With the morning light settling in, Nuxsus stirred from his shabby bed. He cracked his neck, stood up, and walked over to the window, opening it wide. The sun's rays greeted him, and instantly, he felt it.

'Tch. My powers drop by 20% in sunlight… Ain't that something?'

His gaze swept over the room before landing on the couch. Harley was still out cold, snoring away, limbs sprawled like she owned the place.

'I need retainers… but I need useful ones.'

Without hesitation, he flicked his wrist. A bucket floated into the air before tipping over, sending a splash of cold water straight onto the sleeping clown.

"AAAAAH! WHAT THE HELL?!" Harley shrieked, jerking upright as water dripped from her hair. She blinked furiously, smacking her pigtails against the couch. "Ugh! Ya ever heard of shakin' someone awake?! Maybe a lil' 'Rise and Shine, puddin'?'"

"Silence." Nuxsus' tone was firm, unimpressed. "You're property now. I do whatever I want with you."

Harley huffed, wringing out her hair. "Geez, ya really know how to treat a lady, don'tcha?"

He ignored her whining. "I need information. Who was that bat from yesterday? Are there others like him? Who is that bat's ultimate rival?" He crossed his arms, eyes glowing faintly. "Speak."

Harley sighed dramatically. "Ugh, can't this wait a bit? I'm super tired—"

A knife whistled through the air, slicing past her cheek, close enough to draw a thin line of blood. It embedded itself in the wall behind her with a solid thunk.

Harley froze, her breath hitching as she swallowed hard.

"You do not get to refuse my orders," Nuxsus said, his eyes burning red—a mix of their natural color and the new vampiric hue. "Do as I say, and you live. Simple as that."

Harley wiped her cheek, frowning. "Okay, okay! Sheesh! Uhmm…" She took a second to gather her thoughts before speaking quickly. "The guy ya fought yesterday? That was Batman."

Nuxsus narrowed his eyes. "And?"

"His biggest rival is actually Mr. J," Harley continued, voice wavering slightly before she forced herself back into her usual playful tone. "There's some other folks too, but I'd say Mistah J's the most opposite to Batsy."

Nuxsus leaned against the table. "And what about others? Are there more heroes?"

"Oh yeah! Tons! Like, a whole freakin' army of 'em. Some just as scary as Bats—hell, some are scarier. And guess what? They even got themselves a lil' clubhouse! Call themselves the Justice League."

"Justice League?" Nuxsus scoffed. "Pathetic."

Harley blinked. "Huh?"

"So people make hobbies out of protecting the weak?" Nuxsus shook his head in disdain. "When did that become necessary? Civilians pay taxes. The army fights for them. Strong civilians become the army. That was the way of things. Why complicate it with this… game of heroes and villains?"

Harley tilted her head. "Huh. Never really thought about it that way…"

Nuxsus frowned. "If Batman's greatest rival is Joker, why hasn't he killed him? From the level of skill I saw yesterday, Batman is clearly stronger."

Harley smirked. "Oh yeah, Batsy's got this iron-strong rule—he don't kill."

Nuxsus raised an eyebrow. "What?"

"He don't kill, like, at all. Says if he does, he's just like the bad guys," Harley explained with a lazy wave of her hand.

"That's illogical. If he lets Joker live, Joker just kills more people."

Harley shrugged. "I mean… yeah, but he throws us in jail. We just break out. It's like a vacation at this point."

Nuxsus stilled. His fingers drummed against the table as he processed what she had just said.

"Heroes who don't kill. Villains who get locked up, only to escape and try again. It's a fucking cycle, isn't it?"

A soft giggle echoed in his mind.

"Ahhh… Now you're gettin' it," a familiar voice purred.

Chaos materialized beside him, stretching like a satisfied cat. She grinned, eyes twinkling with amusement. "See how the Balance works now? It never tips fully to one side. It just loops—good vs. evil, forever and ever."

Nuxsus' fingers stopped. "So if the scales did tip… if one side won?"

Chaos tilted her head. "If good wins, then light takes over. If evil wins, darkness consumes. But as long as the cycle keeps spinning, Balance is preserved."

"But…" Nuxsus leaned forward, eyes gleaming. "What if someone broke the cycle? Tipped the scales endlessly, to both sides until it broke?"

Chaos' grin widened.

"Then, my dear Nuxsus…" she whispered, voice dripping with anticipation.

"I win."

....

Nuxsus stood up, stretching his limbs as he prepared to finally step outside and assess the world for himself. But just as he took his first step, a sudden dizziness washed over him.

'Something is wrong…'

His vision blurred for a moment, but he steadied himself. Then, an unfamiliar sensation crept up his jaw, coiling around his instincts like a predator stirring from slumber.

His fangs ached.

'Oh… I see.'

A low, knowing chuckle rumbled in his chest.

'So this is the hunger vampires feel… I get it now.'

His crimson eyes gleamed in the dimly lit room as they flicked toward the couch. Harley was still lounging there, lazily swinging her legs, absentmindedly twirling a strand of her damp pigtails.

"Harley," he called, his voice smooth yet commanding.

Harley instantly sat up straight, almost like a soldier at attention. "Yes! Mr. Nux!"

"Come here." He patted his lap. "Sit."

Harley blinked, then smirked. "Ohhh… so you finally decided to play with me, huh, Mr. Nux?"

She wasted no time, slipping onto his lap without hesitation, pressing her body against him. Her fingers trailed over his chest, tracing the hard, sculpted lines of his muscles.

"Damn…" she murmured, wrapping her arms around his neck. "You look amazing, Mr. Nux."

Nuxsus said nothing. Instead, he tilted his head, bringing his lips closer to her skin.

Harley's breath hitched.

She expected a kiss—something teasing, something rough and dominant. Her grip on him tightened in anticipation.

But he ignored her lips entirely.

His mouth pressed against her neck instead.

"Oh… that's sweet too—UGH, what the—?!"

Without warning, his fangs pierced her skin.

Harley gasped. A sharp sting shot through her veins, but before she could react—before she could even think—a wave of unexpected pleasure crashed over her.

Her body trembled.

Her breathing turned ragged.

She clung to him, her nails digging into his back as her mind spun.

"Aghhh… uhh… w-what is this…?" she moaned, her voice barely above a whisper.

The more blood he took, the hotter her body felt. It was intoxicating—utterly overwhelming.

She had never felt anything like it.

By the time Nuxsus pulled away, his lips glistening with crimson, Harley was barely holding herself together.

"It seems…" He wiped his mouth, licking away the last drop. "Someone has tasty blood."

Harley shuddered, still sprawled across his lap, her body weak from the experience.

Nuxsus' gaze flicked downward, noticing the familiar red and blue panties she always wore, were a mess...

His expression remained unreadable as he stood up, leaving her there.

"Go take a shower," he ordered, his tone cool and firm. "We're leaving in an hour."

Harley barely managed to sit up, her breaths shallow.

"R-Right…" she muttered, dazed.

As she stumbled toward the bathroom, Nuxsus smirked.

'Interesting… very interesting. a Vampire's charm is a great skill'
