Living with the Arrogant Queen from High School is Surprisingly Not Uncomfortable

Chapter 82

“Dinner is in the fridge. No long baths. Use the leftover bath water when you run the washing machine. Also, cleaning is limited to one hour a day!”

With that, I left the house.

The distance to Akari’s house is about two stations away from here. With the station intervals in the countryside, it would take over an hour to walk. However, in the city, it’s roughly thirty minutes.

I decided to walk to Akari’s house, probably because the pleasant weather at the onset of autumn was quite inviting.

Fortunately, I had plenty of time.

“Good morning.”

“Megu!”

“Gya!”

Upon arriving at Akari’s house, I was greeted roughly by the owner of the house.

My body ached a little from Akari’s hug.

“Hey Akari, don’t surprise me like that all of a sudden.”

“What? Can anything even surprise us given our relationship?”

“Just now.”

“Why? I’ve been sitting here waiting for you twenty minutes before you arrived, Megu.”

“A loyal dog?”

We graduated high school, moved to Tokyo, drifted apart, and only recently started hanging out again.

Somehow, I feel that Akari’s physical affection has increased.

“Sorry, my legs went numb.”

“Are you stupid?”

Reluctantly, I princess-carried Akari to the living room.

Speaking of Akari, she was slender during high school, but it seems her style has improved even more.

I felt irritated and tossed Akari onto the bed.

After being tossed, Akari looked bewildered.

“Eh? Eh, eh?”

While Akari was flustered, I looked around her room that I hadn’t seen in a long time.

…Oh no, I’ve become more persistent recently because of the man I’m living with.

“Akari, are you cleaning your room properly?”

I swept the top of the TV with my finger. A light layer of dust stuck to my finger.

“Eh, I do it regularly.”

“I see.”

“…Megu?”

“Akari.”

“Hya, yes!”

“In this room, Yamamoto should absolutely never enter, okay?”

I probably believe in Akari’s words.

However, if this room is shown to Yamamoto, it will probably fail. Yamamoto Ai is really naggy and insidious like a sister-in-law. The only thing better than a sister-in-law is that you won’t hear it from him, he’ll just start cleaning on his own.

“Got it. If Megu says so.”

Akari nodded with serious eyes.

…Did I just break the flag between Yamamoto and Akari in a place he doesn’t know about?

Feeling a bit guilty, I noticed the girl sitting on the bed grinning at me.

“What?”

“Megu, when did you become so possessive?”

“That’s not what I meant!”

A misunderstanding had been born.

No, the fact that I’ve become possessive is not a misunderstanding.

But, the previous point was truly a misunderstanding.

Of course, no matter how much I said so, Akari wouldn’t believe my words.

She just kept grinning, saying things like, “Is that so?” and “Yeah, I understand.”

When I pinched her cheek in irritation, Akari was somehow laughing happily.

Come to think of it, I used to frolic with Akari like this back in high school. Akari might have been happy, remembering the old times like me.

“…There’s still a bit of time until the call with those two.”

Akari said, looking at the clock on the wall.

“Let’s chat a bit more. Megu.”

“Yeah.”

Until it was time, we smiled at each other like we used to.
