Los Angeles Legendary Sleuth

Chapter 340 Speculation_3

"Let's talk at your house," Luke said, and headed straight for the apartment.

The room was in complete disarray, with various items scattered all over the floor: tables, chairs, lamps, wine glasses, pillows, etc.

"Mr. Yarolim, did World War III break out here?"

Rudger Jaroilm sighed, "My wife loves to throw things when she gets angry."

"So, you hit her."

"No, I've never hit her."

"Then how did she get the injury on her face?"

"It was an accident."

From the looks of the scene, it indeed seemed like a fight had taken place, but Luke had asked two questions, and Rudger Jaroilm didn't show any signs of lying.

"Did she hit you?"

Rudger Jaroilm swallowed hard, "No."

Lies!

Luke said, "Roll up your sleeves."

Rudger Jaroilm's voice carried a hint of pleading, "Please don't do this."

"Mr. Yarolim, now that the police are involved, we have to get to the bottom of this. Do as I say."

Rudger Jaroilm hesitated before slowly rolling up his sleeves, revealing a bruise on his right arm and several lentil-sized scars on his left arm, some new, some old.

"Take off your shirt."

"sir, there really is no need for this."

"Mr. Yarolim, at this point, you can't cover for her anymore."

Rudger Jaroilm sighed and took off his dark shirt, exposing large bruises and lentil-sized scars on his body, along with a slash about a dozen centimeters long on his back, some wounds were red, others had scabbed over.

"Mr. Yarolim, what exactly happened?"

Rudger Jaroilm showed a look of helplessness and complexity, "This morning, she wasn't in a good mood. We had a few arguments and she started hitting me... I didn't fight back, I just wanted to push her away. She got even angrier and climbed on top of me, hitting me hard," the white man pointed to the lentil-sized scars, "These were made by her diamond ring, which is very sharp. I pushed her forcefully, and her face hit the coffee table. It was that simple."

"Does she often hit you?"

"She's not a bad person, just has a really bad temper."

"Why didn't you call the police?"

"Call the police?" the white man let out a bitter smile, "I couldn't bring myself to say it... and I didn't want to see her go to jail."

Luke stepped out of the apartment and asked the white wife, "Mrs. Yarolim, have you ever beaten your husband?"

Jenny looked surprised and asked softly, "Captain, are you mistaken? It's Mrs. Yarolim who is injured, and besides, her husband is at least 20 centimeters taller than her. How could she be the abuser?"

Luke didn't answer but called out to the apartment, "Mr. Yarolim, please come out for a moment."

Rudger Jaroilm came out shirtless, and upon seeing his injuries, all the officers present showed looks of surprise.

They had suspected domestic abuse, but nobody imagined the victim of the abuse to be the tall and broad husband.

"fuck, what the hell did you tell the cops?" the white wife suddenly changed her face and asked her husband loudly.

Rudger Jaroilm defended, "I didn't say anything, they guessed it."

The wife commanded in a tone that brooked no argument, "There is no such thing as domestic violence, understand?"

Seeing the wife's about-face, Jenny couldn't quite believe it.

Recalling the wife's earlier actions, whenever Jenny asked if there had been domestic violence, she would show a panicked expression and look towards her husband.

At the time, Jenny thought the wife was acting out of fear of her husband, but now it seemed the reverse was true, she was scared her own violent deeds would be exposed.

Jenny asked, "What's your name?"

"Fema."

Jenny pulled out handcuffs and pushed her against the wall, "Fema Yarolim, you are under arrest."

Fema glared at Jenny, "You can't arrest me, there's no domestic violence, neither of us will admit it, and arresting me is pointless."

Luke asked, "Then tell me, how did your husband get these injuries?"

"I don't know, maybe he got them by accident?"

Luke grabbed her wrist and pointed to the ring on it, "The scars on your husband's back were left by this diamond ring. This is the evidence."

"This is none of your business, it's a matter between my husband and me. Honey, say something, there was no domestic violence, right?"

Rudger Jaroilm hesitated and lowered his head.

Fema shouted, "Why won't you answer me? Why won't you clear this up for me. Did you call the police, did you bring these cops here?"

Seeing her husband silent, Fema grew angrier, swearing, "fuck! You bastard, you dare betray me. You're dead. Once I get out, I won't let you go. I'm going to kill you!"

Jenny said in disbelief, "What a crazy woman."

Rudger Jaroilm stepped over to Luke and asked, "sir, can we let her go?"

Luke glanced at him, "You haven't been hit enough?"

"After all, she is my wife. I just don't want her to go to jail, that would be the end of our home..."

"Save it for the court," Luke said.
