Chapter 199: That Worked
Atlas and Kiko entered the local tavern. While the two sat at an empty table, she told him, ''Give it an hour so the guards can clean up the monster bodies.''
The older woman ordered some ale while she spoke to a group of adventurers who kept staring at him with greedy eyes. Atlas was going to confront them, but Nala's voice rang out, 'The woman is trying to trick you, Master. I believe she is a slaver.'
When hearing this, he scanned her using Void Sight.
[Grunhilda]
[Slaver]
[Level: 360]
[Rank: Master]
[She's deceiving you, boy! You've been led into a den of Slavers]
'I swear, even the stones beneath my feet are conspiring against me. Why can't I get a moment's peace,' he internally raged.
When Atlas realized what had happened, he noticed the wary glances everyone was casting his way. Grunhilda approached the table, and from her expression, it was clear she had tampered with his drink.
Instead of reacting, an idea formed in his mind as he carefully masked his suspicion, preparing to turn the situation to his advantage. The older woman sat down and gave him an off feeling as she spoke, ''Would you like to travel together? It's dangerous out there for elves.''
Atlas's eyes narrowed as he unsheathed Nightblade and replied with suspicion, ''Nice try, Slaver. You think I wouldn't find out what you're trying to do?''
Grunhilda's eyes widened in shock, but a wicked smile appeared while speaking, ''The empire was right about you, Dahaka. You're smart, but now you've fallen into our trap. You will come with us peacefully, or I'll hurt you.''
When Atlas heard her threat, he laughed before summoning his helmet while his azure eyes glowed. He shook his head, speaking smugly, ''I'm not trapped in here with you. You're trapped in here with me.''
Following that, he cast Void Wave, which sent the woman flying as the other men attacked. Atlas deflected and blocked many strikes before he summoned Nala alongside a group of Deathmaw Lions.
Chaos erupted in the tavern as the monsters tore into the Slavers. Atlas jumped on Nala's back before she pounced through the window and landed with a thud as the town guard surrounded them.
Atlas looked at the Nubians before spamming Void Bullets and Void Barrage, peppering the shocked soldiers. His sudden attack sounded explosions, sending the enemies flying, allowing them to sprint through the street.
Screeches rang out, causing Atlas to look up and notice giant flying monsters resembling vultures. They were about to swoop down on them as Nala climbed to the roofs of the surrounding buildings.
His eyes narrowed before casting Void Arrows that streaked through the air. The attackers dodged most of the spells, but some were struck, and the azure projectiles burrowed through the monster's body.
Half a dozen creatures plummeted to the town below and crashed into the buildings, causing Nala to speed up. Atlas sent mana into the Dungeon Monster's body, which allowed her to speed up.
As the enemies closed in, Atlas unleashed a barrage of Void Blasts, the powerful explosions sending them scattering in panic. The force of the blast nearly eradicated them, and he continued casting, keeping them at bay as his magic tore through their ranks.
'This should keep those fuckers off my back,' he thought with an excited grin, feeling the thrill of the fight course through him.
Soon enough, they reached the wall just as cannons pointed at them and fired. Atlas quickly cast Void Guard that blocked the sudden attack. The azure barrier shook but allowed them to pass by as more flying monsters swooped down.
This gave Atlas the perfect moment to scan the creatures pursuing him.

[Use Void Arrow to kill them]
A smirk crossed his face. 'This is going to be easy,' he thought as he began casting Void Arrows.
The projectiles ripped through the vultures' bodies, tearing them apart. Explosions erupted around him as the town's defenses started firing at him, but with Nala's speed, they managed to escape, leaving his pursuers in the dust.
Nala ran for hours until the sun started to set and the Dark Ones appeared, but the lioness tore them apart. Soon enough, she reached the fortress's clear valley but warned, 'Bandits may be around here, Master. I will find a safe place to rest.'
Following that, she found a hill that overlooked the surrounding landscape, which allowed Atlas to set up the protection Runes around his camp before putting up his tent as thunder boomed overhead.
'Thankfully I have this to hide from the weather,' he thought as Nala patrolled the area.
She disappeared into the shadows below, leaving Atlas alone. He pulled out the last box of Griffin meat and began eating, his mind half on the meal. Suddenly, distant howling echoed through the air.
Instantly alert, Atlas scanned his surroundings, but the thick darkness revealed nothing. His senses sharpened as unease crept in. Then, he activated the Void Realm, and his consciousness appeared on the Golem Plateau.
He started battling the monsters after casting Void Infusion on his swords before carving through them. Hours later, he was woken up by Nala licking his face while curled around him. Atlas smiled before stroking the lioness, who started purring in happiness as she spoke, 'I killed many monsters that prowled in the darkness.'
When Atlas heard this, he thanked her and got comfortable against the monster, who was happy to be his cushion. Shortly after, he pulled up the monster total for Level Three to see how many Void Golems he needed to kill.
[Void Golem – 43231/1000000]
[Void Warrior Golem – 210359/500000]
[Void Golem Commander – 90204/100000]
[Void Golem King – 1/1]
Then, Atlas fell asleep after being pleased with the result. Once he was out cold, Nala protected him from the roaming monsters, as they wouldn't go anywhere near her. He slept peacefully but was soon woke up to the ground trembling.
He opened his eyes and spotted a massive Titan passing, making his blood run cold. Atlas saw a giant Tyrannosaurus monster glancing at the landscape below before taking a bite every so often.
'What is this nightmare?'
While Atlas watched this, Nala said, 'It's a Grassland Hunter. They are the top predators in this part of the continent.'
'How do you know that?' he replied before sinking into her fur.
She looked at him and replied, 'We monsters can sense the strength of others, especially if they're Titans or above.'
Atlas nodded in understanding before looking up and admiring the two moons that lit up the world as a mist descended. He sighed as the landscape below was covered, causing a creepy atmosphere to overtake everything.
Without thinking, he summoned three Werewolves and ordered them to guard the camp before sleeping. The following morning, Atlas woke up feeling refreshed, but the mist blocked everything around him.
'Damn Silent Hill-looking place. This world will be the death of me.'
He stood up while stretching, and Nala stood up and spoke while glancing around, 'Master. There are monsters in the mist. They've killed hundreds of local creatures.'
Atlas nodded before putting everything away. Once everything was packed away, he jumped on the Lionesses back. The monster started sprinting Southeast while he checked his map and discovered he was a few months away from Carthage.
'We need to reach a city to get a train there,' he pondered while watching the river they were running alongside.
While doing this, Atlas quickly shouted, ''Nala! Move away from the water now!''
But it was too late, as an enormous crocodile lunged out and chomped down on the lioness's back. This brought her to a stop, causing him to fly off and crash into the water. He was dragged away as more monsters attacked him.
'Not this shit again! I swear Fate hates me or is enjoying the chaos of my life.'
Atlas was forced to cast Void Guard to defend against the bite, which allowed him to cast Void Lance. The azure projectile pierced through the crocodile's torso, causing it to explode into meat chunks.
Following that, he scanned the nearest monster fighting Nala. The lioness was going crazy and tore into the creature's body.
[River Drake]
[Rank: B - 800 Exp]
[Use explosive magic]
When seeing the advice, Atlas started casting magic into the incoming monsters. As the Void Bullets connected with the River Drakes, they exploded and tore through its thick hide, causing it to spasm before sinking to the bottom.
'That worked,' he thought with a smile while killing more monsters that got close.
Once the closest creatures were dead, he summoned Medusa, who appeared from the portal. Atlas grabbed her long body before she took off down the river as he dismissed Nala to rest.
The Death Serpent traveled miles to escape the monster horde bearing down on them. Once they were safe, she leaped out of the water, causing Atlas to land with a thud as he sent her back to the Dungeon Realm.
'Thank Luxia that I escaped from that horrifying place,' he thought before approaching a nearby road.
