Living with the Arrogant Queen from High School is Surprisingly Not Uncomfortable

Chapter 84

I had gone through the page that Akari found and introduced to me.

The general flow of the speech that I understood from reading the article was…

First, introduce yourself. Then, compliment the other person by including an episode. Lastly, celebrate the couple’s departure. All this should be summarized succinctly in about three to five minutes.

The two of us, chatting over the computer, were having a great time.

Ignoring them, Akari and I were also racking our brains.

“As for the self-introduction and words to celebrate the departure, well, that’s fine. But the episode…”

Just because we knew the general flow, it didn’t mean that everything was going to be decided smoothly.

What kind of episode should we remember?

The episodes with Itchan…

…Things to remember…

Things like teaching me to study.

Things like helping me with love advice.

And then, Itchan’s feelings for Yamamoto, which I found out about recently.

“Meg, do you have any good episode in mind?”

“Things like teaching me to study, maybe?”

“With that, Itchan seems to be a bookworm.”

“Itchan didn’t really feel like a bookworm, though.”

Itchan scored high marks on every test, but if you were to say that she was a child who was always studying during class, during breaks, and after school, that wasn’t the case at all.

Rather, whether it was right before a test or not, if we invited her to play, she would definitely come. Maybe she was just good at taking tests.

“Should I talk about how Itchan is good at things?”

“Well… I’d like to see what kind of atmosphere that would create.”

Akari was smiling bitterly.

Even though I suggested it, I agreed with Akari.

In other words, I was a little interested, but I knew it wouldn’t work.

But if that’s the case… Surprisingly, episodes with Itchan don’t come to mind.

Our relationship spans my first and third year of school. Plus, we were in the class next to each other in our second year and we often did things together.

Despite having over two years of memories, why can’t I think of any good ideas?

“Did I not think of Itchan as a friend?”

I was tearing up.

I felt guilty for not being able to think of a good plan for Itchan’s speech, even though she had done so much for me. I felt guilty for not being able to bring back good memories.

“It can’t be helped. It’s your first time doing this.”

Akari kindly reasoned with me.

“But…”

“It’s okay. Meg, do you know why Itchan asked Meg for a speech?”

I nodded silently.

“You can’t help it, Meg.”

“…What?”

“It’s because she likes you.”

Akari gently stroked my head.

“That’s why Itchan asked Meg to give the representative speech of the friends.”

“…That’s not true.”

“Do you think Itchan asked for a speech because she wanted to make Meg cry?”

I don’t think everything Akari says is exactly what Itchan feels.

But there were parts that made sense.

Itchan probably didn’t ask me to make a speech because she wanted me to cry. I think that’s true.

I wiped away my tears.

At that moment, I noticed that the two noisy people on the other side of the computer were looking at me with surprised faces.

I realized that this might be the first time I’ve shown my crying face to these two.

“I’m sorry for showing you such an unsightly side.”

“Eh, no, it’s not like that, right?”

“Yeah. Actually, we’re sorry too. We haven’t been taking it seriously, just chatting.”

“No, it’s fine… But I’m sorry. I’d be happy if you could cooperate with me, I guess?”

“Of course!”

“Yeah, yeah!”

From then on, we seriously worked on creating the speech.
