Living Doll of MHA

Chapter 36: Safe Room

The safe room had been prepared in case of emergencies and Butch mainly used it for himself if there was ever an overwhelming attack that needed to be waited out.

If he could wait out an attack then there would be enough time for backup to arrive.

It was the same when it came to protecting anything or anyone that was not too suitable for combat.

They would be used as hostage causing them to be a liability to him so they needed a way to be protected.

Tiffany had already entered the safe room the moment that she began the operation.

It was never guaranteed that she would be safe where she was being kept.

There was some backup nearby to protect her but it was unknown if they could completely do their job when it was required of them.

There was the additional fact that Tiffany did not know all of them well enough to let them protect her.

When she witnessed the gangster boss being stabbed in the back by his comrade, Tiffany felt like her decision was the correct one.

In a situation where danger was involved to her, Tiffany could not be certain that they would be trustworthy enough to be able to protect her life.

The chances of betrayal and backstabbing were within the realm of possibilities.

It was something that she felt that would be more possible with what she had witnessed.

Her body was lying down in the safe room with nobody else around and a doll had been left around to look into what was happening outside.

Puck was protecting the outside of the door so that provided an extra layer of protection for her and the doll allowed her to check in on what was taking place there.

If Puck was facing some form of danger and there was any betrayal from within the building then Tiffany would be able to know the moment she switched her vision towards one of the dolls indoors.

It could be quite annoying to have to constantly switch her consciousness each time she needed to look into one location since it would take her attention away from another place.

If she had many eyes and ears under her control in one area then it made it slightly easier but not when the locations were so spread out.

If the various parts were not within a certain range then they would continue to be inanimate until she used her consciousness to enter it or entered one nearby and controlled it.

While she could use such a method to see from many perspectives within her available range, it was the kind of method that when used, would cause her information being gathered to become chaotic and jumbled up.

Seeing and hearing from so many perspectives was enough to overload and burden anyone so it needed to be limited in many ways whether it was just limiting it to one sense.

If the brain cannot sort through and process all of the information, it could come with a wide variety of negative effects like having difficulty focusing or having a higher level of sensitivity to the constant supply of overwhelming sensory input.

The only option available to allow such a thing to avoid happening or to stop it would be to block all of it out to let her regain clarity or to lessen the amount of input she would gain.

That included cutting off whatever was not needed and focusing the senses she did have the full range of within one body.

If there was a limit to her Quirk like others then it was heavily related to her mental capacity.

While she had developed her mental capacity through constant training and usage of her Quirk, there was still a lot that would cause her to be pushed too far.

Tiffany continued to move her dolls into several strategically placed locations as she used the sounds they picked up to let her know if someone was nearby.

Her consciousness jumped into that doll as she saw people walking nearby.

Butch seemed to be handling himself quite well due to his experience in combat.

It could be said that he made a natural hunter in the kind of environment that allowed him to hunt more efficiently as he hid himself and tracked the movements of his enemy.

Tiffany trusted that he would watch his back after the warning she gave him but she still kept a doll close to him just in case.

Whether she would be able to make it in time if something did happen was another story so she had to trust in him being able to overcome the threat like he always did.

The group remained vigilant of their surroundings as they were on the lookout for any of those they intended to hunt down.

"Why is this so difficult?"

"Yes... this is not how we were told this was going to go."

"I hope they get a move on already."

"Yes... me too."

"How is the progress with the other group? Are they facing the same thing?"

"No, I just got word that they were successful with there being few casualties."

"It seems like they got the easy job."

They seemed quite disgruntled about their situation and how they seemed to have been given the most difficult task.
