Live-in Son-in-law

Chapter 750: Won

Qin Yi was already standing on the ninety-sixth step, only four steps away from obtaining the silver pen.

However, for Qin Yi at the moment, these four steps were like a chasm, challenging to cross.

The heavy pressure Qin Yi was enduring now could crush any Nascent Soul Realm expert into pulp.

However, Qin Yi was now teetering, making onlookers' hearts clench in concern.

Mo Wuji was right; Qin Yi was someone who would never give up until he achieved his goal.

Having reached the ninety-sixth step, giving up was definitely out of the question.

He lifted his foot with difficulty, his entire body trembling violently, and with a thud, he struggled onto the ninety-seventh step.

"Boom!"

As Qin Yi stepped onto the ninety-seventh step, his upper garment was torn to shreds by the pressure, revealing his strong physique.

Qin Yi's body did not have the bulky muscles of a gym enthusiast but was well-proportioned, like a perfectly streamlined supercar, full of aesthetic appeal and explosive power.

Sweat poured down like rain, large beads of sweat forming streams flowing down his skin.

Qin Yi's face twisted, his teeth clattered as he roared, trembling as he lifted his foot toward the ninety-eighth step.

"Boom!"

The Divine Mountain and Golden Ladder trembled beneath his step.

Qin Yi stepped onto the ninety-eighth step.

However, a terrifying scene unfolded; Qin Yi's skin cracked open with countless wounds, blood flowing freely.

"Brother Qin, give up, come down quickly," Mo Wuji shouted anxiously.

These were wounds forcefully torn open by irresistible gravitational pressure.

Qin Yi's body swayed, enormous pain swept through his body, bones creaked as if they were about to be crushed under the pressure, vision darkening, mind blank, his consciousness hazy.

"Ah..."

Qin Yi roared, driven purely by instinct, trying to summon his cultivation to fight against the pressure.

As he circulated his energy, the wounds on his body began to heal, but just as the bleeding stopped, the wounds burst open again, blood flowing freely, staining Qin Yi as a bloodied figure.

"Brother Qin, come down quickly, you will die," Mo Wuji shouted urgently.

"Qin Yi, come down immediately, do you want to die?" Bai Jingqing also shouted.

Everyone was worried for Qin Yi.

"Awoo~"

The little creature also sensed Qin Yi's danger, letting out a cry and charging towards the Golden Ladder.

Mo Wuji and Bai Jingqing tried to stop it but failed.

But before the little creature could step onto the stairs, it was blown away by the golden light that suddenly appeared on the Golden Ladder.

The little creature rolled across the ground a few times, then awooing as it rushed forward again.

"Boom!"

The little creature was blasted away by the golden light on the Golden Ladder once more.

Mo Wuji said, "It seems this Golden Ladder can only be climbed by humans; other creatures can't get near at all."

The little creature was stubborn, repeatedly charging towards the Golden Ladder and repeatedly being blasted away.

"What exactly is this little creature? It seems extraordinary. The force on this Golden Ladder made me cough blood, but this little creature has been blown away so many times without harm," Wang Zheng exclaimed, shocked.

Mo Wuji shook his head, "We don't know either; this little creature has always been following Brother Qin. He said it was a Bai Ze cub, then a Qilin cub. Perhaps even Brother Qin himself doesn't know what it is?"

"Little one, you can't get up there, don't try anymore," Bai Jingqing said, walking over to pick up the little creature.

"Be careful, its bite force is terrifying," Mo Wuji reminded urgently.

The first time we met, this little creature bit Mo Wuji's arm to the point of bleeding.

Sure enough, the little creature turned its head and bit towards Bai Jingqing's arm.

Bai Jingqing instinctively let go, and the little creature fell to the ground, rolled, and stood up but didn't charge towards the Golden Ladder again, knowing it couldn't get up. Instead, it cried anxiously.

"Little one, don't worry, your dad is really capable, he'll be fine," Mo Wuji said as if coaxing a child, as Qin Yi raised this little thing as his own child, always referring to himself as 'dad.'

"Boom!"

The Divine Mountain trembled.

Everyone instinctively looked up, dumbfounded.

Qin Yi was covered in blood but had stepped onto the ninety-ninth step.

"Qin Yi, keep going," Wang Zheng shouted.

"You can do it, you can do it, you can do it!"

The surrounding armored warriors shouted in unison, encouraging Qin Yi.

Mo Wuji and the others unconsciously clenched their fists, nervously watching Qin Yi.

Even the little creature quieted down, its gem-like eyes showing human-like concern as it stared at Qin Yi.

Pain, immense pain.

Qin Yi felt he was about to be crushed into pulp, his bones creaking, struggling to support him, the pain like a tidal wave engulfing his entire body.

Under this terrifying pressure, his consciousness seemed unclear, vision darkening.

Qin Yi bit down hard on his tongue, the metallic taste spreading in his mouth, and the pain cleared his mind slightly.

"Boom!"

Qin Yi roared, rushing onto the one-hundredth step while he was still conscious.

The silver pen was within reach.

But Qin Yi spat blood uncontrollably, the pressure pressing him against the ground, and his body once again erupted into countless wounds, like a porcelain with cracks, ready to shatter at any moment.

Yet, Qin Yi wore a grim smile, he had won, he had reached the top.

He stretched out his hand with difficulty to claim his prize.

However, a terrifying scene reappeared; the golden characters beside the silver pen began to dissipate, turning into a golden stream.

Everyone broke out in a cold sweat for Qin Yi.

Previously, the golden stream beside the Shocking Dragon Sword had turned into Sword Qi, this golden stream might turn into Sword Qi too.

Qin Yi had been able to resist when retrieving the Shocking Dragon Sword, but now he had no strength left to resist.

Just as everyone was deeply worried, the golden stream did not turn into Sword Qi but grew increasingly brilliant. The dense golden light completely enveloped Qin Yi.

Qin Yi was enveloped by the golden light, his figure completely obscured from view, leaving those below helpless, unable to see what was happening within the golden glow, nor able to climb up themselves.

...

...

The golden light was blinding. Qin Yi instinctively closed his eyes, and by the time he reopened them, he was stunned.

"Where is this place?"

The sky was blue, the breeze gentle, the birds sang, and the flowers were fragrant, a babbling brook… it was like a paradise.

Qin Yi found himself lying on a patch of green grass.

He sat up abruptly, finding himself naked from the waist up, covered in blood, and littered with countless wounds, some still oozing blood.

Had he entered another Illusion Array?

He plucked a small wildflower at random, seeing the sap oozing from the break, suddenly speechless. It was a real flower, not a fake one.

What kind of place was this, actually?

Qin Yi shook his head. Ever since entering this barrier, he had encountered all sorts of bizarre occurrences, unable to distinguish dream from reality. He even doubted that he was asleep at home and entering the barrier was just a dream.

He had better start healing.

Qin Yi sat cross-legged and began to circulate his energy for healing, the Purple Light moving around, rapidly healing the wounds on his body.

"Old Qin?"

Suddenly, someone called him from afar.

Qin Yi was bewildered; the voice was unfamiliar. Who on earth was calling him?

Before Qin Yi could respond, another voice rang out, "Concede, and obediently wash my socks."
