Longevity with My Offspring

Chapter 103: When the Snipe and the Clam Fight

"This thing is too agile; we've got to find a way to restrict it."

After missing twice in a row, Ge Changzhuang was somewhat displeased: "How about I go in close for an attack, and you find a way to lock it down for a swift kill."

He was not accustomed to ranged attacks, a habit honed by years of close combat.

"You force it to dodge, and I'll take the chance to restrain it."

Yun Conghui nodded, they couldn't just let this thing toy with them endlessly.

"Alright!"

Ge Changzhuang slapped his Storage Pouch, and a Golden Long Halberd appeared, its tip smooth as a mirror with white currents flickering. He swung it in his hand and viciously stabbed towards the demonic creature.

Black mists roiled as the creature dodged once more, but Ge Changzhuang quickly closed in alongside the Long Halberd, launching a powerful Palm Force.

This time, the creature couldn't evade, extending its ghostly claw for a counter-strike. With a loud boom, Palm Force collided with black mists, disintegrating part of its evil energy, revealing a face resembling an evil spirit, two meters tall and resembling an enlarged monkey-like monster.

The creature stood firm against Ge Changzhuang's attack, not retreating but knocking Ge Changzhuang back instead, displaying immense strength which left Ge Changzhuang quite astonished.

"Take this hammer!"

Yun Conghui's Thunder Shock Hammer followed with a smash, the creature raised its claws to block, managing to catch the Magical Artifact but becoming engulfed by the Thunder Power, blasting away a good portion of the black mists.

The creature let out a painful shriek, its eyes glaring fiercely as it grabbed the hammer with black mists gushing out.

The Thunder Shock Hammer shuddered, surprisingly suppressed by the black mists.

At this moment, Ge Changzhuang retrieved his Long Halberd, delivering an arc-like slash on the creature's body. With a sizzling sound, sparks erupted, leaving a crack but not breaking through.

"What? This physical body is comparable to a Magical Artifact!"

Ge Changzhuang was shocked, "Is this thing an evil spirit or a zombie, to have such a powerful body!"

"Die!"

Enraged by the attack, the creature yanked the Long Halberd towards itself, claws swinging towards Ge Changzhuang's face.

Ge Changzhuang punched the center of the ghostly claw, then twisted his body like a whirlwind to dodge the sharp nails, reclaiming the Long Halberd and infusing it with True Essence.

The Long Halberd lit up.

Sizzle.

A large surge of electric serpents exploded forth, causing the creature to scream in pain and withdraw, allowing the Thunder Shock Hammer a momentary respite.

But just then, a black chain with electric sparks flew to block his path, transforming into a nimble black snake, wrapping tightly around him as Thunder Power erupted.

The creature plummeted from the air, Ge Changzhuang shouted, gripping the Long Halberd with both hands and thrusting it down, piercing the creature's chest and pinning it to the ground successfully.

The latter let out a wretched scream, waving its hands, but they could only grasp at thin air, falling short of reaching Ge Changzhuang.

Ge Changzhuang firmly pressed down on the Long Halberd, yelling: "Quickly smash this ghostly thing."

"On it."

Yun Conghui activated the Thunder Shock Hammer once more, enlarging it and smashing it hard on the creature's head in a flash of lightning. With a loud boom, the ground sank, flora were shattered, and cracks appeared on the creature's head.

"This thing's physical body is ridiculously tough!"

Yun Conghui was astonished; the hammer blow weighed at least ten thousand pounds, coupled with Thunder Power against evils, yet it didn't manage to crush the monster's head.

"Roar!"

The creature's eyes turned red, muscles and bones swelling explosively, its strength increasing several fold instantly.

Ge Changzhuang couldn't hold it down, getting flung away with a boom, while Yun Conghui's Magical Artifact was also shaken off.

A shadow flashed, and Yun Conghui flew backward, his Defense Talisman shattering instantly, the force making him cough blood as he hastily activated a new Defense Talisman. Meanwhile, a White Jade piece at his waist glowed, blocking the pursuing claws.

Ge Changzhuang fell rather clumsily several yards away, his arm holding the Long Halberd shining brightly but trembling; clearly he had taken quite a hit from the previous clash.

He stared at the body's unbled puncture wound, the expanding cracks on its head and chest, a typical monster disregarding its body's endurance and exploding: "Is this thing crazed, bursting with such power!"

"You all must die!"

The creature's killing intent surged as it pursued the relatively weaker Yun Conghui but was intercepted by Ge Changzhuang, though this time he was on the losing side.

Watching from the side, Shen Wang frowned: "What's going on, how's this creature's body impervious to Thunder Power? Yet it feared my two Fireball Talismans back then?"

Remembering the previous encounter, Shen Wang frowned in thought: "Could it be that this creature has been rapidly growing and wasn't as formidable back then."

Considering this possibility, Shen Wang's heart tightened: "We can't let this creature continue to grow."

Seeing Yun Conghui and Ge Changzhuang retreat despite their joint efforts, he pondered whether to seize the opportunity to intervene.

However, both sides were his enemies, and it didn't seem suitable to eliminate either side at this moment.

If the creature was killed, there would be no one left to deal with the Yun Family's people.

If Yun Conghui and his companions were killed, he'd immediately provoke the Yun Family, inviting even more formidable adversaries.

The best outcome would be to watch them battle it out as the fisherman profits.

No need for the fisherman's profit, as long as more time can be drawn out to hold on until Foundation Establishment, that would be best.
