Chapter 78 - 78 Save Me, Mistress
78 Save Me, Mistress
Mei Niang pushed the door open and only saw the fat woman lying on the floor. Su Ying was nowhere to be seen in the room.
Mei Niang slowly walked into the house and warily checked the surroundings. Just as she reached the beam where Bai Shuang was hanging from, Su Ying quickly jumped down from the beam and stabbed the tranquilizer dart into Mei Niang’s body.
Mei Niang’s eyes widened, and as she fell, she stared at Su Ying in shock.
Su Ying immediately turned around and cut the ropes around Bai Shuang’s hands before lowering her down from the beam.
Su Ying’s cold fingers felt Bai Shuang’s pulse. After confirming that her pulse was still beating, she let out a deep breath of relief.
“Bai Shuang, Bai Shuang. Wake up, Bai Shuang.”
Su Ying called out to her a few times, but Bai Shuang didn’t respond. She could only bring her into the interspatial store. She then took some medicine from the rack in the treatment room and gave Bai Shuang an injection.
“Bai Shuang, Bai Shuang?”
Bai Shuang’s eyelashes fluttered. Just as she was about to open her eyes, Su Ying brought her out of the interspatial store.
Bai Shuang slowly opened her eyes. The moment she saw Su Ying, she burst into tears with a loud wail. “Mistress, Mistress! Save me, Mistress!”
Su Ying hugged her tightly and helped her put on the clothes that she had retrieved from her interspatial store earlier. “Don’t be afraid. I’m here.”
Bai Shuang’s body trembled. She looked around and screamed in fear.
“Close your eyes and don’t look. I’ll take you out in a while.” Su Ying tore a piece of cloth from her body to cover Bai Shuang’s eyes. Thereafter, she held Bai Shuang’s hand and stood up. However, she realized that Mei Niang, who had collapsed to the ground earlier, had disappeared.
Su Ying frowned. Although the anesthesia she gave Mei Niang wasn’t a lot, it was still sufficient to make her sleep until the next morning. She shouldn’t be able to wake up so quickly unless she had some heaven-defying ability.
Her disappearance could only mean one thing. Someone else was in the wooden building.
To be on the safe side, she brought Bai Shuang out of the house. The courtyard of the wooden building was completely empty, and there was no one in sight at all.
Su Ying brought Bai Shuang to the front yard of the wooden house. After kicking the main door open, they left.
As soon as they left, a black figure appeared in the dark courtyard, staring at their back profiles for a long time without moving its gaze.
After breathing in the fresh air outside, Bai Shuang’s legs went weak and she almost collapsed to the ground.
Su Ying quickly caught her.
“Don’t be afraid. We’ll be back soon.”
“Mistress, where are Young Master and Young Miss? Have you found them?”
Su Ying knitted her eyebrows. “They were with Aunt Zhao the whole time. They didn’t leave the open space. Why do you ask?”
“They didn’t get lost?” Bai Shuang asked in surprise. “Then why did Madam Sun say they disappeared?”
Su Ying stopped in her tracks. “What did you say? She told you that the children were lost?”
Bai Shuang nodded with red-rimmed eyes. “Yes. At that point, I was collecting firewood at the side of the open space. Later, she suddenly ran over and said that the Young Master and the others had disappeared. She said that they had gone to that wooden building. I was worried about Young Master and Young Miss, so I went to the wooden building to ask. To my surprise, the door of the courtyard slammed shut as soon as I entered. The… the people inside were like monsters…”
When Bai Shuang finished speaking, she curled up in fear as if she had suffered great trauma, and her whole body trembled.
Su Ying felt awful when she saw Bai Shuang in this state. She squatted down and hugged her while comforting her. “Don’t be afraid, don’t be afraid. I’m here. It’s my negligence.”
Bai Shuang shook her head as she cried, “How is this your fault, Mistress? It is I who is useless. I was so stupid to believe that Madam Sun’s words.”
Madam Sun!
A sharp glint flashed across Su Ying’s almond-shaped eyes swiftly.
“Let’s go back first. Don’t let them worry.”
Bai Shuang nodded and stood up. Su Ying helped her back to the open space.
When they came back, Tian Mu and the others were still busy working, so not many people noticed Bai Shuang’s abnormal behavior.
Madam Sun, who had returned a long time ago, saw Bai Shuang and Su Ying return and hid behind Wang Lang with a somewhat guilty look.
“Bai Shuang, where have you been for so long?” Uncle Hea was cooking and asked anxiously when he saw that Bai Shuang had returned.
Bai Shuang had just stopped crying, but when she heard Uncle Hea’s question, her eyes turned red-rimmed again.
“Take a seat and rest for a while.” Su Ying supported Bai Shuang and sat her down by the fire. She then turned around and walked over to Xiao Jin.
Xiao Jin looked at her sullen expression and realized that something was wrong. “What’s wrong? Did something happen?”
“Mm-hmm. Did Zhao Neng find out anything about the woman in the wooden building next door?”
Xiao Jin shook his head. “The people living in the front said that this wooden building was already here when they came here a few years ago. This woman seems to have opened a noodle shop in the base camp. He couldn’t get anything else out of them.”
A strange expression appeared on Su Ying’s face when she heard that.
“What’s wrong?” Xiao Jin was puzzled.
“That noodle restaurant probably uses human meat, right?”
“Human meat?”
“Mm-hmm. I just came out from inside, and there were remnant human corpses all over the place.”
Xiao Jin furrowed his brows. “No wonder this open space hasn’t been used for so long. It turns out that the woman is using it as bait.”
It wasn’t that nobody was interested in this piece of open space. It was likely that the people who had settled in this open space had all died in the wooden building.
“Today, Madam Sun told Bai Shuang that Ling and Ji had disappeared. She asked Bai Shuang to look for them in the wooden building. After that, Bai Shuang was captured and locked up in the wooden building. Xiao Jin, do you know what I want to do?”
Xiao Jin’s expression clouded over. “Just go ahead and do what you want. No one owes them anything.”
“Alright.”
Su Ying’s eyes were completely filled with hostility. She slowly turned around and headed in the direction where Madam Sun was.
Madam Sun was hiding behind Wang Lang. When she saw Su Ying walking over, all the hair on her body stood up.
Wang Lang only knew that Madam Zhou had not found a water source today. He thought that Su Ying was here to reprimand them.
“Mother, in a while, you should apologize to Mistress properly. You all have tried your best and if you can’t find it, I believe that Mistress will not blame you.”
Wang Lang had no way of knowing that Madam Sun wasn’t afraid of this.
“Get your ass out here.” Su Ying walked up to the two of them and looked at Madam Sun without any expression.
Wang Lang was a little helpless. “Mistress…”
“Shut up!”
Su Ying had completely lost her patience and immediately grabbed Madam Sun with one hand.
“Argh!” Madam Sun screamed in fear.
“Let me go, you demon! Let me go!”
“Mistress, if you want to punish someone, please punish me, Mistress…”
Su Ying ignored Wang Lang totally. She grabbed Madam Sun by the neck and lifted her up.
“Oof, oof…” Madam Sun was grabbed by the neck, and she could only see darkness in front of her eyes. Su Ying’s icy voice resounded in her ears. “Speak. Who told you to lure Bai Shuang to the wooden building?”
Madam Sun kicked her legs in despair. Just as she was about to faint, Su Ying suddenly slammed her on the ground violently.
“Argh! Cough, cough, cough!”
Madam Sun coughed for a while, and her tears and snot all flew out.
However, Su Ying didn’t plan to let her off so easily.
“I’ll ask you again. Who was it?”
The angry roar almost broke Madam Sun’s eardrums. She stared at Su Ying in terror and said in a trembling voice, “It’s… it’s a woman in red. It’s a woman in red…”
