Chapter 251: When fun turns to dangers
His breathing became erratic and his face constricted with pain yet he took one big breath full of air and held it. Continue reading at My Virtual Library Empire
He knew it was going to be tough to breathe from now on so holding it was the best idea.
While running, two of his stamina points were being added at once.
Lucas found it hard to run while his body was getting through such an uncomfortable phase yet he took it as training head on.
His speed increased out of adrenaline and when Sandra looked back out of curiosity, she had a small heart attack.
A man was at a speed she couldn't believe even existed, she felt that he was the fastest man and had already beaten all the world records back on earth.
Lucas was dodging big roots and trees with big jumps one after another, it was as if a demon had taken over and was in full dive mode.
One thing she couldn't get out of her brain was how Lucas had such a determined face in that moment.
As if nothing else mattered other than reaching her for him, her heart literally resounded in her forehead as she gulped while holding the undead's fur and skin even tighter.
She gave it the mental command to go even more speedy and it obliged, the soil behind its steps dug inside while its force on the ground increased.
Its speed had increased so much that Lucas could look at the distance increasing each second.
His determination fell, the two points had already been added and he was doing his best. One could say that he was at his peak speed.
His thighs were so pumped that it seemed like they were going to burst anytime now. The same with the muscle beside the shin bone.
Lucas looked at the system again with gritted teeth but he could only do so for a single second, one slight mistake and he was going to get plastered in a tree and break more bones than he would have liked.
He had 10 more points left to use yet they were for important situations, something that was not right now.
He hated losing, more than anything to be fair. His pride had just gone so high that it was tough to look at the ground now.
Lucas tried to increase his speed yet it was a failure yet all hope was still not lost.
The mark on his hand unleashed heat in his body, the darkness from his heart seeped out and Lucas panicked for a second yet something unusual happened.
The darkness went to the muscles that were too sore and in a second, it started healing them. Healing was an overstatement, the darkness was actually used as a nourishment on its own.
Lucas felt his body become warm. It was as if the mark was trying to help him with this internal fight of his.
The fight was about to whether quit now or not, his pride wasn't letting him.
Lucas's peak speed was still the same yet it became normal for him at this point, he felt fresh.
Lucas had no time to think of what had happened, a notification popped in front of him yet he just slapped it away mentally and put all his focus on the wolf that was so far.
"W-WHAT THE FUCK?!" Sandra this time couldn't help but curse.
So was the situation in front of her.
Lucas was so excited while looking at her, well, not her exactly but the whole silhouette of her and the fury in total.
Sandra couldn't believe this was happening yet one thing was clear, she was pushing Lucas to the limit and he was taking it as training.
'I will increase the speed again.' She thought and gave a mental command.
Yet in a second, she took back the command and told it to stop completely.
She didn't realize that it was going to stop at once dumbly and Sandra got flown forward, the lucky thing was her hand on the skin and the fur was firm and she didn't really go and smash on a tree.
"AAAHHH!" She screamed as her shoulder dislocated from the force.
Lucas was so fast that he made the distance between them close in a matter of seconds yet he decided to stop too as something definitely did not look right.
Only to find out that even had a problem to stop now.
"SANDRA! MOVEEE!!!" He screamed while not seeming to stop anytime soon.
"FUCK YOU!!" Sandra screamed too, she was in too much pain. Her voice was filled with anger and frustration.
Lucas had no choice but to jump over her and the fury. He jumped a little too high and fortunately, a big branch was right in his trajectory.
With relief, Lucas tightened the muscles of his whole hand and grabbed the branch with force.
BAMM!
Only to find out that it was just too much for the big branch. It broke on contact and Lucas's trajectory became slower, yet he was still going forward.
He looked down and saw the height he was at. A shiver ran down his spine.
'The fuck have I gotten myself in?!' He thought.
This was supposed to be a playful race which had turned quite dangerous.
He was at a height that was not by any means ordinary, it felt like something he wasn't able to do before.
A fleeting revelation came in his mind that lasted for a second, when was the last time did he push his body like this? When was the last time he placed some new free points around?
Making it collect was good, but not using it at all was also not good.
Lucas did not have a need for these points for a long time because leveling gave him one point each in every stat and the titles he gained had increased his stats more than the norm from what Bill had told him after some research.
Lucas's heart flickered in excitement again, there was fear of falling yet the drive to survive was also triggered after a long time.
It was either do or get so injured that it would almost be like dying.
