Chapter 636: Reverse Smuggling, Positioning, Starting the War
"No, wait a second!"
Seeing Luo An holding a hood and smiling at him, Roland's hair stood on end as he hurriedly shouted:
"I don't think I've ever disobeyed an order from Group Leader Luo An!"
"Is that so?"
Luo An raised his eyebrows and asked:
"Did you take that positioning metal chip today?"
"No!"
Roland quickly shook his head. With the "emotional perception" confirming that the other party was lying, Luo An couldn't be bothered with more words and directly tossed the hood to Chenier and Reesi, waving his hand and saying:
"Put it on him!"
"I..."
Just as Roland, whose vision went dark, was about to speak, Luo An stepped out of the car first, taking out a signal jammer and rope to start tying it on Roland, explaining with an indifferent face:
"Don't worry, I have no intention of laying a hand on you, it's just that the upcoming situation is not suitable for you to see, hence the need to cover your eyes.
Additionally, we won't be leaving through the border checkpoint this time, the specific method is confidential, and the positioning device inside your body could be troublesome, so I've bound the signal jammer on you, understand?"
"..."
Roland's mouth twitched, not knowing what to say, Luo An didn't care to explain too much to him, turned around and walked with Mona to a distance, asking:
"How's the situation?"
Mona shook the cell phone in her hand and said:
"They'll be here soon, just five more minutes."
"OK."
Luo An nodded his head, staring into the distance in silence, while Mona glanced at Roland not far away, who was complaining to Reesi, and asked in a low voice:
"Why don't we just leave that guy behind?"
After the agents got off work early yesterday afternoon, Luo An quietly gathered everyone together that evening and briefly introduced the plan he had formulated for this operation.
The plan wasn't complicated. Luo An didn't intend to leave through the federal border checkpoint in an overt manner, as it would leave clear traces. Therefore, he planned to smuggle people out.
For this purpose, Luo An had previously contacted Mona's father, Javari Evans, to ask him for a favor finding a smuggler friend to take the agents of Team 13 out of the federation, and to prepare a set of fake identification for them.
Putting the hood on Roland was intending not to let him see the route of their smuggling. Tying the jammer was to prevent CIA from discovering the route and plans of their movement.
Seeing the confusion on Mona's face, Luo An pondered for a moment and briefly explained the FBI's regulations of needing CIA agents to be involved in overseas operations, eventually concluding:
"Roland is unimportant, but we need his identity."
Although Luo An himself had obtained a CIA agent's identification, he was still officially FBI in terms of procedure and could not submit reports in the name of the CIA.
Mona suddenly understood and stopped asking questions. Five minutes later, a shabby pickup truck slowly stopped nearby, Luo An took a shoulder bag from Mona and walked over to it.
When the pickup truck door opened, two middle-aged white men with unkempt beards, radiating a peculiar smell, stepped off.
Without any idle talk, Luo An threw the shoulder bag to them, expressionlessly saying:
"Seven people, $35,000."
For a plain smuggling without extra services, they would charge $1,000 per person, but with the addition of fake identities, the price was $5,000 each.
After the two white men opened the bag and confirmed the amount of money was correct, they nodded, patted the back of the pickup, and Luo An waved towards Mona and the others, signaling them to get on the truck.
The pickup truck may look battered, but it had strong performance, pulling seven people forward at a not-so-slow speed, quickly reaching an exceptionally open area.
The two middle-aged men got out of the truck, looked around, and then pulled out a wooden board from a seemingly ordinary patch of dust nearby, revealing a one-man-high tunnel below.
These types of tunnels are numerous along the border between the federation and Mo Country, with no one really knowing the exact number; most of them are used by criminal groups for smuggling flour or trafficking in persons.
Following one of the white men through the tunnel, they walked for over an hour before reaching the end. After climbing up a ladder and leaving the tunnel, they had already appeared in an area within Mo Country's territory, about a thirty-minute walk from the nearest city.
Handing over fake identity documents to Luo An, the white man entered the tunnel again to leave. Looking at the distant lights flickering faintly, Reesi raised an eyebrow:
"Others smuggle from Mo Country to the federation, I never thought I'd see the day where I'd be smuggling from the federation to Mo Country."
"I really didn't expect that."
Winslow also smiled and patted the dust off his clothes:
"The experience of reverse smuggling is indeed a first for me."
Chenier tightened the signal blocker on Roland's body and then turned her gaze to the fake ID documents in Luo An's hand, asking:
"What's our next move? Mo Country is in North America, and our target, Almeron Cristo, is in South America. There's quite a distance between the two."
"The journey from here on out is easy, Franklin will help us."
Luo An casually answered Chenier's question before placing the fake documents into the backpack in Mona's hands, whispering:
"Find a chance to burn all of these later."
The purchase of these fake IDs was still a deliberate misdirection left by Luo An; he had no intention of using these purchased identities for the operation.
"OK."
Mona nodded, Luo An, without wasting words, pointed towards the city flickering with lights in the distance and gestured broadly:
"Let's set off!"
In both North America and South America, the US Dollar is a strong currency. Luo An and many others don't know each other when they meet, but the moment they see Franklin and a pistol, they become friends.
The group smoothly reached BaX in South America, and using the newly acquired fake identities, they easily checked into a hotel in Rio de Janeiro.
Inside a certain suite, Winslow and Roland sat in front of a coffee table on the side, playing cards. Roland no longer had the signal blocker on his body, and the tracking metal chip inside him had been cleanly dealt with.
The process was relatively simple; after all, Roland's leg was trembling and his face pale throughout that time.
On the other side of the suite was a dining room, and at the long dining table in the center, Mona and Michelle each sat in front of a laptop computer, tapping away on the keyboards searching for information.
"How about we switch to a different target?"
After a moment, Mona, looking at Luo An with a speechless expression, said:
"Almeron Cristo, this elusive owl, is extremely cautious and takes a bunch of his men with him wherever he goes.
Even when engaging in 'exercise' with women, he always has four or five people outside the room to keep watch.
The difficulty of 'persuading' this kind of person to get in touch with Sarls for us is too high; we have no way to approach him."
"Reesi and Chenier went outside to conduct field investigations; maybe they'll find some useful information."
Luo An smiled, poured Mona a cup of coffee, and asked with a smile:
"You mentioned Almeron Cristo has women, can we start from that angle?"
"I'm afraid not."
Mona said nothing, and it was Michelle who replied:
"Almeron Cristo has four women, and he has assigned at least five bodyguards to each one of them. They're said to be bodyguards, but they seem more like watchers.
There used to be another woman involved with Almeron Cristo. One time, enemies tried to coerce Almeron Cristo by kidnapping that woman.
The result was that Almeron Cristo ordered his men to open fire, not only killing the woman and enemies in a hail of bullets but also leveling the villa with explosives."
Luo An raised an eyebrow, and Mona clicked her tongue repeatedly:
"This guy is just a madman!"
"No problem, there are always more solutions than difficulties, no need to rush."
Luo An patted Mona and Michelle on the shoulders, just then, Reesi and Chenier suddenly burst through the door into the room, excitedly saying:
"Luo An, we found something!"
Everyone in the room shifted their focus to Reesi and Chenier, and Luo An asked:
"What?"
"We found out before that Almeron recently bought a large quantity of weapons and ammunition from Sarls."
Chenier did not beat around the bush, explaining quickly:
"The reason he bought this batch of ammunition is that someone is preparing to declare war on him for his business!
The guy who's planning to start this war also bought weapons and ammunition from Sarls! That person knows Sarls too!"
