Little Devil Princess My Sisters Are Seriously Trying to Marry Me When They Grow Up

Chapter 10: A Desperate Situation

A loud clanging of metal echoed throughout the forest.

Simultaneously, the demon guards dashed off with Arissa and Esmeralda in their arms, quickly disappearing into the forest, despite Ryushi’s desperately reaching hand.

“They’ve escaped!” shouted one of Genos’ companions, bow and arrow in hand, ready to pursue.

“Stop!”

Surprisingly, Genos reprimanded the man.

As it was a direct order from the leader, the archer reluctantly obeyed.

“…You planned this from the start, didn’t you?”

“Yes, to maximize our chances of survival. It’s a natural conclusion.”

“Interesting. I thought you were just a child, but you’re quite astute. I intended no mercy, child or not, but I respect your courage and resourcefulness. I’ll honorably lay you to rest in a one-on-one battle.”

“Thank you. That’s a relief.”

“Everyone, do not interfere. This boy is mine to defeat,” said Genos, to which a woman replied, “Is that okay?”

The woman, with chestnut hair in three braids and glasses, held a wand, likely a mage.

“It’s fine. We’ve defeated many enemies, even monsters deemed impossible. Astaroth may have once spread terror, but she’s no match for us.”

“Don’t worry, you’ll fall to me right here!”

Ryushi launched himself at Genos, diving deep into his reach like a gust of wind. Genos effortlessly parried Ryushi’s lightning-fast sword strikes. Despite the ferocious clanging, Genos had the upper hand.

“A remarkable sword indeed. If you were a grown adult, perhaps I would have fallen. But!!”

A sharp kick landed in Ryushi’s abdomen, throwing him off balance and causing him to focus solely on the sword. Genos, ruthless against demons, child or not, launched a relentless strike. A slash occurred. Ryushi was cut, but it was a shallow wound. A quick leap back barely saved him.

“You dodged well, but with that wound, you can’t move as sharply. Give up; you’ve done well for a child.”

“No, no. The real fight starts now.”

“Don’t worry. I’ll send Astaroth to join you soon. That girl with you, she’s Astaroth’s daughter, right? She might be useful as a warning to other demons. Perhaps we’ll sell her to a brothel. She can still be tamed.”

“What…?”

“You say some vile things considering your appearance.”

Ryushi didn’t want to kill needlessly, even as Astaroth’s son. Murder is a grave sin.

That vow crumbled with Genos’ words.

“Now I’ll kill you!”

Ryushi struck at Genos again.

“What!?”

Genos’ sword, and the arm wielding it, were violently repelled.

“I can die, but if my sisters… my precious stepsisters are in danger, that’s different! To speak so vilely of them!”

Ryushi’s swordplay was like a storm, growing sharper and heavier with every swing. His spirit steel sword, Argus, began to overpower Genos, turning Genos’ golden armor to mere paper. Genos was soon covered in red.

“Genos is being pushed back!” a bald man with an axe exclaimed, as his companions watched in stunned silence.

Genos, an A-class adventurer, found himself at a disadvantage against a mere child.

Ryushi’s sword left a mark on Genos’s cheek, blood trickling down.

“Damn brat!”

Their swords clashed repeatedly in a fierce duel, abruptly interrupted.

“Elto! Shoot that brat down!”

Startled, Elto, the archer, released an arrow. It pierced Ryushi’s shoulder.

“That arrow is coated in deadly poison. Even a graze and you’re done.”

But Ryushi didn’t stop. It was no longer a duel. At Genos’s command, his companions attacked Ryushi all at once.

One against five, a child against adults. Ryushi was outmatched in every way, covered in wounds and blood, but he didn’t stop.

“I’ll kill you for sure!”

With a flash, Ryushi’s full-bodied slash deeply cut through Genos’s shoulder, blood gushing out. Genos was close to death, but Ryushi, completely drained, collapsed forward.

“Crap… my body…”

Dizziness and nausea overwhelmed Ryushi.

Am I going to die here? Ryushi clenched his teeth, clinging to life, mocked by Genos.

“Hahaha, that’s all you’ve got. Even demons are nothing before us!”

“Don’t move. I’ll heal your wounds.”

“Bring his head to Astaroth. That’ll shake her up. You dared to mock me, let your face twist in despair.”

“You bastard…”

Ryushi grimaced in frustration as Genos’ scornful laughter rose.

The death cries followed shortly after.
