Chapter 641: The Villain Leader Luo An, Too Eager to Improve
Leonardo felt as if he were in a dream.
In his dream, he used himself as bait to lure Almeron's elite to kill him. He dispatched another team to raid Almeron's less guarded location.
However, those were just a decoy. His real trump card was the assassin undercover next to Almeron.
As soon as the raiders acted, the assassin undercover would take the opportunity to move against Almeron and kill him amidst the chaos...
"Good morning, Mr. Leonardo."
While Leonardo was lost in his thoughts with his eyes closed, a male voice suddenly rang in his ear.
His scattered thoughts finally unified, and Leonardo jolted awake, his muscles tensed, instinctively ready to resist, and then... he fell to the ground.
As his vision gradually cleared, Leonardo realized he was tied to a wooden chair; because he had just jumped, he was now lying sideways on the floor.
"Don't get agitated, Mr. Leonardo."
Luo An smiled, helped Leonardo up with the chair, and said:
"We mean no harm."
"..."
Looking at the man in front of him holding a pistol, with grenades tucked in his waist, and several men and women behind him wearing bulletproof vests and holding submachine guns staring at him intensely, Leonardo immediately felt a strong sense of malice, and he twitched his mouth:
"What do you want? Just say it. Money? Cocaine? Weapons?
If you let me go, we can talk about these."
Leonardo took Luo An and others as opportunistic raiders. Such incidents had existed historically and globally, which he had heard about from others in the same trade but had never encountered it himself.
Seeing Leonardo's expression, Luo An quickly guessed his thoughts, stood up straight, and gestured behind him. Michelle immediately handed him a laptop.
Luo An showed the laptop screen to Leonardo and smiled:
"Mr. Leonardo, I said we mean no harm. On the contrary, you should thank us."
The news from Rio de Janeiro today was playing on the computer. The reporter didn't say much, and the content was just an overview, but Leonardo immediately saw the underlying story:
One of his subordinates had turned against him, starting attacks on other subordinates, throwing the entire organization into chaos.
Almeron wasn't dead. Not only was he alive and well, but he had also sent people to join the defector in slaughtering the members loyal to Leonardo.
Leonardo's face immediately turned very ugly. Luo An calmly explained last night's situation, saying:
"If we hadn't intervened, you would have been killed by that defector last night.
Clearly, your plan was seen through by Almeron. He turned the tables and is the real winner here."
Leonardo's expression alternated between dark and light, pondered for a few seconds, then looked up at Luo An and asked:
"Since you rescued me, it means you don't want me dead.
So, who are you people? What do you want me to do?"
Luo An's mouth curled into a smile as he spoke to a clever person, pointing at Roland not far away, he laughed:
"CIA."
Roland: "..."
Why point at me?
Hearing the word "CIA," Leonardo subconsciously thought Luo An and his people were all from the CIA, and his face changed immediately, guessing:
"Almeron crossed you, so you want to take him down?"
"..."x5
Hearing Leonardo's remark, Mona, Reesi, Winslow, Chenier, and Michelle all looked at Roland speechlessly: The CIA's reputation is so big that even Leonardo knows your modus operandi.
Roland spread his hands; there was nothing he could do about such things.
Luo An smiled, handed the laptop back to Michelle, and said:
"No, we want to ask a favor, to get in touch with Sarls for us."
"Sarls?"
Leonardo paused for a moment, took several seconds to recall:
"Are you referring to the woman who sells arms?"
"Correct."
"Why?"
"You don't need to know the reasons."
"..."
Watching the back-and-forth between Luo An and Leonardo in the room, Reesi, standing next to her, whispered oddly to Mona:
"I sort of feel like I'm watching a movie? But we're the villains, and Luo An is the villain leader."
Michelle, standing nearby, nodded and whispered:
"It's really stupid, revealing all their plans and then getting easily defeated by the protagonist."
Mona and Chenier rolled their eyes silently.
Sitting on the chair, Leonardo pondered for a moment, nodded, and said:
"I can, but I have a condition."
Luo An chuckled:
"Your life was saved by us, and you still want to make conditions?"
"I know, but saving me is something I can pay you for, separate matters separately."
Leonardo spoke very quickly:
"The condition is simple, Almeron has aged, and his empire is also in its twilight. You CIA provide me with support, and once I replace him, we will carry out the interests according to the rules!"
Having struggled in the Underworld for so many years, Leonardo was very clear about the CIA's status in both Americas. Previously, there was no opportunity or capability to connect with such a powerful backer, but now that it was willingly offered, Leonardo naturally wanted to grasp it tightly.
As for whether the identities of Luo An and the others were fake, Leonardo didn't have much doubt.
On one hand, for so many years, it's usually the CIA impersonating others, not many would voluntarily impersonate the CIA.
On the other hand, the action style and speech of Luo An and his colleagues this time were full of CIA flavor, Leonardo was sure he hadn't gotten it wrong.
"..."
Seeing Leonardo's eyes grow brighter, Luo An's eyelids twitched as he vaguely guessed his thoughts, and shook his head:
"Our target is not Almeron, that's impossible."
Seeing Luo An refuse, Leonardo became more anxious. Seeing Roland yawning beside him, he suddenly thought of something and whispered:
"I have an account with five million dollars in it, I'll tell you the password alone, how about that?"
What the CIA loved most, Leonardo couldn't be clearer; Luo An just now shook his head in refusal, obviously because he hadn't touched upon the crucial point!
The CIA is the CIA, and he is himself, Leonardo understood this saying too well, so his meaning was very simple: aside from benefits meant for the CIA, he'd quietly give Luo An a personal five million dollars.
Understanding this, Luo An was speechless; he was just about to refuse when his eyes flickered thinking of something, thus changing his tone and said with a smile:
"Leonardo, it seems you're very keen to make progress."
Leonardo's eyes brightened, nodding vigorously. He was too eager to advance.
Luo An smiled, helped Leonardo untie the ropes, and said:
"First, call Sarls and try to arrange a meeting in Brasilia; the rest will be simple."
"No problem!"
Leonardo's face was also full of smiles; indeed, finding the crucial point is necessary in handling matters.
Handing Leonardo over to Winslow, and Chenier to watch Leonardo make the phone call, Luo An pulled Roland aside, and asked in a low voice:
"After Almeron, who is next?"
Roland's expression changed slightly; he hadn't heard about the five million dollars, but he did hear Leonardo's desire to replace Almeron, and quickly asked:
"Do you really plan to help Leonardo overthrow Almeron?"
Luo An did not answer, but looked at Roland and asked softly:
"Roland, you have always been working in the field, don't you want to advance?"
"..."
Roland's face stiffened, not knowing how to respond, just then, Chenier approached, her face grim, and spoke softly:
"Team Leader, the call went through, but Sarls refuses to come to Brasilia."
