Chapter 377: The Mutation Woman's BUG-Level Ability Part 2
The theory was quite sound.
Looking at it now, the kind gestures were false; harvesting was the true intent.
There must be a serious issue with that blood!
...
Susan didn't think as deeply as Brian.
She rubbed Shi San's chubby cheeks with some distress, unable to think of a way to stop the attacks coming from dreams, "So we can only watch helplessly as Shi San is attacked?"
Brian reassured her, "Of course not. Making a move will reveal her flaws, no matter what she is or what her purpose is. Since she dares to attack Shi San, there is only one outcome."
Saying this, he got up, retrieved a simple syringe from the room, drew a tube of filtered blood beads from his wrist vein, and handed the syringe to Susan, "I'm going out to find some help. You take care of Shi San. If you find that Shi San's vital signs are weakening, inject my blood into his mouth."
Susan took the syringe and nodded, "Okay, be careful."
Brian nodded, his figure shooting out of the balcony, rushing towards the direction of the sea.
He was actually quite unfamiliar with the realm of dreams.
Dreams and the Heart Domain were quite similar, but fundamentally different.
Like electricity, yet divided into lightning, high voltage, static, and so forth.
Brian could freely traverse the Spirit Realm but couldn't move as freely within the dreams of living creatures.
The only species he knew that had this ability was the Dream Clan, who lived in the ocean.
Coincidentally,
Brian had a Spiritual Imprint of an individual from the Dream Clan, called Blu.
This was equal to having the other's location.
With the location,
Brian could easily enter the Heart Domain Space where the other was located or accurately find the other's physical body in the Material Realm.
If it wasn't for Shi San's uniqueness, unable to enter the Heart Domain, it would have been much easier to handle.
Now, Brian had to make a special trip in reality.
Watching Brian transform into an afterimage and disappear into the sky, Susan's eyes showed worry as she turned her gaze back to Shi San.
"Right..."
As if she thought of something, Susan looked doubtfully towards the hallway outside the bedroom, then at the balcony.
Not seeing the figure she hoped to see,
Her ears twitched slightly, realizing she couldn't hear the sounds she wanted to hear, and she inexplicably felt uneasy.
Where was Meatball?
Meatball liked to wander around the skies of Los Angeles, a veritable street rover.
But it was closest to Shi San.
Under normal circumstances,
It was unlikely that Meatball would go out and stray about when it knew Shi San was unwell!
With this in mind, Susan hesitated no longer, took out her phone ready to call Meatball.
Meatball had a modified communication device on it, capable of receiving satellite communications.
Who knew...
Her finger had just touched the phone when an irresistible tide of sleepiness suddenly overwhelmed her.
The next moment,
Susan's body trembled slightly, and she forgot what she had been planning to do.
She looked at Shi San with a somewhat vacant gaze then, with even breaths, slowly closed her eyes, also falling into a deep sleep.
...
A gentle breeze on the balcony stirred the curtains.
A gorgeous figure materialized from the ethereal, finally taking the form of a casually dressed young Caucasian woman with blonde hair.
She walked over to a person and a dog with a cat-like tread, crouched down, and extended her palm stopping over Shi San's head.
Her palm paused.
The next moment,
She actually scratched Susan's body, then with a hint of envy commented, "What a sturdy and strong body..."
After a moment of envious scrutiny,
She turned her attention back to Shi San, pinching Shi San's dog face, "Shi San, long time no see..."
Sensing something in his deep sleep, Shi San's dog face eerily showed fear, and he whimpered and sobbed, translating to: "Bad woman, it's you again, don't come over, don't come over!"
Hearing this, the woman's fairly attractive face showed a saddened expression, "Shi San, when you were just a small thing, you loved to cuddle with me, now you actually call me a bad woman, you bad dog..."
Her expression abruptly became fierce, "You are most suitable to be my nourishment!"
The next moment,
Her palm caressing Shi San sprouted straw-like spines from her fingertips, which she viciously jabbed into Shi San's head.
Bulging liquid sacs, carried by those spines, flowed from Shi San's head into the palm of the woman.
Basking in the flow of warm currents,
The woman half-closed her eyes, reveling in contentment.
As the spines pierced the brain,
Shi San, lost in sleep, sensed an omen of doom. His eyelids violently twitched, desperate to open.
Alas,
Against the woman's manipulation, he was too weak, struggling for no more than three or four seconds before shrinking from a several hundred-pound fat dog into a thin shadow of his former self, then completely stopped struggling, his whole body turning into a skin and bones corpse...
...
Having devoured Shi San, the woman withdrew her palm, content.
After savoring for a moment, she turned her gaze back to the sleeping Susan, hesitation flickering in her eyes.
Parasite or consume?
Thinking of the powerful man named Brian,
Greed ultimately overtook the woman's mind.
Parasite it is.
High risk, high reward.
Besides, with her abilities, even if that Brian, whom she had lured away, noticed something was amiss, he wouldn't be able to find her true body's location, couldn't kill her.
Moreover, this sturdy body, whether it was in appearance, strength, or figure, completely outdid her current one.
Even without the presence of that Third Rank Life, it was a splendid body choice.
