Chapter 3: Lilac Family(2)
In the novel, Arcide's backstory not immediately explained at the beginning of the story.
He is just a mere disposable character who died at the prologue, after all.
His very presence is just to add more meaning and significance to the protagonist's motivation.
But that's image of him as mere disposable character shade him just untill the story reach the more advanced stage.
When the story began to explore him more and more, how complex Arcide Lilac as a character is began to revealed.
Arcide and Rilana's childhood times, particularly, is the most favorited and cherished arc among all within the readers.
This is showed how grand the emotions impact at this arc.
All characters at this arc seems to broke the barrier of words, became real peoples, and started to show you how their's life and emotion bloom beyond words and sentences world.
As an author, Risa is undeniably successful at this very arc.
Even I can't ignore how good this arc while writing the foolish review to her novel and gave it some extent of compliment.
From the series of event before Rilana awaken her magic talent to how this sibling's relationship began to became an distant relationship.
All the way of arc is filled full of grand emotions.
However...
... It's terrifying when you experienced it right handed!
"UWAAAHHH!"
Rilana crying because I, or rather, Arcide, keep avoiding her since that day.
It's a fool action, again, I know.
But I can't control it at this case.
After all, when I awaked at this body of Arcide Lilac, I am already atop the tree with Rilana keep calling me from below.
Seeing her, I starting to covered with cold sweat.
It's bad, her going to activing her...
I can't even end my thought before a huge wave burst from her.
"BROTHERRR~!"
This overwhelming wave blown everything around her—dirt, stone, tree... And of course, me, too.
My very body twisting at the air along with dirt and stone.
My vision blurred when I seeing the mansion roof draw near with every second.
And, at the next moment, I can feel I crushed at something hard and cold—the serrated, red-colored clay roofs of Mansion.

At that day, Rilana certain that she feel it.
The Despair.
And the Death.
In front of these specter she desperately try to against, she 'see' it.
Power.
Something new and powerful in her very world.
It is new, but felt familiar.
As if it is something that always within her.
She always have it.
And at that very moment, when she confront these specter, the Medusa, and the dying brother of her, she destroy the boundary between her and 'it'.
Her mana that until now hardly controlled by her began to rapidly circulated, drawing 'something' powerful within her body.
Right after this 'something' fully manifested, she felt that she know about this 'something'.
This is her own Magical quirk—an Magilac.
And she also already named it right at that very moment.
It is [Exploia].
With Exploia, she blown away Medusa, taken her brother back, and escape.
At that moment, she certain that she felt sense of accomplishment.
She saved her brother!
How can she not happy after that great success?
Before, it is her brother that always help, save, and guide her.
Although it is just a drop than the abundant amount of her brother's kindness that he always showering her, she can't help but feel happy.
After all, she saved her brother!
Again, she saved her brother!
She saved the very him!
However, because of that incident, her brother lost his overwhelming talent.
He lost the magic that he very proud about.
It's so sadden and tragic, but she never change how she see her brother—He is her light, and will forever be her light.
However, the truth is different than what she imagined.
Her brother starting to avoiding her deliberately.
At first he just busy, and while they rarely have time together as before, they still sometimes play along together.
However, as time goes by, her brother began to ignoring her entirely.
He stop either smiling at her or said good morning for her.
It was as if her very presence is fully vanished is his world.
"Brother, good morning!"
"..."
"Have a good day~"
"..."
"Brother, I love you!"
"..."
However she trying to greet and say, he's not reacting at all.
He kept the dead silent, a book at his hand, while atop the tree.
She don't want it.
She dislike this brother.
She love her previous brother.
She want her lovely borther back.
Why are you always at that tree? Are you love tree so much, brother?
"BROTHERRR!!!"
That scream at that day is her attempt to call her kind, caretaker brother that always shower her with pure affection and care.
She want her light back.
She don't want... To hate her brother.

"Hmm, your several bones is broken... Well, it's okay, son. With some healing magic, this level of wound wouldn't even leave a scar."
"O-okay..."
I already knew it from the novel but... Risa, why the fuck are you make a father character like this? Several bones broken, and he said it's okay? OKAY? Don't you see how fucking painful it's for me, the victim?
I hold my curse to this father of Arcide while desperately enduring the pain that attack me time to time from the wound and broken bones of mine.
Covered entirely with bandage, I lied down at the bed of my... Arcide's room.
I ignore this man who showering me with greenish light of healing magic while I drowned deep my mind, trying to ingesting what, why, and how I can possibly ended here.
Arcide Lilac and Rilana Lilac... I certain after fully aware of the bunch of memory that supposed to be Arcide's memory and see Rilana in person and take her magic right handedly.
I am reincarnated, or rather, transmigrated in this novel of Risa.
[Lilac's Purity.]
Ridiculous.
I want to wake up and find that it is just mere dream or nightmare, but...
"Fiuh..."
... This pain is felt too real to be just dream.
I have to admit it.
I transmigrated.
Okay.
But.
It's not remove all my questions.
Why?
Why am I even transmigrated?
And why it's should be here, in this very novel of Risa, an innocent girl that I blindedly throw away my resentment and remorse?
I can't find any valid reason that can trigger this abnormal circumstances.
My last memory is when I falls sleep after send my... Review.
-Sigh.
How fool.
Come to think about it again, maybe that's the reason why this is happening.
Well, I don't sure.
No one can tell me what's actually happen, after all.
-Sigh, once more.
Seeing me keep sighing, my father rise his brow.
"What's wrong?" He asked.
I can only smile faintly at him as response.
"Well... Nothing. Nevermind, father. I am just tired."
He looked at me with pity for my words.
He let out a heavy sigh before looked at me, again, with surious expression.
"Lana is still young, Arcide. Don't throw your grudge at her. In fact, she is not wrong at all in the every way possible. Rather, she is your savior. With her little body, she forced herself to confront that monster. Can't you see how hard it for her?"
My Father, Thiandore Lilac, patted my head with soft smile.
"I know you lost your excellent talent because of that incident and that's surely is very important to you. You is the main victim, I understand. But Lana is no different," Father pat my shoulder, "She is also a victim."
"That incident forlorn your future. It's must be and will be hard. But that's you the one who chose to go at that day—It is your fault, your very mistake. It's sad, surely. But don't let it take the better of you. Just take it as a precious lesson so you will not do anything recklessly anymore."
While he keep talking, my injuries is already almost fully recovered with his healing magic.
"You are my son, you are a prodigy, genius of our county—our pride. Don't worry, you have talent. Even if it's not through magic, I believe you would reach the top."
"..."
... What is this? What is this heavy feeling that oppressing my chest? Why am I feel so vulnerable?
Without me even realizing it, my vision began to blur and wet.
The heavy is different, different from what I felt back then while they judge me. The heavy is overwhelming, yes, but it's feel more warm, more comfortable...
"Yes, Father... Thank you... So much."
In the end, I can't fully understand what I felt and can only expressing my gratitude to him.
While crying.
