Chapter 365 The Greed for Life Essence in the Sea of Bitterness_2
"Gale Nine Swords!"
Gu Sheng shouted in a low voice, and the Mystical Sky Sword in his hand transformed into nine streams of sword light, resembling nine silver dragons roaring as they charged at the man in black.
The man in black's face changed drastically; he hadn't expected Gu Sheng's strength to be so overwhelming. He hurriedly tried to dodge, but it was already too late. The nine streams of sword light pierced through his body instantly, pinning him to the ground.
"You… who are you really?" the man in black struggled to ask.
"Hmph, you're not worthy of knowing my name," Gu Sheng said coldly as he stepped forward and pocketed the "Source."
Gu Sheng had won this battle cleanly and decisively. He understood that this "Source" would bring immense benefits to his cultivation. He felt the Life Essence contained within the "Source" and his heart brimmed with anticipation.
Returning to the small town, Gu Sheng carefully placed the "Source" in its intended spot. Looking at this crystal-clear treasure, an overwhelming sense of emotion surged in his heart. He knew this was a key turning point on his path to cultivation.
In the days that followed, Gu Sheng began a session of closed-door cultivation. He consumed the Life Essence within the "Source," feeling the golden waves within his Bitter Sea churn endlessly. His Ancient Sacred Body grew increasingly powerful under the nourishment of the Life Essence.
A month later, Gu Sheng emerged from his cultivation. A strong aura radiated from him, like a golden War God descending to the mortal world. He knew he had become stronger, and all of this was for the sake of protecting those he held dear.
"The Li family, your end has arrived," Gu Sheng murmured, a glint of cold light flashing in his eyes. He understood that the upcoming battle would determine the fate of the town, and he would prove everything with his strength!
When Gu Sheng walked out of his retreat, it was already deep into the night, but the small town remained brightly lit. He gazed at the familiar faces, a wave of warmth rising in his heart. Here, he had found a sense of home, as well as a goal worth fighting for.
"Big Brother!" Little Tingting saw Gu Sheng emerge and ran over excitedly. "You've finally finished your retreat! We were all so worried about you!"
Gu Sheng smiled and gently patted Tingting's head. "Don't worry, I'm fine," he said, shifting his gaze to Old Jiang. "Old Jiang, thank you for your hard work during these days."
"No trouble at all, no trouble at all," Old Jiang replied with a warm smile. "You're back, and that's all that matters. We're all looking forward to your next move!"
Gu Sheng nodded firmly, his resolve strengthening. "I won't let you down."
In the days that followed, Gu Sheng began preparations for his actions against the Li family. He knew that this battle was crucial for the future of the town, so he had to proceed with care.
He went to the blacksmith shop in town and began crafting specialized weapons and equipment. His techniques were skillful and precise, resembling those of a seasoned blacksmith.
"Big Brother, what are you making?" Little Tingting asked curiously.
"This is a secret weapon," Gu Sheng replied with a mysterious smile. "You'll find out when the time comes."
A few days later, when Gu Sheng stood in front of the Li family's mansion, his heart surged with determination and confidence. He knew this battle would change everything, and he would use his strength to forge a new legend!
Under the cover of night, Gu Sheng slipped into the Li family's mansion like a ghost. His movements were nimble and swift, creating no sound.
As he arrived at the Li family treasure vault, a glimmer of light sparkled in his eyes. He knew this was where the Li family kept all their wealth and power, and he intended to destroy it all!
Gu Sheng activated his Cultivation Technique, and his Ancient Sacred Body erupted with dazzling golden light. Like a golden War God, he charged into the vault, wielding the Mystical Sky Sword and unleashing earth-shattering sword light.
"Ah—"
The guards of the Li family were utterly unable to withstand Gu Sheng's attacks. One after another, they fell to the ground, screaming in agony.
Gu Sheng rampaged through the Li family's mansion like a tiger among sheep. Wherever his sword light passed, no one could stop him!
When the family head of the Li family saw this scene, his face turned pale as a sheet. "You… who are you really?" he stammered in fear.
"I am Gu Sheng," Gu Sheng said coldly. "Today marks the end of the Li family!"
With that, he swung the Mystical Sky Sword in his hand once more, and a golden sword light streaked toward the Li family's family head.
That night, the entire small town was shaken. They saw Gu Sheng's figure, like that of a War God, rampaging freely through the Li family mansion. They knew this battle would alter the town's fate!
This was merely a small branch of the Li family; the true Li family headquarters still loomed in the background.
For now, strengthening his power was the most pressing matter. Gu Sheng found a secluded location and began refining the Spirit Grass and Source he had recently obtained.
"Boom!"
With a thunderous roar inside his body, Gu Sheng's Bitter Sea finally expanded. The finger-sized space suddenly grew to the size of a pigeon's egg, containing nineteen divine patterns that shimmered with mysterious light. A powerful aura spread from him, seemingly engulfing the entire town.
Standing in the midst of the forest, Gu Sheng felt the raging power within him, and a satisfied smile played on his lips. He clenched his fists, golden light flowing across them like it held the power to destroy the heavens and earth.
"So this is the power of the Wheel Sea Secret Domain's Bitter Sea Realm?" he murmured to himself, his eyes glimmering with excitement.
Gu Sheng's figure darted quickly through the woods as he tested his newfound strength. Every punch, every kick carried an extraordinary force as if tearing through the air itself.
Not long after, he returned to the small town and walked into Old Jiang's little restaurant. Old Jiang and Little Tingting were busy preparing breakfast, but their faces lit up with joy when they saw Gu Sheng return.
"Gu Sheng, you're back! Come, have some breakfast!" Old Jiang called out warmly.
The three of them gathered at the table, enjoying a simple breakfast. As Gu Sheng ate, he also studied the Daoist Scripture in his hands. However, he soon noticed that the ancient characters on the pages began to blur.
"These ancient characters…" he muttered, his brows furrowing as a sense of unease welled up inside him. "I must memorize them quickly."
At that moment, the street outside the restaurant erupted in commotion. Gu Sheng looked up to see a yellow-faced middle-aged man—Manager Liu—leading a group of thugs in an imposing march toward them.
"Old Jiang, prepare wine and food for us right away!" Manager Liu shouted as he entered, his voice booming.
Old Jiang looked troubled. "Manager Liu, I'm terribly sorry, but this is just a small restaurant—we don't have wine..."
"No wine?" Manager Liu glared at Old Jiang and slammed the table. "Then why even keep this restaurant open? Hurry and make it!"
"But…" Old Jiang tried to explain but was shoved violently to the ground by Manager Liu. Little Tingting darted over to help her grandfather up but was roughly pushed aside by one of the thugs.
"What do you think you're doing?" Gu Sheng stood up suddenly, glaring at Manager Liu and his men with fury. "In broad daylight, how dare you oppress the townsfolk like this?"
Manager Liu glanced at Gu Sheng with disdain, smirking. "Well, if it isn't the small-town hero Gu Sheng? What now? Planning to meddle in this matter, too?"
"This isn't meddling!" Gu Sheng said coldly. "With your blatant oppression, how can I stand idly by?"
"Hahaha!" Manager Liu burst into laughter. "Do you think being a cultivator now gives you free rein? Let me tell you, this town isn't your playground!"
With a wave of his hand, he signaled his thugs to teach Gu Sheng a lesson. But Gu Sheng merely sneered coldly and slammed the table. "Want a fight? I'm all in!"
Even before his words had finished, his figure flashed as he appeared before one of the thugs. The thug hadn't even reacted when Gu Sheng's fist sent him flying. Then, like a tiger descending the mountain, Gu Sheng rampaged through the restaurant, knocking down Manager Liu's men one by one.
"You… how dare you!" Manager Liu backed away in terror, his previous bravado completely gone.
Gu Sheng glared at him coldly. "Manager Liu, you've bullied the townsfolk and committed countless crimes. Today marks your end!"
With that, he grabbed Manager Liu's collar and hoisted him up before flinging him out onto the street. Townsfolk gathered around, their whispers rising in waves.
