Los Angeles Legendary Sleuth

Chapter 351 Practice_3

Quentin Hargis walked into the garage, turned on the light on the garage's doorway wall, and pointed to a car covered with a tarp, "There's the car."

Luke walked over, ready to lift the tarp.

Suddenly, he felt a chill breeze behind him.

Luke had not fully trusted Quentin Hargis, and since entering the garage he had kept an eye on Quentin Hargis through his peripheral vision.

He saw Quentin Hargis pick up a baseball bat from a corner of the garage and swing it toward the back of Luke's head.

Luke, agile in form, quickly dodged to the side, narrowly escaping the baseball bat's assault.

Having missed the first strike, Quentin Hargis swung the baseball bat again, this time sweeping it toward Luke's body.

A longer reach gives a greater advantage.

Luke had strong combat skills, and if the other person were unarmed, at such close range, Luke would choose to subdue the person directly.

But the other person had a baseball bat, and it wasn't easy for him to get close; he might even get hit by the bat.

Luke quickly stepped back several paces and drew his pistol, "Don't move! Or I'll shoot!"

"Fuck!" Quentin Hargis was somewhat frustrated; he hadn't expected Luke to be so alert that his sneak attack failed.

"I don't believe you dare to shoot."

"Then you can try," Luke aimed at his chest.

Seeing that Luke wasn't bluffing, Quentin Hargis's tone softened, "Buddy, there's no need for this, killing me won't do you any good.

We don't have any quarrels, what do you think?"

Luke commanded, "Put the baseball bat on the ground."

Quentin Hargis hesitated for a moment, but seeing the dark muzzle of the gun, he compromised and placed the baseball bat on the ground as Luke had ordered.

"Good, now turn around, and lean on the car."

Quentin Hargis showed a worried expression, "What exactly do you want to do?"

"A pat-down, to ensure you don't have any other weapons."

Quentin Hargis took a deep breath, turned around as instructed by Luke, and placed his hands on the car frame.

Luke walked behind him and quickly wrapped his right arm around the other's throat, tightening his grip.

Quentin Hargis, attacked, instinctively tried to resist, reaching for Luke's right arm.

But Luke was faster, his right hand firmly grasping his left arm at the joint, while his left arm forcefully pressed against his opponent's head from behind.

This was a classic Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu move—the rear naked choke.

It was also one of the deadly techniques commonly used in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

Since learning Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Luke always practiced with Natasha, and though he had defeated Natasha before, their sparring was always to the point and never lethal.

Luke had mastered the techniques of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, but he had never truly 'practiced' them.

Since this bastard dared to sneak attack him, Luke could use him to 'practice' and get a genuine feel for the power of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

Quentin Hargis was terrified, struggling desperately, his hands tightly gripping Luke's arm, trying to pry open Luke's grip to get a breath and break free.

By then, Luke had completed the rear naked choke hold, and Quentin Hargis's struggles were in vain.

He kept an eye on Quentin Hargis's condition as well.

Luke wasn't going to kill him; he just wanted to test the power and feel of the rear naked choke, which would be helpful for future combat.

Luke started without using his full strength, allowing Quentin Hargis a bit of space to breathe; though struggling continuously, Quentin Hargis could never escape the hold of the rear naked choke.

After experiencing it for a while, Luke gained a deeper understanding of the rear naked choke position; once locked in it, there was almost no chance for the person to break free.

Luke increased his strength, no longer holding back.

Quentin Hargis's struggles became more intense, his dark face almost contorting from the effort, and the strength of his struggle dwindled progressively.

Then his body went limp, and he collapsed.

Luke loosened his grip on the man's neck, checked his bodily condition; he was still breathing, just passed out.

Luke had a complete experience of the rear naked choke, different from the sensation during training. This time it was a solid application of force, subduing and choking out his opponent.

This real combat experience was invaluable.

Luke went to the garage door and looked around; because a car was blocking the front, it was hard to see inside the garage.

After observing for a while and seeing no one suspicious, he closed the garage door.

The night was still young, and he had many things yet to do...
