Chapter 57: Berserk
Liu Wei was stunned.
With blurry vision, he saw the sword, filled with cracks, pierced his heart.
Am I dying?
That was his last thought before he lost consciousness.
His knees dropped to the floor, alongside the sword that pierced him.
Liao Dong stopped grasping his sword and smiled.
He did not bother staring at Liu Wei anymore, having his eyes set on Liu Wei's sword.
He admired it even more.
It's still completely fine. As expected of a Treasure rank sword.
Liu Wei dropped to the floor sideways, away from his sword.
The Inferno Dragon Fang Sword released a wave of fire, seemingly attempting to call its owner, but the latter was already dead.
Completely so.
Liu Wei had stopped breathing, his blood circulation froze.
However, three breaths later, the remaining nourishment of the Vitality Recovery Pills, worth three pills with one of them at the five flames, suddenly spread tremendously inside his body.
It wrapped his heart, and, as though it was sentient, it removed the sharp sword from his heart.
Liao Dong was completely unaware that his sword fell to the floor, having been unattached from Liu Wei's body.
After all, he was now grasping the Inferno Dragon Fang Sword, attempting to tame it.
His hand was already being burned by the Inferno Dragon Fang Sword's resistance.
The Vitality Recovery Pills soon faded after repairing the tear on Liu Wei's heart.
However, he was already dead.
The Vitality Recovery Pills were not enough to bring Liu Wei's to life.
However, out of nowhere, a beat pulsed in Liu Wei's heart.
It came naturally.
Even so, compared to a natural beat, the heart beats appeared to release concentrated demonic qi.
The demonic heart now pounded like a war drum.
It was faint at first.
Until five breaths later, all the guards were able to hear it.
They simultaneously glanced at Liu Wei's lifeless body in horror.
Their eyes widened.
Zou He mumbled, "Is he not dead?"
Liao Dong, who was near Liu Wei, frowned and raised the Inferno Dragon Fang Sword, pointing its tip at Liu Wei.
The Inferno Dragon Fang Sword obviously tried to resist, engulfing Liao Dong's hand with its fire, but it was unable to completely burn it as Liao Dong protected it with earth qi.
In the end, despite its unwillingness, its own body pierced right through Liu Wei's head, directing through his brain.
Liao Dong snorted.
"He's just a zombie."
He then pulled the sword upward, staring intently at Liu Wei.
However, the latter's heartbeat continued to pound.
Then, under his watchful gaze, he saw the wound on Liu Wei's head repairing itself.
His heart skipped a beat.
His instinct was telling him something was definitely wrong.
Eventually, they watched Liu Wei stand up as they were completely frozen.
Liao Dong already proved that further killing him would be meaningless.
He was able to repair his wound, as his unusual heartbeat would continue to pound.
Liu Wei stood up and grabbed the Inferno Dragon Fang Sword out of Liao Dong's hand, shocking the latter.
He had just closed his primary meridians to return to his normal state.
Even then, he was not weakened.
Yet, Liu Wei seemed to have surpassed his speed before and his strength was unusually strong.
Liao Dong was now completely wary, he did not have his sword, so he knew he was weaker than before.
He watched Liu Wei's closed eyes intently, as the latter suddenly opened his eyes.
His heart skipped a beat.
Liu Wei's eyes were narrow, like those predatorial beasts, and it was bloody crimson.
Liu Wei also released Blood Qi from his body, on the level of his primary meridians' opening.
Liao Dong instantly opened all his primary meridians at once and backed away, extending his hand to his fellow guard, asking for a sword.
Fu Hong was nearer at him, so he threw his sword to his Captain and backed away.
At the moment, without his sword, he was now useless in the battle.
Grasping the sword, the Captain, at least, felt a little bit safe.
He gazed at Liu Wei, ready to react to his movements.
Liu Wei, who had just opened his eyes, was actually having a conversation with the consciousness of the Origin Demonheart Body inside his primary consciousness.
Hence, his body was currently staying still.
Of course, it would react by instinct once it perceived danger…
…
At the moment, the consciousness of the Origin Demonheart Body has now appeared in the form of the kid.
It was a boy.
Their second meeting was now in a different place.
They were standing at the vast expanse of a motionless blood ocean.
There were no skies, but simply an empty red horizon.
They were standing in front of each other.
Liu Wei frowned when he saw the kid.
Obviously, he instantly recognized who it was.
He thought.
So the Second Crack has been released now, huh?
I guess, it's not bad, considering I was about to die.
As he was staying silent, the boy initiated the conversation.
He said, "It seems the chances of taking over you now are not impossible."
Liu Wei's expression did not change.
He stared at the boy and replied, "So, why are you not taking over my body?"
The boy was surprised and suddenly exploded into a hoot of laughter.
He replied, "Your words, despite being indirect, are really hurtful. The sutra is quite powerful in taming me, you know. However—"
The boy was about to continue when he suddenly closed his mouth and was tightly sealed with his own hands.
Liu Wei frowned.
The boy stared at him with a mocking gaze.
Liu Wei was silent.
Until the boy finally stopped sealing his mouth and said, "I shall take my time. It takes a different level of patience to achieve something great, you know?"
Liu Wei was surprised.
He was certainly familiar with the phrase.
The Crown Prince… I see. All this time, this boy is able to gain access to my body's senses, huh?
Liu Wei shrugged.
He glanced at the boy and said, "You know what motivates me? To keep failing your expectations. I can't wait to see you falling into despair in the future."
He grinned and vanished in his primary consciousness….
