Chapter 701 Immortal Mountain
This mountain, shrouded in immortal mist, resembles a magical mountain that has descended from the heavens. The fact that it can hover mid-air is strange in itself.
Rumble...!
Thunder continuously surged from the mountain, striking the ground.
Suddenly, an eerie scene unfolded. The lightning from the mountain stopped striking the earth and instead gathered in the air, forming a gigantic Thunder Ball.
The Thunder Ball, like an inflatable balloon, expanded continuously until it became the size of a hot air balloon, then crashed toward the ground.
Qin Yi's hair stood on end, chilled to the bone as he smelled the scent of death.
Swish!
Qin Yi turned and ran; the power that the Thunder Ball contained was unfathomable. Once it hit the ground, the force would be unimaginable.
With Fire Wings flapping intensely, Qin Yi shot across the sky like a beam of light, pushing his speed to the limit.
Boom!
The Thunder Ball hit the ground, causing the ground for a thousand miles around to tremble, as if the heavens were collapsing.
Qin Yi glanced back, nearly scared out of his wits.
The Thunder Ball exploded in the dense forest, akin to a nuclear bomb, with terrifying storms and shockwaves spreading madly in all directions, destroying everything in their path, swallowed by the storm.
Qin Yi fled frantically.
The shockwave and storm from the Thunder Ball seemed intent on devouring the entire chasm, spreading at an alarming speed.
Ancient trees, mountains, massive rocks—whatever was caught in the shockwave was instantly pulverized.
Qin Yi sprinted for over ten minutes and only looked back when the noise behind him ceased. He was stunned, his mouth agape.
The shockwave and storm from the Thunder Ball had vanished, but the area within several hundred miles was completely obliterated. The mountains, rivers, ancient trees, giant rocks, fierce birds, and beasts were all gone, leaving only a charred plain, the ground cracked as if suffering decades of drought.
Qin Yi was terrified; indeed, curiosity killed the cat. The supposed treasure was not found, and if not for his fast escape, he would have died here.
He looked up but found that the hovering magical mountain had disappeared, as if it had never been there.
This world was too frightful, bizarre, and fraught with danger.
How do the residents here even survive?
Qin Yi descended from the sky, set the little creature in his arms on the ground, and said, "You are safe now, hurry and escape."
However, the little creature circled his legs, its little tail wagging like a puppy, continuously letting out whining sounds toward him.
"Go on, I have many things to do; staying with me is very dangerous."
"Awoo~" The little thing looked at Qin Yi with wide, gemstone-like eyes.
"Seems you don't understand me." Qin Yi waved his hand, trying to shoo it away.
To his surprise, the little creature pounced and started sucking on his finger.
Qin Yi: "..."
"Are you hungry?"
The little creature released Qin Yi's finger without much force and let out whimpering sounds.
Qin Yi murmured, "Alright, I'm about to become a father, so let me practice with you first."
He looked around, then picked some fresh tender grass and brought it over, "Here, eat."
The little creature sniffed it, then disdainfully turned its head away.
"You're not thinking of drinking milk, are you? That's really difficult for me." Qin Yi chuckled bitterly.
After some thought, Qin Yi picked up the little creature with one hand, then squeezed the juice out of the grass into its mouth, coaxing like a child, "Eat, it's delicious."
"Ptooey..."
To Qin Yi's surprise, the little creature spat it all out, in a very human-like manner, spraying it all over Qin Yi's face.
Qin Yi unwittingly licked his lips, tasting the grass juice, and immediately grimaced; it was so bitter, even more so than bitter gourd.
"Ptooey... Ptooey..."
"Ptooey... Ptooey..."
Qin Yi and the little creature both stuck out their tongues, spitting out the bitter taste.
"They say grass juice is sweet; what kind of terrible grass is this?" Qin Yi lamented.
The little creature seemed extremely hungry, continuously making whining noises.
As Qin Yi pondered, he saw the little creature suddenly dash behind him and bite into the air.
"Ow..." The sound was a painful howl from the Blood Flood Dragon.
Qin Yi spun around and saw the Flood Dragon Spear jumping erratically, with the little creature hanging onto it.
"Master, hurry and get it off me; it hurts," the Blood Flood Dragon wailed.
Qin Yi's eyes sparkled; the Blood Flood Dragon was in an invisible state, and no one had ever seen it before. How did this little creature accurately bite onto the spear of the Flood Dragon Spear?
"Master, I'm about to be bitten through, save me," the Blood Flood Dragon cried out.
Qin Yi couldn't help but laugh, "You're exaggerating; it's so small, its bite doesn't even hurt; it bit my finger earlier."
"Master, really, I'm about to be bitten through; there's something strange about this little thing."
Qin Yi was momentarily stunned. Hearing the Blood Flood Dragon's sincere plea, he stepped forward to hold the little creature and tried to pull it off, but it clenched tightly, not letting go.
"Little guy, let go, or I'll get angry."
To his surprise, Qin Yi's words worked, and the little creature released its bite, looking at Qin Yi with grievance and whining.
Qin Yi looked at the Flood Dragon Spear and was astonished to find distinct bite marks where the little creature had bitten.
"It hurt so much..." the Blood Flood Dragon cried.
"Were you visible just now?" Qin Yi asked.
"Master, I was invisible, and this little thing came and accurately bit me."
Qin Yi narrowed his eyes, holding the little creature up carefully, "What kind are you? How could you detect the Blood Flood Dragon's presence?"
Unfortunately, the only reply he got was its whining sounds.
"It seems you're quite special, little one; I underestimated you."
"Master, no one can find me when I'm invisible; there's something odd about this little thing."
Interested, Qin Yi grabbed the fur on the back of the little creature's neck and lifted it, "Speak, what species are you? Or I'll roast and eat you."
"Awoo~"
"Forget it; I'm foolish to think you could understand me."
Qin Yi set it down, and then took out a piece of bread from the Storage Ring. He had kept some after giving the Village Chief some last time.
He broke a little piece of bread and offered it to the little creature.
The little creature sniffed it, then disdainfully turned its head.
"You won't even eat bread; you're too picky."
Qin Yi took out chocolate biscuits, took a bite himself, then handed it to the little creature, "Eat, it's tasty."
But the little creature disdainfully turned its head again.
Oh right, he also had milk with him.
Qin Yi opened a box of milk, tore it open, and offered it to its mouth. The little creature sniffed it and then licked it with its tiny pink tongue like a puppy drinking water.
"Now I'm sure, you're just a little dog." Biting things, licking to drink—these are all dog traits.
Qin Yi picked it up again, observing it, "Could you be a wolf? Did you smell the Qi on the Blood Flood Dragon to find it?"
The little creature struggled unhappily, whining to express its displeasure at being lifted.
Qin Yi set it down, and it contentedly resumed drinking the milk.
