asked, a thrill in his voice.
"The license plate is different."
"Then why chase it?"
"If you can't catch up to it, it's the one."
"Got it." Jackson pressed down the accelerator again, and the car roared, its speed increasing further.
By now, the car was on a more secluded stretch of road with noticeably fewer vehicles around.
The black SUV was speeding quickly, smoothly overtaking several cars in front, but the black Ford sedan was not slow either, and the distance between them did not close.
Luke turned on the siren, "Woo woo..."
The surrounding cars began to give way, but the Ford sedan continued to speed along.
"That's the one." Luke sent the location and the new license plate number to the group, then turned on the walkie-talkie, "We've found the suspect vehicle, heading west on Newbent Street."
"Roger that!"
Luke re-established contact with the patrol department, informing them of the new suspicious license plate and asking them to set up a roadblock ahead.
The two cars engaged in pursuit.
Ahead was an intersection without traffic lights. The black Ford sedan did not slow down and just zoomed through it.
Jackson habitually eased off the accelerator, but the car was still moving fast.
"Bang!"
Suddenly, a red sedan from the cross traffic collided with the tail of Jackson's car.
The SUV did a spinning turn, and Jackson tightly gripped the steering wheel to prevent losing control. Even so, the car skidded quite a distance and crashed into a telephone pole.
"Bang!"
Luke felt like he was on a roller coaster, thankfully he was wearing a seatbelt and holding on to the grab handle, or the consequences would have been unimaginable.
Luke loosened his seatbelt, his body already marked with red from the straps, "Are you hurt?"
Jackson, drenched in sweat and panting heavily, "No, I'm okay."
Luke drew his handgun and got out of the car to check, looking at the red car that caused the accident about a dozen meters away. The front of that car had been hit too, but since it was moving at a slower speed, the damage to the car wasn't severe.
Luke prepared to go over to check, but after taking a few steps, the red car's front and rear windows on the right side both rolled down, revealing two black gun barrels, "Bang bang..."
Two AKs sprayed a torrent of bullets at Luke and the SUV.
Luke quickly bent down and sprinted to take cover behind the SUV, which was reinforced and had better bullet resistance than ordinary cars.
Jackson also scrambled out of the passenger side and hid behind the side of the car, "Captain, who the hell are we dealing with?"
"Dead men."
Remembering the position of the red sedan, Luke said, "Jackson, cover me."
"Are you sure?
"With this?" Jackson shook his handgun; the situation had unfolded too suddenly, and their police equipment and rifles were in the trunk of the car.
Luke's tone was resolute, "You don't need to show your face, you shoot from the front of the car, I'll shoot from the back."
"Captain, be careful."
"I will, take care of yourself."
Jackson took a deep breath, stretched his right hand over the top of the car, and fired in the direction of the red sedan, "Bang bang bang..."
Whether he could hit was all down to luck.
Luke used an 'Accuracy Card', then rolled on the ground to the back of the car, aiming at the muzzle flash from the co-driver's side, "Bang bang bang..."
"Ah!"
It was getting dark, and Luke could hardly see inside the car; he just heard a scream.
"Fuck! Tommy's been shot.
GO GO GO!"
The gunmen in the back seat noticed Luke and sprayed bullets toward the back of the car, "Rat-a-tat..."
Luke quickly ran back to the side of the car to dodge the bullets.
"Woo woo..."
The red sedan floored the gas, quickly speeding away.
Luke ran out from behind the car and fired again, "Bang bang..."
But at this point, it was too dark and too distant; the chance of hitting was very slim.
The red sedan returned fire, "Rat-a-tat" with another flurry of bullets.
The firepower of the opponents was too fierce and it was dark; Luke could only take cover for the time being. While Jackson took the rifle and bulletproof vest from the trunk of the car, the red sedan had already stopped firing, turned off the taillights, and disappeared from sight.
The crash scene was in chaos, with bullet casings scattered everywhere and a pool of blood on the ground.
