Chapter 261: Dragon God's Wrath and Nemesis of the Undead
"My Psychic Network will surpass the Five Great Networks sooner or later..."
After mastering it, Rosen took out the Sequence 3 Broodmother Egg.
The Zerg Broodmother excelled at capturing the genes of various lifeforms to create different types of Zerg.
Rosen strongly suspected that the Zerg civilization had inherited part of the legacy of the Old God Civilization.
However, it was certainly not the Old God's bloodline or sequences. Otherwise, with the World Gene Pool at their disposal, the Broodmothers wouldn't have needed to collect genes from different races.
Rosen's task was to integrate the World Gene Pool into the Broodmother Egg.
Elite units in his territory were important, but cannon fodder was equally vital.
Large-scale Zerg units were highly efficient at both occupying territory and mining resources.
On lower-tier battlefields, swarms of Zerg were unbeatable, while elite Zerg could hold their own on high-end battlefields.
The Broodmother born from the Broodmother Egg would not only be a transcendent lifeform but also function as a military building.
Since transcendent lifeforms had growth potential, this meant it would be a growing military structure.
As Rosen continued modifying the Broodmother Egg, an unsettling feeling crept over him.
It felt like this path was fundamentally wrong.
Pausing his work, Rosen pondered where he had gone astray.
He couldn't figure it out—his knowledge and insight weren't yet sufficient to pinpoint the mistake.
However, the Time, Fate, History, and Intuition rule authorities he wielded instinctively warned him that something was amiss.
Rosen took out the Yinglong Dragon Orb, hoping to find answers.
Although the Yinglong's memories were fragmented, he eventually discovered the problem.
"Flesh is fragile; only spirituality is eternal."
The statement didn't mean that flesh-based Zerg were inferior, but rather that spiritual lifeforms like the Psychic Broodmother were superior.
The reasoning was simple.
There were two types of matter:
Spiritual matter, dominated by spirituality.Physical matter, composed primarily of elements like soil, rock, and energy.
The total amount of physical matter was difficult to increase.
In the main world, all transformations of physical matter adhered to the law of conservation.
Even seemingly miraculous acts, such as a farmer growing transcendent plants, consumed existing physical matter.
Since all physical matter belonged to the main world, the more transcendent beings extracted, the harder it became to transcend the main world.
However, spirituality was different.
Spirituality, as a type of mental matter, could grow endlessly from nothing.
This was because spirituality could give birth to life, and life possessed intelligence and thought.
Whether it was the knowledge created by intelligence or the faith generated by thought, both contributed to the net increase of mental matter in the main world.
This was why humans, as the most intelligent beings, were naturally favored by the main world.
It was likely also why the Second Age Old Gods' main world gradually evolved into a spirituality-dominated world.
When transcendent beings prioritized spirituality, their extraction from the world's origin was significantly reduced.
Meanwhile, their post-death contributions of spiritual matter back to the world increased substantially.
Thus, in the current era, spirituality reigned supreme.
The Zerg had likely realized this truth, which led to the creation of the Psychic Broodmother.
If Rosen cultivated flesh-based Zerg, the consumption would be too great and ultimately not worth the cost.
Only by cultivating spirituality-based Zerg could he truly align with the times.
However, this would greatly reduce the value of the World Gene Pool.
Of course, it wouldn't become completely useless—after all, even spiritual beings needed physical bodies.
A fleshly form could assist in spiritual growth, while purely spiritual beings often grew more slowly.
That said, the development of physical forms would need to shift from combat purposes to assisting spiritual growth.
Despite identifying the correct direction for modification, Rosen paused the process.
The predicted outcome still didn't meet his expectations.
Why did the Psychic Broodmother bring the Broodmother Egg to the Continent of Death?
The more Rosen delved into the Zerg, the more he sensed something off.
Zerg spiritual realms were rare but not unheard of.
If Broodmother Eggs were so easy to obtain, the Zerg would have already resurfaced.
In fact, aside from rumors of Broodmothers being kept in captivity within the Abyss, the main world had never seen any trace of the Zerg.
Further investigation revealed that the Zerg's reverence for Broodmother Eggs was beyond imagination.
Unless hatched, the Broodmother Eggs were always kept under the most stringent protection within the Divine Kingdoms of True Gods.
In this context, the fact that a Zerg spiritual realm in the Continent of Death had dropped a Broodmother Egg could only be explained by a historical event where a Psychic Broodmother had brought the egg to the Continent of Death.
For the Zerg to take such a significant risk, it was clear that the Continent of Death held great importance to them.
When Rosen first obtained the Broodmother Egg, he noticed it contained an extraordinarily unique death energy.
However, since he hadn't hatched it back then, he hadn't paid much attention. Now that he wanted to hatch it, the death energy had mysteriously disappeared.
Thus, Rosen planned to return to the Continent of Death after completing the enhancement of Dragon King's Wrath to investigate further.
Even if he found nothing, he at least intended to take control of the Zerg spiritual realm.
If it could continue producing Broodmother Eggs, he had to monopolize it.
If it couldn't, he would destroy it entirely.
While Rosen was researching the Broodmother Egg at the hotel, Daewen finally brought good news.
In Daewen's Wizard Tower, Rosen met Bodie Klaus, Daewen's mentor.
Bodie was a Sequence 1 Mechanical Inventor, holding a highly esteemed position throughout the Divine Weapon Kingdom.
That Daewen had managed to invite Bodie over genuinely surprised Rosen.
"Spare me the formalities. Show me your Dragon King's Wrath," Bodie said bluntly.
Rosen handed over the firearm. After examining it for a moment, Bodie frowned and returned it.
"This is already near perfect," Bodie remarked skeptically. "Sequence 3 base quality, 100% evolution potential—it can easily be upgraded to Sequence 2. Unless you have materials for me to forge a Sequence 1 transcendent firearm from scratch, there's no point in further enhancing it."
"I want to strengthen it straight to Sequence 1," Rosen said decisively.
"So confident—what materials have you prepared?" Bodie asked, clearly intrigued.
Rosen partially expanded his Divine Domain, revealing a breathing Bronze Dragon lying on the ground.
Bodie rubbed his eyes in disbelief before rushing into Rosen's Divine Domain.
Rosen allowed him full access, and Bodie appeared beside the Dragon Puppet, examining it with fascination.
"Are you looking to forge a Sequence 1 mechanical mount or a mechanical warship?" Bodie asked without turning his head.
"I want to integrate it into Dragon King's Wrath," Rosen stated directly.
"I can't do it," Bodie responded without hesitation. "The smaller the structure, the harder it is. Fully integrating an entire Sequence 1 Bronze Dragon into a single transcendent firearm—nobody in the entire human world can achieve that. Perhaps a True God from the Mechanical Race could."
"Then make it bigger. I have a way to shrink it," Rosen said after a moment of thought.
"Are you sure? Once it's enlarged, not even a Titan might be able to wield it," Bodie asked, surprised.
Seeing Rosen's firm nod, Bodie fell into contemplation.
He didn't question further. Reasonable skepticism was part of his professionalism, but once a client insisted, his job was to deliver what the client wanted—not impose his personal preferences.
A few days later, Rosen's Divine Domain was bustling with activity.
High-ranking scientists from the Divine Weapon Kingdom's Scientist Sequence had all arrived.
In addition to Bodie, the Sequence 1 Mechanical Inventor, there was also a biologist, a physicist, a pharmacist, and a medical scientist, making a total of five Sequence 1 scientists collaborating on the Bronze Dragon Puppet.
None of the Sequence 1 scientists charged Rosen a single Spiritual Crystal for their services.
They even opened up their private collections, allowing Rosen to use them at cost price.
Their generosity was no mystery—an intact Sequence 1 Bronze Dragon, with its soul extinguished but its body preserved as a living dragon puppet, was a material of unprecedented rarity.
None of them had ever seen, let alone heard of, such a perfect specimen before.
For these scientists, working with it presented an unparalleled opportunity to edge closer to Sequence 0.
The five scientists directly moved into Rosen's Divine Domain, bringing along dozens of student assistants to aid in the project.
Rosen made a special trip to the Mechanical Continent, bringing Amy back with him to learn from the masters.
After five years of research and design, the blueprint for the upgraded version of Dragon King's Wrath, now called Dragon God's Wrath, was finalized.
In the end, Rosen didn't insist on his original idea. Simply crafting it as a transcendent firearm would have been a waste. The final design made Dragon God's Wrath a mechanical bio-warship that could transform into a giant transcendent firearm, and even into a transcendent building—the Time Dragon Nest.
Designing it alone took five years, and construction would require several decades.
While much of the design work could be carried out in accelerated virtual time, certain aspects that couldn't be simulated had to be done in the real world, where time acceleration was used instead.
In this regard, the Time Tower played a crucial role.
Normally, a Sequence 5 Time Tower could only accelerate time fivefold for Sequence 3 projects.
Fortunately, the Fairy Dragoness had also advanced to Sequence 3.
Her unique miracle trait, Fantasy Armament, boosted the Time Tower to Sequence 3.
While it couldn't fully overcome the gap for projects above Sequence 3, it could still provide fourfold time acceleration for Sequence 1 endeavors.
With these adjustments, the estimated construction time was fifty years in real time.
Rosen decided to settle temporarily in Divine Weapon Sky City, spending his free time refining and polishing his divinity using the Primordial Oil Lamp.
In just fifty years, his divinity strength had ascended from 79 points to 81 points—a remarkable feat for Sequence 3, accomplished simply by hunting a few Sequence 3 dragon beasts.
In the final months of Dragon God's Wrath's creation, Rosen participated in every step.
Since the Dragon God's Wrath would be Sequence 1 and a mechanical bio-warship, completing the bonding process was difficult.
Thus, for the final assembly, Rosen had to continuously infuse his divinity into the Sequence 1 Dragon Crystal.
On the day Dragon God's Wrath was completed, Rosen simultaneously finished the mastery ritual.
There was no celebratory banquet—Bodie and the others simply bid their farewells.
Under time acceleration, two hundred years had passed for them. Their gains were significant, and rather than attending a banquet, they were eager to consolidate their findings.
Rosen, on the other hand, retrieved the Sequence 3 Ancient True Blood of the Old Gods, which had formed within his Old God Heart Aperture over the years.
He directly integrated this drop of Ancient True Blood into the Hunter Sequence's innate skill, Weapon Mastery.
This skill was already excellent, allowing for the stacking of properties and traits between primary and secondary weapons.
However, to wield Dragon God's Wrath effectively, Rosen needed Weapon Mastery to evolve further.
[Weapon Grandmaster: Miracle Skill]
[Passive Trait: Enables deep binding between one primary and one secondary weapon, stacking properties and traits.]
[Active Trait: Temporarily grants weapons destructive power based on their level.]
[Miracle Features: Weapon Adaptation, Heaven and Earth Unique, Eternally Indestructible]
The passive trait inherited its original properties, but the destructive effect of the active trait was exceptionally powerful.
It specifically targeted transcendent artifacts and structures, delivering true damage against inanimate objects, a trait highly coveted by mechanical warships.
Without the Ancient True Blood, it would have been impossible to obtain such a feature.
The Weapon Adaptation Miracle Feature allowed weapons to perfectly adjust to their user.
If Rosen shrank, Dragon God's Wrath would shrink with him.
When he activated the transformation ability of the Old God Body, becoming larger than a Titan, Dragon God's Wrath would scale up accordingly.
Even if he transformed into a Bronze Dragon, Dragon God's Wrath would shift into a perfectly fitting weapon form.
Rosen extended his hand, and the thousand-meter-long Dragon God's Wrath shrank down into his grasp.
[Source Essence: Dragon God's Wrath (Transcendent Artifact)]
[Level: Sequence 1 (Evolution Value 0%)]
[Attributes: Increases base damage by 2000%, capable of three forms—firearm, mechanical bio-warship, and Time Dragon Nest.]
[Attachments: Temporal Destruction Cannon, Dragon Crystal Engine, Time Radar, Time Dream Mirror Defense Module, etc.]
[Source Essence Skills: Full Bronze Dragon Sequence Skill Set, Dragon God Roar Shell]
[Embedding Slot: Temporal Divinity Core]
With terrifying base damage, three distinct forms, and comprehensive offensive, defensive, and support modules, Rosen couldn't accurately gauge how powerful Dragon God's Wrath had become.
What surprised him the most was the discovery of a complete Temporal Divinity Core inside the Dragon Puppet.
This alone nearly placed Dragon God's Wrath on the threshold of Sequence 0.
The presence of a Divinity Core dramatically enhanced its ability to process faith, allowing the Bronze Dragon to potentially reconstruct its spiritual origin and resurrect itself.
No wonder the Bronze Dragon had turned into a Dragon Puppet upon its fall.
Had Rosen not crafted Dragon God's Wrath and dissected the Dragon Puppet, it was entirely possible that the Dragon Puppet's spiritual origin would have one day regenerated, resurrecting to stab him in the back.
However, the Temporal Divinity Core was now completely under Rosen's control.
Since it was formed from the Bronze Dragon's ascended transcendent source essence, it perfectly supported all of the Bronze Dragon's Sequence skills.
Typically, Sequence 1 source essence equipment could hold up to nine skills across nine sequences.
But now, Dragon God's Wrath carried the full skill set of the Sequence 1 Bronze Dragon.
Setting Dragon God's Wrath aside, Rosen retrieved his Hunting Gun Set and began refining it.
His divinity strength was now 82 points, and with the Old God Artifact providing an additional nine-point boost, his total divinity strength was on par with Sequence 1 of the Bronze Sequence. Refining Sequence 1 transcendent artifacts was now effortless for him.
[Hunting Gun Set: Transcendent Artifact]
[Level: Sequence 1]
[Attributes: Gradually strengthens firearm properties, breaking the upper limits and raising firearm sequence levels.]
[Traits: Firearm Enhancement, Firearm Repair, Firearm Enchantment]
Rosen placed Dragon God's Wrath into the gun set, and its evolution value began to grow slowly.
Given enough time—several thousand years—Dragon God's Wrath would undoubtedly be enhanced to Sequence 0.
For now, the firearm enhancement and firearm repair traits weren't particularly useful. Damaging Dragon God's Wrath wasn't easy, as it had been fused with the Sequence 1 transcendent artifact Time Dream Mirror during its creation.
Only a deity could bypass the temporal fog and harm it.
However, Rosen was particularly interested in firearm enchantment, as it would allow Dragon God's Wrath to fuse with a second divinity core.
If he could obtain another divinity core, Dragon God's Wrath would become even more formidable.
But this was easier said than done. Obtaining Sequence 1 transcendent source essence was already challenging—securing a divinity core was even more difficult.
After familiarizing himself with Dragon God's Wrath's power in the Spiritual Realm, Rosen eagerly used data transmission to travel to the Continent of Death.
So many years had passed that unexpected changes had occurred in the Zerg Spiritual Realm.
Initially, despite its upgrade to Sequence 3, it had only attracted a few Sequence 3 undead demigods.
But over time, Sequence 3 undead demigods began to frequently fall within the spiritual realm.
Eventually, the realm's level advanced from Sequence 3 to Sequence 2.
When the first Sequence 2 undead demigod perished there, it caused a massive commotion throughout the Continent of Death.
Sequence 3 was considered the bottom tier of demigods, merely a stage for initial accumulation.
Only at Sequence 2 were beings truly deserving of the demigod title.
Sequence 1 marked the transitional stage from demigod to deity.
The Sequence 2 undead demigod who perished in the Zerg Spiritual Realm wasn't a weakling either—it was a titled demigod.
Even when faced with most Sequence 1 beings, it might not win but could at least escape.
That it had died outright within the realm suggested that the Zerg within the spiritual realm were natural nemeses of the undead.
This development caused an uproar, prompting the undead clan to mobilize a force of twenty titled Sequence 2 demigods in preparation to storm and seize the Zerg Spiritual Realm.
If this attempt failed to destroy the realm, it was likely that a True God of the undead clan would personally intervene to annihilate it.
This was Rosen's last chance.
The sudden upgrade of the Zerg Spiritual Realm to Sequence 2 had caught not only the undead off guard but also Rosen himself.
However, it further confirmed his suspicion that the Psychic Broodmother sent to the Continent of Death in the Zerg civilization's final days carried an important mission.
What was once a ruined city where the Zerg Spiritual Realm was located had now been fortified into a military stronghold.
Even transcendent undead beings without Sequence 3 strength couldn't enter.
Nevertheless, under the protection of the Wolf Totem, Rosen effortlessly infiltrated the fortress and approached the Zerg Spiritual Realm.
He only needed to wait for the realm to restart before entering immediately.
However, doing so would undoubtedly alert the titled demigods within the fortress.
He would have only one chance to seize control of the Zerg Spiritual Realm.
Two months passed in the blink of an eye.
The Zerg Spiritual Realm restarted, automatically opening a spatial vortex for entry and exit.
The undead were merely guarding it and had no intention of entering immediately.
Gathering twenty titled Sequence 2 demigods wasn't easy.
Some of these high-level beings had no interest in the Zerg Spiritual Realm, while others were preoccupied with other matters.
Gathering twenty of them would likely take over a decade.
